  1. No one said he'd dominate here. They simply mentioned that the CFL may still be an opportunity for him, whereas he's exhausted his nfl chances.
  2. Entirely depends on Willy's health.
  3. If we're able to fill multiple holes with the second tier guys for the very reasonable amounts they'll be signing for, I'm not sure that's a bad thing.
  4. The Grant vs. Lombardi stories were fantastic. Had no idea.
  5. I wouldn't even count Dressler in this as he will be decided before FA starts. Ted Laurant would be my #1 FA target.
  6. Whoever our back up running back happens to be?
  7. 1. OL consistency. We seemingly have good pieces in Bryant and Chungh at least. We need them to be successful as a group. 2. Roll-outs/moving pocket. We have our OC, now we need him to use the pieces we have to keep Drew Willy on his feet. 3. One more DL. Wether this is an American pass rusher or if Bilikudi comes north, whatever. But our line sucks and we're wasting the few good years Westerman has left in the tank. 4. At least one receiver. Moore is a good possession guy (though injuries are a concern), Denmark has streaks of brilliance when he's not expected to be THE guy, but we do need that dominant consistent threat who we can count on to make big catches. 5. SAM/Safety. This won't happen until training camp or the preseason, but we need to figure out the best possible configuration of Leggett, Randle, Waggoner, etc. Assuming everyone is here next season. 6. A running game. I'm bored with our current backs. I think we need a new one.
  8. Honestly, he had a stellar game 1 and racked up some garbage time yards at the end of game 2. Then yes, he got hurt and was fairly awful the rest of the time he was here.
  9. I would think they were just covering their bases in case Lapo got the Sask HC job.
  10. He more than doubles his salary. Grey Cup or no, I'm taking the raise.
  11. I think semi-pro more refers to something like the gold eyes where the players are "paid", but it's a nominal amount that is no where near enough to live on.
  12. Who was TO's DC this past season?
  13. I think the simplest answer is that he doesn't want to coach.
  14. Absolutely. I'm really getting sick of rule changes every single year. No point to it.
  15. I also find it amusing to see how many people take things at face value. And "off field issues" could be anything, including my theory. And ya, O'Shea is nothing but forthcoming with the media That returns us to tburg's question of how that saves us face? Any team can can pull someone off of another team's PR. And any team can block that trade by putting them on their AR.
  16. Westerman can't be nominated as the rookie, that nomination is all Bass'.
  17. Nobody is saying anyone is right or wrong. I'm just unsure how you even formed your opinion in the first place because there's literally nothing for us to use as evidence. Watching the CFL for 50 years. Seeing thousands of players come & go. A hunch perhaps? An opinion, certainly. But what does that have to do with Davis if you've never seen him play?
  18. He's the fourth guy. Doesn't actually get any reps with the offence.
  19. I would really enjoy a year without any rule changes.
  20. I'm not necessarily saying he doesn't know anything about offence, I was just replying to Spuds' assertion that because he had spent his life in football, he knows what constitutes a good offence. And your mention of Burke is a perfect example as a case where that simply isn't true. As tburg might point out, he has to prove he can do it first, not just have excuses why he hasn't.
  21. If you want to review Walkers skills re-watch the Bombers first game against the RB's last season. No doubt that he had the physical talent at that time but as we have seen until recently with Stoudermire sometimes these guys forget how to use it. No Walker has been the same since day one with Hamilton. He's fast. If he has a big hole to run through he's got the speed to exploit it but when the going gets tough he folds faster than superman on laundry day. Speed gets guys 9 lives in sports but if you can't do anything with that speed but run through gaping holes you're not a football player, just a track star. I was not impressed with Walker and wondered why Winnipeg bothered bringing him in. Interesting comment about his speed though. There is something very wrong with Bombers run game and it doesn't matter who the RB is. First, they telegraph every run. So its easy for the D to pick up. Secondly, every run play takes too long to develop. You can count steamboats while the QB is holding the ball out there waiting for the back to take the ball and then silly-walk into Picard's backside or one of the Bombers guards or the waiting arms of an opposing defender. It's been like that for the past couple of seasons. Its almost like there's no communication between the O line and backfield. And of course no play action to give pause to the D and no misdirection. Major fail. Does MOS not see this? I honestly don't think he does see it and wouldn't know how to fix it if he did. MOS was a LB not a QB, unlike head coaches like Hufnagel and Austin. I'm sure he sees the game differently from many of us and I don't think it's a coincidence that our D is light years ahead of our O. Yea cuz if your a defender.. All you retain and have the ability to follow is defense.. *insert eyeroll emotji* Lets be serious here. Hes been involved in football for how long? He isnt an idiot. He sees now his defenses played against offenses and Im sure he realizes what offenses could and would beat defenses.. I'd agree with you if he had shown any kind of aptitude for offence so far. But his throwing of support behind MB for the last two years, and everything that's come with that move, has not really shown that he does know much about offence.
  22. We only just hit 20 K for the first time a few years ago, when we found out we were getting a new stadium. Props to the fans of Winnipeg for sustaining it for the past 5ish years, but it's hardly a guaranteed number.
  23. I'm not sure how a game that we only lost because we continually shot ourselves in the foot proves we aren't as bad as we thought. We think/know we're a bad team because of the fact we consisitently find ways to lose close games. As well as being completely blown out of the rest of them.
  24. Keeping in mind that those numbers will project to a 1200 yard season.
  25. It's taken quite a while to get him on that stretcher. Hope he's ok.
