  1. Because he, and the OL as a whole, aren't playing to our expectations. I was very excited when we signed Picard, but I've changed my mind.
  2. I personally dislike leaving Simmons off the roster. It has to be some kind of warning/test to keep his mouth shut. But I'm at least happy that Veltung has drawn in.
  3. He's all we got. What about Corey Lewis? Why even bother keeping him around if he can't start in a situation like this? My guess is the coaching staff values experience over a guy in his first year who has only gotten PR reps.
  4. Can you even compare the CAL Murphy Era to today. The rules have changed. The game has too. Not sure if bringing up those bomber teams of the past has relevance to the cfl of today. Different time and Era really. I don't think the comparing eras argument holds up when talking about playing vets on ST as opposed to raw rookies. Obviously playing experienced players will be more successful.
  5. I guess the aspect that bothers me the most is the 2nd & less than 3 yards category, in which we rank 8th. Regardless of our low ranking though, I really appreciate the attempt of someone compiling the numbers like this.
  6. Is Picard out or is he just not practicing today?
  7. Garrett was great to end 2011 as well. 576 yards in 6 games for a 6.3 yard avg with 4 TD. Not to mention the 190+ yard performance in the East Final. Both Garrett and Simpson were great for one small segment of time and then completely dropped off.
  8. They're also not practicing on Tuesday, so there aren't unlimited reps or anything.
  9. I swear mine autocorrected to an incorrect spelling.
  10. Mulumba is pushing for a starting role. We will never see him, we can stop the watch lists. Bilikudi is a possibility for next season.
  11. I prefer our current set up. If Simmons actually works out and is an upgrade in the middle with Hurl rotating in, I honestly would have no interest in pursuing Wild.
  12. you can't compare the CFL in the 80s to now. The NFL was not the juggernaut it is now. The salary cap - if there was one - was not enforced, we could offer more money to lure some players away from teams when they were unhappy with there situations. They certainly were not scouting Canadians at all, so no player ever left for greener pastures. Remember the marquee player rule? There is so many factors that lower the talent across the CFL that were not present in the 80s. So, yes, the talent coming out of the CIS has definitely improved, but yes, there is definitely still a drop in talent across the league.
  13. No we don't, 3 OL, 1 receiver, 1 receiver/fullback, 1 DL, 1 CB = 7. We currently start 1 more canadian than we need to which is why guys like Hurl and Bucknor take so much ****. We don't need them starting and could easily put an american in their spots. In his scenario, Randle takes over the CBA position from Bucknor and we would need another starter.
  14. They were speaking about this a lot on the big show this morning. To make the play offs, all we need is to stay ahead of BC, Sask, and one of Montreal and/or Ottawa. Which seems possible, even with Willy out for a couple months.
  15. I think a few people expected him to get picked on more in a Richie Hall defence as opposed to last year's etch-a-sketch D.
  16. Leggett was a Cornerback before he came here... I mean why did we think Randle would be any good at SAM - anyway, doesn't matter - I'm just saying I'd take a Cdn safety if it meant we had two lockdown cornerbacks. Because we'd rather have a shut down SAM (dime back) than a shut down field corner that sees less action. As much as I'd like to see Bucknor upgraded, our defence seems to be coming along rather nicely. They have been pretty solid the past few games and Simmons will, at worst, seem to upgrade our depth. If he is as awesome as he makes himself out to be, he could be a serious weapon. I still see the real weak link of our defence as our DL. Westerman can't do it all himself and Bilikudi and Mulumba seem like they're sticking around the NFL a for another season.
  17. I think anyone decent will re-up with their teams or head to a place with a better starting opportunity.
  18. I thought after a coffee it would be a No. 1Coffee is known to help with the digestion process. I always take a No. 2 after my coffee.
  19. I was really noticing that yesterday. People have mentioned it before but I never really paid attention to it, but it seemed really obvious to me whenever the offense moved in front of my seats.
  20. I forgot last week, but I'll go with Marve. Everything now rides on his shoulders.
  21. Wasn't that when he was already an OC? He's just a QB coach now, so he should be ready to listen.
  22. Chap is both the most likely and the best case scenario, I think. The Riders' offence certainly hasn't been the problem this year, despite their massive injury issues at QB.
