  1. In the case of Durant, who do you kick out of the top 3 to include him? Ray, Calvillio, Burris.... Lulay and Glenn had solid seasons during those years as well. Durant always seemed to rise no higher than 4th best in any given year.
  2. You're right. It's just Bowman. That's disgusting.
  3. I'm not as concerned with losing him to another team as I am with him wasting half the season hanging out at an NFL camp.
  4. On the issue of a Willy trade: There's a part of me (the part that wants to see the young back up be given playing time - from Brink and Elliot all the way to Marve and now Bennett), that wants the Bombers to move on, cut Willy (or trade him if the rumours of potential suitors are true) and roll with Nichols and Davis. This was the same part of me that wanted a clean sweep of Walters and O'Shea 5 weeks ago, hoping for us to hire Steve McAdoo as head coach in the off season, who would get James Franklin as our next QB. There's another part - somewhat removed from the fanatic side of fandom - that is glad our management is no longer making such knee jerk reactions. They retained Mike O'Shea even though his first to years were largely unsuccessful, but did not offer him an extension. They allowed him to keep going through a 1-4 start and are finally seeing some positive signs. So now, with Willy, they are again allowing things to play out a bit before, as Lawless put it, "throwing the baby out with the bathwater, even if it is a lot of bath water".
  5. Perhaps a 250 base with incentives? Either way, I think the decision to go to Ottawa came with promises to become the starter sooner rather than later.
  6. It would be a huge blow to what we are trying to build if we can't retain him. I don't have high hopes he'll resign without checking out what's available to him first.
  7. That's about it. We've too bad for too long for the fan version of PTSD to just shake off.
  8. Hopefully Harris rolls for 200 all purpose against them next week.
  9. Also, check out the OL. Everyone along the line - other than Stanley Bryant - is 26 or younger. If you take out Hardrick, who isn't starting right now, they're all 25 or younger. Assuming we don't make any coaching changes going into next season - they are going to have a lot of time to row together.
  10. Assuming everyone continues to play as we have come to expect, we're going to have to make some cost/benefit decisions in our secondary. Johnny Adams will be an expensive second contract. Chris Randle is one of our best players but has had injuries pile up a little - do we re-sign him? Bruce Johnson isn't going anywhere for at least a couple years. Solid HB's are hard to find. Good vet to have back there. And he previously signed an extension through the 2018 season. But Fogg, Frederick, and Roberts are all great finds and are all under contract for at least next season, maybe also to 2018. DLine has a smaller window of our known starters. Cummings will be hard to resign. He's a big contract - we may need the cap room. Shologan is older, and I have no idea what contract length he signed for, but his body should still hold up for a couple more years. Westerman has one year on his contract after this one, we'll see what happens over the next year and a half. Cole looks like he's a good find, but has already been in and out of the line up with injury. Green will hopefully learn to put his athleticism to good use - he's been very hit or miss in limited time. I agree that Martin looks like an intriguing signing. Corney has slipped into the background a bit after a very loud training camp, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Love our LBs. Starters and depth. Wild, Bass, and Leggett aren't going anywhere. We love them, they love us. Knox and Waggoner are exciting ST'rs. The fact is, "Dynastys" are built in the post-season. If they can carry our offense to the Grey Cup, and Walters can keep scouting to replenish the older vets (especially along the line, which isn't complete as is), they have some serious potential here.
  11. We were the last available team with an open spot when we made that trade, so I guess it depends on how it goes down. at the moment, there are multiple teams with starting QB up for grabs and he might want the opportunity to choose his opportunity.
  12. His rights don't mean anything if he wants to go to free agency.
  13. I can't imagine the cancer he'd be as a back up. no thanks.
  14. I want to say that most teams keep only one OL on the game day roster. Teams would rather have an extra player available for ST and defensive roatations than an extra guy who only plays on occasions where 2 OL are injured.
  15. I don't understand this comment. Bombers are 2-0 under Nichols, how do you equate that to a .500 ball club? Not trying to suck back the kool aid and say we're going to be amazing all of a sudden, but where is your projection coming from? And I really don't get your comment on our back up QBs. Why are we keeping our depth? Should we cut everyone on our roster who isn't a starter) what are you talking about?
  16. He would have thrown so many fits in this market.
  17. I was flipping back and forth between this and the Jays game. I can't sit through that many penalties for a non-Bomber game. not sure what your referring to, must have missed that field goal attempt - my understanding was 3 if it deflects in, dead ball otherwise.
  18. "Those guys on the panel always got things to say about me...I've turned around 4 teams in this league....to all those doubters out there, shove it"
  19. And 50 yards is Medlocks's range.
  20. And being in field goal range is not the same as being in the red zone
  21. It's an off season problem though. I don't see a scenario where Drew doesn't see the the field again. Maybe he makes the most of it, maybe he doesn't. But it's too early to roll with a bunch of question marks, especially with the entire coaching staff fighting for their jobs. And that's another can of worms - the coaching staff doesn't care about the salary cap - I doubt MOS wants Walters to throw Willy away.
  22. No one has ever questioned his ability to be a great ST coach. For better or for worse, he views it as a full third of the game and spends a lot of practice time on teams.
