  1. That's definitely the obvious guess but the media actually didn't ask o'shea what options he gave to grigsby.
  2. Lawless asks the first question... can you explain the situation with grigsby this morning and what lead to his release?? O'shea says he explained the role grigsby would have this week and then grigsby asked for his release Lawless quotes chris randle, o'shea after a while says him and randle could be team mates, essentially agreeing with randles quote Churchill chimes in, Why not a trade instead of a release? o'shea says no comment, nothing good can come of what he might say basically What was his role going to be this week? He was going to sit this week.. Friesen chimes in, was the option of being released given to Grigsby? O'shea says NO So tell me there Kptn Krunch, where exactly did the media ask what the options presented to grigsby were? They didn't. They had a chance too but they didn't.. cuz after that last question by friesen they move on to talking about something totally different They didn't ask what options he was given, they asked if he was given the option to be released and MOS said no No where do they ask about what options he was ACTUALLY given. You can come to your own conclusions with the one game or the PR but the media did not ask what options MOS actually gave him. Listen again closer.
  3. True if you've only watched like 3 games. Here are our losses, keep in mind not all points score for the other team were because of the D either, special teams and offensive **** ups lead to several points scored.. Not an ETCH fan and predicted the same but..... to be fair... 26-3 Edmonton 3 points for our offense? Yeah let's blame ETCH 23-17 SASK, that was the game where we turned the ball over 5 times, but let's blame the D 38-21 Toronto, that was on a tuesday after we played SASK, 3 or 4 days later... D was gassed by the 4th but kept the team in it up until that point 35-30 sask in sask... Labour Day, Offense had a chance but couldn't move the ball, lets blame the d tho 30-24 sask, banjo bowl, turnovers cost us that game but again let's blame the d 26-9 vs bc in bc, Willy got hurt and that game was close until the 4th quarter, that was when our offense couldn't move the ball at all once willy got hurt, let's again blame the D tho 16-11 vs hamilton, remember that one? had a chance to win on the last play of the game but didn't, let's blame the D though even though our offense couldn't score 2 touchdowns The last 2 games have been blowouts so those 2 teams, yeah... they have sucked but those 2 games is not how the season has gone for us really 4 of 9 losses were by like 6 points or less 2 of our losses, actually 3 if i include the last edmonton game, we didn't score a TD all game How can we blame the D again?? Like i said, not an ETCH fan but blaming the D when the offense hasn't scored a touchdown in 3 of our losses and 4 of our losses were by 6 points or less?? I dunno about that one. I'm not gonna go through all those game stats but... Just based on what i recall, just eliminating our own offensive and special team mistakes, we probably could have won 4 of those games if not more, when you lose 4 games by 6 or less and you are turning over the ball lots and making special teams mistakes, pretty tough to blame the D. I'm not an ETCH fan at all and thought it would be like this too but to ignore the offensive struggles the team has had is just blaming etch cuz you don't like guy, i don't like the guy either but... just because i don't like him doesn't mean i'm going to ignore the bigger issues we have. Is the D a problem? i suppose so, but is the offense a bigger problem? Yes it is and if you refuse to see that or admit that, then i don't know what to say 4 losses by 6 or less, 3 losses we didn't score an offensive td all game.. How can we blame the D exactly? maybe for 2 losses we can blame the D but when the offense can't score touchdowns in 3 of those games and we turned the ball over multiple times in those 4 games we lost by 6 or less, not sure how the D and Etch get the blame. Ignoring the last 2 games because most the season wasn't like that in 7 losses we have given up an average of about 28 points a game, in those 7 losses, we have scored an average of about 16 points a game. 16.5 really. How can you blame the D for the majority of those losses when the Offense has only average 16.5 points a game in those losses. 16.5 points won't win you many games at all. Really wish i could find the stat on how many turnovers we have had and how many points it cost us in those 7 losses, cuz my guess.. just based on memory, it's quite a bit for sure. Can go on and on about the last 2 games but those last 2 games isn't what we've seen this season really, well it is, but not in terms of what the defense has done this season, those last 2 games are more of a reflection of what the offense hasn't done this season.
  4. Kyle Walters technically hasn't even been the Gm for a full year yet, technically he was hired late November of last season. Little too quick to judge i think, Gonna take some time to get where we need to be, Really not sure why people think all/most of the problems we had the last several years could be fixed in less than one year.
  5. 3 running backs? might as well just punt the ball on first down.
  6. Well, troy smith won't get a shot anywhere else in the CFL this season, he can't. He was let go after the trade deadline, no teams can pick him up. Wouldn't be surprised if Montreal shopped him around to some teams but had no takers. He really wasn't very good at all. I mean really, based on nothing but just a guess, you could come to the conclusion that sask chose 41 or 40 something year old Joseph over Troy Smith. I mean sask probably could have given up a late round pick for Smith if they really wanted him a few weeks ago...They didn't. Think that tells you all you really need to know about how teams feel about Troy Smith. I do have to admit tho, i find it somewhat amusing and kind of hmm ironic, nah.. interesting i guess that 2 guys that TSN hyped the crap out of earlier this season, HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE.. non stop HYPE for smith and Grigsby by TSN, well.. they are gone now.
  7. I'm thinking Grigsbys tweets on the week-end had something to do with it for sure. Threw his team under the bus there a few times, 1 vs 12 out there? Yeah that's throwing your team under the bus for sure, Think the bombers knew he would ask for his release, that's why they gave him options. Whatever though right, it's not like he's that big of a loss. 11 pages plus on a guy who really wasn't that good. It's crazy actually, i get it, it's big news but... this is something most people wanted back at training camp. Sometimes you think you know a guy and then he is asked to sit for a game or 2 and his true character comes out.
  8. The key thing for Bowman is for the young people to actually go out and vote for him, if they do, bowman has a very good chance at winning. Bowman is quite popular with the students and these people, big time popular at RRC and even the Universities. If those people actually go out and vote, i could see bowman taking it. Judy is a 65 year old career politician, I don't think that's what most people want. I don't really care what anyone says but Judy has shown that she is a little out of touch with reality. If the young people actually vote, bowman will win easily.
  9. Kind of a **** move by Montreal to release him the day after the trade deadline, sorry but things like that probably won't sit well with people. Why not release him yesterday and give him the chance to catch on elsewhere.. I don't really care that they released him, i just think the timing of it makes it a huge **** move.
  10. LOL. what part of grigsby asking for his release do some people not get so no the bombers didn't cut him, They gave him a couple options, who knows what they were but one wasn't to be released and then Grigsby himself asked for his release. God, seriously, Grigsby himself said he asked to be released, why are there posts going on about us cutting him when we didn't cut him, he asked for his release.
  11. Jace Daniels eh, well if it's anything like last week or the week before, i haven't had a drop of alcohol in probably 2 years, i got my reasons for that and they are legit valid reasons but... if it's anything like last week or the previous week, i may need to crack up a bottle of jace's brother Jack.
  12. First ever bomber game, must have just turned about 7 at the time, july 1994... Vs Edmonton. 50-35 victory. Our qb threw for 713 yards and 5 touchdowns, 4 to Alfred Jackson. Set a record that hasn't been close to being beat and probably never will be in the CFL. That was the first bomber game i ever attended and it made me a fan for life.
  13. Delete - Congrats on the prediction tho.
  14. I can't agree with what he did either but just the other day O'Shea scoffed at changes because he was trying to build something and not tear it down. There were better ways to handle this situation than having a player quit on you because of playing time, time which he had earned throughout the season. There is a big difference between losing your job to the next guy because he out performed you then to lose it for really no reason at all. Both players could and should have been on the roster splitting touches and may the best man win. Just very bush league that it even had to come to this. The other day was like 2 weeks ago dude. The team is in a losing streak, change needed to be made. They made a change, a change most people wanted to see. You wanna keep doing the same thing over and over? It seems MOS is damned if he do, damned if he don't with some of you... people beg for change, we get it then people ***** about that change. It's crazy really.
  15. I get this funny feeling that for some reason isn't going away, it's about this week vs calgary, I dunno why but i honestly for real get the feeling that we will somehow pull off the win. However if Willy is hurt and doesn't play, no chance but i think if he does play, i see us winning for some reason. I dunno why either, logic says the stamps in a blow out but... just can't shake that feeling that an upset is about to happen. Maybe it's the fact that Calgary has nothing to play for and the Bombers should be quite motivated this week, I dunno, just a feeling. Haven't really had it in a while but i got it right now for some reason. I'm probably wrong, wouldn't be the first time and won't be the last but I just see a very motivated for some reason bomber team showing up this week... basically the bombers season is on the line this week, It really is, people can say what they want but the season is truly legit on the line this week, yeah its unlikely we make the playoffs, it's actually very unlikely but since we seem to have something to play for this week and Calgary really doesn't, I just get this feeling we beat them.
  16. If grigsby signed elsewhere and had a good first game with that team, I'd probably be like yeah he did that here week 1 also, let's see if he can do it again and then he probably wouldn't be able to do it again. Honestly, Don't think it would mean anything if he signed elsewhere and had 1 good game, Problem with Grigsby here tho was he couldn't break that one tackle in the backfield, does that change elsewhere? It didn't change here, people can blame olines all they want and schemes and all that stuff but if you can't run through a leg tackle on one team, what makes anyone think he could do it on another team.
  17. Went to vote at the advanced poles about an hour and a half ago, Bowman it is and judging by the chatter of most the people at the poles, i'd say bowman has a pretty good chance to take it. Not sure if people want Judy in there, Funny cuz this area is filled with NDP signs for city councilor but more bowman than judy mayor sign tho. I find that interesting, tons upon tons of ndp city councillor signs but way more bowman for mayor signs than Judy signs. Same houses too, you see a bowman sign and the NDP city councillor sign on the same yard. It's interesting. Think what it's saying to me is most people in this area want change.
  18. Simpson was better than Grigsby and had way more class. Would love to see a healthy Simpson back here. Doubt it happens but it would be ok with me if it did.
  19. I'm just happy to know that we have a guy like Chris Randle on the team who actually gives a crap and actually has heart character and dedication to the team. More Chris Randles and less Nic Grigsbys please.
  20. Heres an example as to why our media sucks for the most part When they asked O'shea about the release, O'shea said they gave him a couple different options, one not being his release and grigsby then asked for his release. You would assume the next logical question after that would be 'What options did you give him" but nope, didn't ask that, just moved on to something else. This is why speaking to the coordinators is pointless, this is why actually reading the papers is pointless, it's all pointless cuz the questions that most fans want to know (i'm assuming most fans would want to know what options grigsby was given)(i know i wanted to know), but our media don't ask that and then pretend to be speaking on behalf of the fans? what fans are they speaking on behalf of? They ain't asking the questions i want to know... Why not ask what the options were, that seems to be pretty relevant in this scenario, what options did they give to grigsby, if one wasn't to be released then what the heck other options did they give him... I gotta LOL at those who think the media here would actually ask relevant questions, they don't even ask the obvious ones when it's right there in there face, you could see MOS almost getting ready to explain what those options were and honestly he looked surprised when the media just totally ignored it. Speaking on behalf of the fans? Bullllllllllllllcrap and i hope to GOD o'shea knows and i'm pretty sure he knows, but i hope to god he knows that those morons do not represent the average fan. If that is the mentality tho of the average fan, we got bigger problems then who our coaches players or management are.
  21. Not exactly. That's the problem with the media, they actually skipped the rest of that quote. O'shea actually said more but he said it's best to just say "no comment" cuz no good could come of saying more. AKA he didn't want to say that they probably tried to and were trying to but had no takers cuz most teams don't trade for average running backs. With that being said tho, drew edwards on twitter, ticats guy says he's hearing the ticats have some interest in Grigbsy. Nobody would have traded for him tho.
  22. We will just do it like this QBs- Willy,Brohm,Marve <--- all upgrades on last seasons complete CRAP.. BY A MILE even. RB- let's call it a wash really, Ford was ok last year, much like Grigsby this year, Just ok, nothing special, Just ok. <--- needs to be upgraded big time OL- January,Morley,Jones and Howard (for a bit) were around last season... Goossen,Tyler,Hinse and the PR guys are pretty much new.... Couple Import tackles i'm assuming on the PR right now so i suppose they do recognize the weakness, Neufeld has been hurt, Knapp lost his job and hasn't been able to get it back.. Bit undersized i suppose. WR- Moore, Denmark.. Kohlert,Watson.. Moore is new, the rest are the same. Kelly is the same, Bryant is new but not really, JFG is new too... Should have been able to find at least one receiver better than Kelly and Bryant, maybe that guy is on the PR though, who knows. Really just need 1 guy there. Couldn't find him earlier on, altho maybe kemp would have been that guy but he got hurt, hard to say exactly. Have tried McGuffie but he doesn't seem to be that impressive right now. DL- exact same as last year minus a few guys and plus Vega. Booker looked good, Fraser was ok when he played too, just got hurt..Lots of issues there with Injuries though. LB- Definitely worse, Funny cuz both Wild and Dunn were starters last year for us. Wild is good, Dunn is i suppose adequate? I dunno, don't hear his name much, not sure if that's good or bad.. DBs - definitely better than last year... big time upgrades there S- Leggett is way better than Muamba K- Lirim is the best kicker we have had in some time But when you really look at it... Leggett,Johnson,Fraser/Booker have been our only real changes from last season. Minus the QB's and free agent signings. Probably not good enough but i suppose i'm willing to give the scouting staff the benefit of the doubt for now, they seem to understand that there are issues with this team and judging by a few PR signings, they seem to be recognizing the right areas. Couple Tackles on there, Just signed a Linebacker too, Looks like he can play the Middle, so they are aware of the issues so that's a plus in my view but they haven't really given these guys a chance yet and the ones they have given that chance too, well a couple have looked decent (Booker,Tyler) a couple have not.
  23. Don't most teams in the CFL have the same policy? I know Montreal did with trestman and i'm pretty sure sask and calgary and even edmonton now have the same policy. Maybe it's cuz i'm not following the other teams as much as the bombers, but seems to me that at least half the teams in the league have the same policy as o'shea. Heck pretty sure Toronto does too.
  24. maybe if fans could ask the questions but with our media here, you'd get nothing interesting at all. You may not understand it cuz you live out there in BC but the media here are pathetic and you'd learn absolutely nothing new from them if they were to speak with the assistant coaches. Can say what you want out there on the west coast but don't think you can truly understand unless you live here. That's absolute hogwash. I can and do truly understand, not because I live or lived in Winnipeg, but because I watch the media scrums and read the Winnipeg papers online. The only thing I can't do from out here on the coast is go to the practices. Most around here don't do that either, Again, say what you want but when you constantly agree with the biggest troll in the winnipeg media, it tells me you really don't get it at all.
  25. Amazing tho, all the bitching these guys were doing on twitter and then it's 1 minute of questions about grigsby and then move on. Seriously,Lawless had the first question, sara orlesky from tsn had one (similar) and then friesen asked the same question, seriously 3 similar questions from 3 different people. I don't get our media, you can almost hear them going damn, that was my question, now what do i do. It's crazy, 30 seconds on grigsby if that really, take out the stuterring and the questions and it was 30 seconds, maximum one minute on grigsby.
