Wonder if the jets now just stand pat since it's unlikely they can contend for the cup. Not sure this helps their playoff chances. Doubt they are willing to give up 1st rd picks in a strong draft year. Especially not for a rental which vermette would be

It's Twitter. Who cares. It's all in good fun and quite honestly, i have enjoyed some of the tweets that pro sports teams send out to each other. All in good fun. Only people who are offended or don't like this type of stuff are people who are way too sensitive. Man, not knocking the topic cuz i like it, it's a neat discussion but... what's the world come to when topics like this exist. What's happened to peoples sense of humor. Man, guys like George Carlin and The legends of comedy would just be crapped on these days. It's pathetic actually when you think about how sensitive the world has gotten.

Darrin Bauming. I like DB and take his word as the truth but.... sometimes these guys are just guessing too.

Kind of irrelevant now with the Brohm signing. Here's my 2 cents tho on Kevin Glenn, just do this one last time lol. This Kevin Glenn stuff pops up every off-season it seems, always so many pages devoted to Kevin Glenn it seems. Here we go, Back in the day KG was a good quarterback, he was never great, he was just good, he was never in the Ray Burriss Calvillo category, I don't think I'd put him in the durant or lulay category either. He did have a very good season or 2 several years ago now, the season we went to the Cup final and you know what, he showed some fire but that was a long time ago now, many many years ago now. Something happened to Glenn over the years it seems, He got older, he got slower, he started to turtle more, He became just another average QB but he is an average QB with a name people recognize. I mean, Give me tate over glenn any day, give me Trevor Harris even, give me Brohm even over Glenn. I guess, eventually you just need to move on from the past, you can never really go forward if you keep going back to the past. Couple years ago, gladly would have taken Glenn, I'd have taken Glenn over Pierce and Max Hall and the crap that we have had since really trading Kevin Glenn but now we got ourselves a solid stable of QB's, Drew WIlly could be very good and could be very good for a long time, Brohm showed some flashes, Marve looks like he could be a good one... Portis? Who knows really but... Think it's time to move on from old KG... Few years ago, sure gimme glenn because an average Glenn is better than the crap we had but... today? moving forward? No Thanks. Glenn is just not the same QB he was when he had his 2 or so good seasons a few years ago. Guys had chances to win the big games too and have failed.. it's not all on him that's for sure but... eventually you do wonder if maybe just maybe, Kevin Glenn just can't win the game that matters. Has he ever won the game that mattered? I'm not sure he has. He generally stinks it up come November doesn't he. Doubt a guy at his age will turn it around. Let the Riders or Als have him really. I liked Glenn when he was here in his prime but... his prime has come and gone now.

Which reporter responded back? Cuz i mean if it was Jim Toth or someone like that, not sure i'd take that very seriously. If it was Penton, maybe i would. He seems to be pretty in tune with what the bombers are doing.
-
Not sure they do want to trade Calvert but CBJ is one of those teams who have lots of prospects knocking on the door, could be that. Could be that he's an RFA after the season and maybe they don't want to sign him. I dunno, gonna be honest, the guy that reported the Calvert interest was Lawless so i guess, gotta take that with a bit of a grain of salt also.

New Impact Players This Year: Our Scouting System
Goalie replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think one of the biggest things that scouting staff will have had this year is TIME. I mean last year they were pretty much brought in pretty late, not sure how much legit time they had to check out players and all that stuff, heard walters talking about consistency in the staff and that includes the scouting staff. Time, they have had a year now together, Time is a big one i think. -
Odell doesn't really fit what maurice likes in a player, while he did have a few good games a few seasons ago now, the guy has been a journeyman AHL'r throughout his career, started off with the ducks i beleive, couldn't crack the roster, signed with the jets, couldn't consistently crack the roster, jets waived him, picked up by the ducks i think again and couldn't crack their roster again, waived and jets picked him back up, couldn't consistently crack the Jets roster. There is something missing with Odell, i think he's one of those players that shows flashes at times but not enough to be an everyday NHL player. Reality is, they could have called him up several times this season and haven't... Logic tells me that he's just not really in their plans. As for Armia, apparently part of the reason he didn't play for the Sabres that much is because he's played in Europe prior and had to get used to the differences over here in North America, Ice Size being one of the major ones actually, Dude has done pretty well on a not so good Rochester team too so, we will see what happens but like every young player, he will have his ups and his downs, he will show flashes at times and look lost at others, Scheif, Lowry, even Trouba all went through the same ups and downs when coming to the NHL. It's normal for young players to do this. Armia, a finnish player coming over to play in North America the first time, welll... the differences are enormous, I like what he brings tho, he's a big RW and i think if you give him some time and not write him off after a game or 2, cuz it does take time to get used to the system the Jets are playing, he's going to do some very good things. Young skilled scoring winger, might just be what the Jets are missing. Let's just say it this way, If Armia is called up and looks like he belongs, what that means really is Jets have a decision to make on stafford or Frolik, won't sign them both, it will be just one probably. If Armia comes up and craps the bed and it looks like he needs more time in the AHL to develop, well then. Who knows. As for why he couldn't crack the sabres roster, it's all about the TANK.

Hate to say it because I do like Benny but every team has a similar d man like him on their team and he's the guy who plays 3rd pair minutes. Myers is better and will get better too. Guy did win the Calder a few years back. Myers gonna be here a long time.
-
Weird. Every d man got 20 minutes plus of ice. Every d man except stu and Chiarot and Chiarot actually had the least amount of ice time. Chiarot is easily replaceable actually
-
Jets do a little player of the game thing now where that guy wears the fighter Helmet. Tonight's guy was Tyler Myers. Guess the pros know more than the Joe's
-
Not gonna crap on the new guys. Jets dominated and deserved the win. Edmonton goalie was lucky and good.
-
Myers is 10000 x the player Chiarot is. And Chevy Will not move him. Just stop with that talk there. It won't happen. 3 games with the team. Jesus. Give him some time. Takes time to get used to a new system. Chiarot is a 5 or 6 d man. Myers is top 3 at the worst. Weren't some people saying the same about clitsome when he played with buff. Take Chiarot away from buff and he struggles hard. It's a fact. Ridiculous to say Chiarot is better. 3 games with the new team.
-
Chiarot not so good without buff. At best he's a 5 or 6 d man.

Jagr wants to play out east, Bergenheim is interesting but his compete level seems to be in question. I'm not sure the Jets are after guys with compete issues. It's more likely they go after guys like Winnik or Calvert, guys that probably at best would take 3rd round picks. Jagr would be nice but... he wants to stay out east.
-
He's got talent but we let him walk for free so there is no way we would give up any assets for him. Shootouts are great and all but in the playoffs, there are no shootouts.
-
Cap reasons are why Jokinen is part of the deal. As for Santorelli, we had him before and the Jets let him walk for free so tells you what they think of the guy. Some guys are just good fits on other teams, Santorelli wasn't a fit here really and we have no need to bring in another center. Winnik i could see us being in on tho. Say what you want but Little,Scheif,Lowry is a solid group up the middle, Santorelli wouldn't be brought in to play 4th line minutes. Some rumors suggest we are after guys like Winnik and even Matt Calvert of Columbus to upgrade the bottom 6. Calvert probably be a good 4th line player for us, Winnik might be a good 3rd line winger. Ladd,Little,Wheeler Perreault,Scheif,Stafford Winnik,Lowry,Frolik Calvert,Slater,Thorburn.

Don't get me wrong, I like Enstrom and his hockey sense is pretty high it seems but... he does turn the puck over, maybe not as much as the other guys but when he does it leads to grade A scoring chances, last nights backhand pass up the middle in his own zone right on the tape of the red wing player who missed the net. He's a good d man but.. he makes mistakes and doesn't shoot the puck enough also. Guess we are lucky to have him tho. He just leaves lots to be desired most games. Shoot the puck man, when he does it's a good thing, but rarely does he shoot it... does the same thing, fakes it and then circles the net and then passes it off... It's all good but... i'd like to see Toby shoot the puck more when he has the chance.
-
Myers been solid. Enstrom not so much with the give aways. Hutch was clutch and stafford got the winner. New guys looking good. Played in a beer league and when new guys joined the boys had chemistry issues. Don't think it be easy to do going 100 percent out there like myers and stafford.

Since contract numbers are never released to the public, I don't know how that could be a realistic guess. If January was 120 or so, Morley due to be Canadian would probably be more.
-
do you pay frolik the same you pay bryan little? Isn't little making like 4.7 per year? If Frolik is looking for between 4.5 and 5 milion, i'd let him go elsewhere to get it cuz reality is, he's a 3rd line winger on a good team. I doubt they move him b4 the deadline, but i really don't see them signing him for anything more than 4 million. He's a 3rd line winger, 4 million is as high as i would go with an offer for him. He's a good player but... he doesn't deserve to be paid anywhere near close to what Little is making.
-
Morley is probably getting paid pretty nicely, he is a vet and a canadian and a starter for this team the last few years, My bet is he's being paid quite well so i'd suspect he either retires or is traded. If i had to guess, i'd lean towards retirement

I have a cabin too and love it out there, but... we also have a satellite dish so that works lol. It's nice watching games out at the cabin actually.

3rd goal was weak but we only scored 1 against Rinne so we'd still lose 2-1 if that 3rd goal didn't go in. Fact is, Rinne is 7-0 in his career vs the Jets. Could start a brick wall and it wouldn't matter. Dude just has the Jets number. Several fantastic saves. If anyone but Rinne played that game, we win easily. Pav played well too and has actually played very well vs Nashville this season, Just we can't beat Rinne. It is what it is. To blame Pav for the other goalie being the best goalie in the league is crazy actually. Pav played well enough to win, could argue he kept the Jets in the game at times making several huge saves. Just Rinne is too good.
-
To be honest, Rinne is 7-0 in his career vs the Jets, so we could start a brick wall against Nashville and would still lose if Rinne played. He's just got our number. He's the best goalie in the league and it's pretty obvious. Got some luck too tho, hit a couple posts. I'll say this much, If Rinne wasn't playing, we win that game easily. 3rd goal on Pav was kind of weak but again, the first 2 weren't and we could only score 1 so we lose anyways. Also need to keep in mind that Myers was injured on that goal too so it was essentially 5 on 4 for Nashville too.
