  1. Well, he's ineligible for rookie of the year so no worries there. Why is he ineligible? Because he dressed for a few games in the NFL.

  3. We absolutely want him in the CFL. With our team or not, he is too talented to waste languishing on some random team's PR.
  4. I think you're going about this somewhat backwards. I doubt the BOD gets involved in that way quite yet. MB will be fired at some point, likely in the off season, but I think MOS starts next season as HC. If next year is another disaster, then he will get canned. Walters, I think, will get another HC to hire, but if that doesn't improve things, then Miller will have to fire Walters and hire a new GM. None of that starts will Miller getting fired. Not unless they catch him spending cash on cheeseburgers and foot massagers for his basement. I have that same feeling UNLESS the next 2-3 games how we consistently demonstrate no compete in our game. Then he's gone for sure imo and Hall is promoted to interim. I certainly wouldn't mind that, although I can't see a situation in which MOS is gone and MB coaches on. Also, I'm starting to notices that the successful teams across the league seem to be run by offensive minded coaches. The last couple of ours have definitely not been even capable of running an offensive meeting and I might hesitate handing the team off to another DC.
  5. Our record with Willy at the healm is nothing to be proud of though. We also got blown out in games that he's started. It doesn't excuse MBs offense in any way.
  6. So just so I know, how many times will you have to be told that the BoD had NOTHING to do with any of those hires except for Wade Miller? Ultimately, the **** falls on the BOD if the underling hirings don't work out. I'm guessing you haven't been on a lot of boards. I have experience on one here in Calgary. We did hire 3 head football coaches for 3 different community teams under the same organization when I was on that board over 3 years from 2004 thru 2006. I actually helped set up that very board as our first bantam team went from being an expansion team being run exclusively by the league that set it up to a team part of that league but acting independent of it decisions wise. Under the board, our organization grew from one bantam team with 34 kids (ages 13-15) to 2 atom teams (ages 8-10), a pee wee team (ages 11 & 12) & a midget team (ages 15-17) with nearly 200 players. I congratulate you on your involvement in your community. Boards like that need good people who are prepared to roll up their sleeves and get the dirty work done. Having said that, I can assure you that the type of board you sat on is very different from that of the Bombers. I've been on NGO boards, community boards like the one you have served on and corporate boards. The Bombers will function very much like the corporate boards. They'll approve budgets, set overall goals for the corporation, set policies and by-laws, review various aspects of the organization and receive reports from Miller, and if required, from other senior managers. What they won't do is personnel stuff or football operation stuff. Trust me, you do not want a board messing with that stuff. Ever. Thank you. The Blue Bomber board will fire Miller if they don't believe he is doing the job. I imagine if that happened they could do a total housecleaning if need be by firing Walters & MOS. Not beyond the realm of possibility. However, it's all about timing & when (if) it happens. In reality, firing Miller means the team didn't do well so a trickle down effect would take place anyway when a new President is named. I think you're going about this somewhat backwards. 7. Hey, we picked him up in the 5th or 6th round, got years of service out of him, and have now flipped him for a starter-ish, and a second rounder. That's pretty impressive.
  8. Say what you want about MOS as a HC, but we just upgraded our ST coordinator significantly. MOS has been right in the middle of ST for several weeks now. Not sure what he's going to do differently than he already has been.
  9. Jones is still Giants property. They chose to keep him around despite the injury. He ain't coming back to the CFL any time soon.
  10. I don't think Ray would help this team at all. Seriously! Have you been watching the team this year? Willy cant be depended on to play 18 games in a season. But again the point of the post is should we be spending probably $250,000on a defensive player. I remember the Eskimoes having some terrible teams with Ray under centre and I just don't think he would be effective at all in this offence with this OL. I also think he's still not ready to start and trade talks are pointless. Not to mention the fact that he would get injured faster than Willy did. His body is no longer durable enough to take the hits he would here. Muamba on the other hand is a clear upgrade who would help our team now and going into the future. He is a cornerstone piece.
  11. I don't think Ray would help this team at all.
  12. And when/if it becomes time to fire Walters, that's on him. I don't quit think we're at that point yet.
  13. The guy is a fkn troll because he was cut... Wonder what he would have said on twitter when we were all saying he was the weak link on the OL He becomes active with the fan base on social media and he's a troll? If you scroll down his tweets beyond today, he's been disgustingly optimistic about the Bombers and their chances in games. Very supportive of the team and his former team mates. But like the rest of us, today seemed to be a final straw.
  14. It's not really his job. O'Shea is the man in charge.
  15. You have to take solutions where you can find them. There aren't all star QBs who just got axed we can throw money at. There is a MLB who offers an upgrade.
  16. I like that.EDIT: that was apparently a typo. Derrell Johnson was scratched, not Bruce.
  17. Doesn't work like that in the CFL - even if he had an 'option' year left - he burned it when he was in Indy. This is why I keep berating the CFL draft here. Normally, in a draft, you draft the BPA or at worst the BPA for a position you have very little depth in. The CFL is the only pro NA draft I know of that you don't do that as if the player is 'too good' you won't get him. If it wasn't for university rules - I'd like to see the draft completely abolished and just go to two territorial picks and the rest are UFA's that can be 'purchased' - maybe a similar system to the Soccer system- knowing you couldn't do that though until the players uni career was over. What the hell are you talking about? Muamba played his entire three year contract here and left as a FA. In what league do you keep a guys right after his contract expires?
  18. Or his agent smells blood in the water and uses our increasing desperation to drive his price up.
  19. Hard to believe he won't be PR'd. They only have Palmer and Stanton on the roster now and both missed serious time last season.
  20. Capgeek is no where close to being correct.
  21. Muamba and Wild are both beasts and if it has to be 2 out of 3, please let it be them. Oh, c'mon, we're not signing 2 of 3. That's ridiculous.
  22. This surprises me. I thought he'd hold out for another NFL team for longer than that. Unless this is just the agent covering all his bases.
  23. Gale's been in the CFL for 3 seasons and has 21 pass attempts. He was the short yardage QB in 2014 but otherwise has not had regular reps at QB. Marve alone has more on-field experience than Gale. In his three years, Gale has to have been in film sessions, watched games, and even run scout teams, so I stand by my statement about CFL experience. #3 gets zero reps in practice. Unless we have another injury, I'm good with the QBs we have in terms of retreads. I absolutely want out scouting staff out there looking for next year's third string/development guy, but I'm hopeful Nichols can get us through the rest of this season without needing to see the trio of cuts ever again. If Nichols can elevate himself to being an "adequate" replacement for Willy, I can see him remaining on the Bombers roster for a number of year. Much like Drew Tate in Cgy. not a #1 QB but a decent replacement in emergencies. Tate is a good comparison. A guy who seems to have gotten injured during every attempt at being a starter, but has settled into an effective role as a back up.
  24. "the longest shadow boxing demonstration I've ever seen" lol
  25. I very much disagree with that. The coaching staff has shown in the past few games that they'll pull Brohm and/or Marve after a certain point of ineptitude. Whether we see Davis or Nichols go in is up for debate at that point.
