  1. Chap is both the most likely and the best case scenario, I think. The Riders' offence certainly hasn't been the problem this year, despite their massive injury issues at QB.
  2. Crap. Hope it is not so. We just do not need any more bad news. He took a couple big shots at the end of the game off of Marve passes.
  3. I doubt he signs anywhere until he's close to playing. In the meantime he will rehab and have his agent scouring the NFL for additional opportunities.
  4. Bob Irving suggested today that it looks like we'll be going with 4 imp at receiver this week. Said both Moore and Veltung were practicing with the ones.
  5. Bombers don't practice tomorrow, then they practice on Wednesday so we will have a better picture then. They practice today and take tomorrow off?
  6. I'm not sure how much of a shot we have at a consistent pass rush. IIRC, the Lions have only given up 3 sacks this year and Lulay has the best outlet in the league in Andrew Harris. I think we have to focus on containing Lulay and keeping a man on Harris at all times. Maybe we can jump in front of one of his dump off passes.
  7. I'm also starting to worry about the health of Willy. I was excited to start this season because we'd be starting fresh after he got so abused last season, but he's already been beaten up pretty thoroughly. As much as I love willy and think he's been improving in his time here, I feel that once a player starts to getting injured on a regular basis it doesn't seem to stop. And even though he's a tough SOB and plays through them, how long can that last?
  8. Justin Dunk is the best thing that has ever happened to cfl.ca
  9. I feel like I'm going to get burned this week, but Paris Cotton.
  10. I will say this for Brohm (and I will make it short because I k ow most of you are out for blood), he does seem to get the playbook very well. Aside from those God awful WR screens and short passes MB was forcing on him for his first few series, he always seemed to go for an open receiver who had a chance for the ball. He went for his first read, yes, but the guy always seemed to be the right read. The problem of course, was Brohm under throwing almost every time. Which was his issue in the pre season too. In my eyes though, that seems like a common problem for the back up QB to have. His biggest issue seems to be timing, which will come with reps/
  11. No way to assess one way or the other at this point. He was obviously assessed at the half and it was deemed he could - at least - stand on his own. That said, he was standing in the dark tunnel and not coming out into the lights. That could be because the lights bothered him, or because he didn't want to be out among the crowd after he had been ruled out. Bottom line is neither the team or Willy himself has a timeline on this. If it is a concussion of any seriousness you just have to wait it out. I hope he's back soon though, you don't wish lingering concussion symptoms on anyone.
  12. I want to watch tonight because it is opening night and I've been dying for the CFL to start back up again, but man, what an awful match-up.
  13. It's a story because it sounds like Walters made promises that weren't kept. I obviously have no idea what was said between Walters and Yantz, but this is a bit of a garbage comment. There is no way Walters promised Yantz anything. GMs don't do that. He was signed. As a rookie, CIS, 5th QB. Against 4 americans with CFL experience who were returning to the same offence they spent all of last season in. We, as well as every other CFL team, sign an extra arm every season - who is cut every season - and not one word is said. The only reason he even got a quote in the paper is because he's from UofM. Based on Yantz's quotes, it sounds like Walters promised him an opportunity to compete for a roster spot, and Yantz feels he didn't get that opportunity. Interpret that however you like. He did get an opportunity, he was on the field. Yantz had to earn anything more, and no, he would't have had much of a chance to do that and yes, the odds were stacked against him. But there is nothing here against Walters, because all he can promise is a number on the guys back, which was provided.

  15. Stanley Bryant has to be #1. I was shocked when that came through the pipe. Damn near spit out my coffee. At this point, knowing that he will be starting, drafting Chungh should be #2. I think Walters almost talked himself out of it at one point. Hall deserves a mention as #3. Not because he's a phenomenal coach, but because he should be a stabilizing influence on yet another complete disaster. Hall might just be the end to the last of the gong shows of our football club.
  16. It's just something to put next to their names on the roster. They are ST players.
  17. I'll second this. Let's see the power guy with a one yard push up the middle.
  18. I think that's the ideal, but it probably depends on the flow of the game (MOS wanting the first teamers to experience success before taking them out), and a pre-determined snap count.
  19. So do Portis and Yantz. I'd wager $10 million of Yourface's internet dollars that we won't see all 5 QB's play on Friday. TBurgess will be livid that he and the others who will be further cuts have not been announced yet. This club has no direction or clue and won't somebody think of the children! TBurgess is happy that the first round of cuts are finally over so we can use our full resources on those players who'll actually be available for this weeks game. Keeping in mind there is still two weeks until opening day, and we still need training camp bodies so our roster players don't exhaust themselves before the season begins.
