Except it's Ramo and the younger guy in Calgary getting the wins. Hiller has been hurt lots

I get the feeling Burmi has told the jets he wants to come back to the NHL but not to the Jets. BURMI for Winnik rumors OUT there
-
Parker? Wasn't that 2 3 years ago now?
-
It's crazy but jets do have points in 7 of their last 9 games. Hope they make the playoffs but need to stay realistic too. Wild catching up. Jets Wild Flames Sharks. 2 will make it. 2 won't

Can talk about the Goalies not being as good as they were but the entire team in front of them have gotten away from what made them so good prior to the All-Star Break. The team was playing a very, i'd call boring, style of defensive hockey, they were winning games that way tho, 2-1, 3-2 games, they were winning them, not that exciting really but they were winning. After the All-Star Break tho, they have gotten away from that style of play it seems. That is their biggest problem. They are not playing the style that made them so good earlier in the season. Top 4 D all out? No problem, the team was just playing a certain way and it's obvious they have gotten away from that. The penalties too, man oh man, they are the most penalized team in the league by a significant amount, you aren't gonna win when you play half the game short handed. But like i said, they have gotten away from that boring style of defensive hockey that won them games earlier. Goalies are being left out to dry more often now, yeah Hutch let in a bad one yesterday, maybe 2 but... Keep in mind, the leafs put 2 in their own net pretty much also so it goes both ways but.... the team is just not playing that good defensively anymore. Gonna mention him, not picking on the guy or anything but Jacob Trouba? What has happened to him? Trying to be too pretty out there, hasn't played the same since returning from injury really. Wheeler looks hurt too now, MadDog Perreault is out too, pretty thin on the right side, Frolik is not having the best season either, he's not worth 5 million and if that's what he's looking for, i'd let him walk cuz he's not a top 6 forward. He's a bottom 6 guy who chips in occasionally. The PK has gone to crap too. THe PP is still crap. Yeah it's better than before but it's still garbage most times. Team needs to get back to how they were playing pre all-star break, if they do that, it don't matter who is on the roster or not, trading for guys like Winnik or Bergenheim, it's irrelevant really. Their top 4 D were out for a month or so and the team kept winning cuz they played that style that made them so hard to play against, they got away from that and now it's catching up to them. Having a 4th line that plays 2 minutes a game don't help either. Hutch is a rookie, he's going to have ups and downs, he's still shown that he can be very good tho, If not for him, this team probably is a bottom 5 team, yeah he has 38 of the Jets points this season, Pav has 33 and has played more games than Hutch too. Huch will have games where he's not as good, it happens to every goalie in the league really, plus he's a rookie. Gotta have some patience with him here. Pav tho? Dudes been the same for his entire career, honestly, if i'm the Jets, i'd look at moving Pavelec ASAP and i know he didn't play last night but... it's time to move on from him. Trade him? If you can? Waive him? Pick up a vet for cheap and ride Hutch and the Vet this year, a vet that can mentor Hutch as Pav doesn't really seem like the mentor type. I like Pav, good guy but his time has come. It's time to move on. Heck, maybe even call up Hellebyuck from the Ice Caps? Maybe too soon but the guy is putting up some impressive numbers on a not so good ice caps team.

Bi polar is being realistic about the team?
-
Whole team sucked again. No playoffs this year. Time to think about trading some of our own ufa guys. Team hasn't looked the same since the all star break. Something ain't right. Guys must be injured. Think wheeler is,Ladd too. No depth.

How is Curran a miss when it sounds like they never wanted him. A miss to who exactly?
-
Has a lot to do with media. Kidding yourself if you don't think it does. Montreal Toronto are 2 places players don't want to go. Why? The media. Media plays a bigger role than the weather

I don't think so. Kane's character issues are well known and i don't think the Jets would have taken him. Burmi? Dude wasn't even ranked in the top 20.. Go check out 2010 and who went after him... Vladmir Tarasenko is one guy i bet the Jets would have taken instead but they seem to shy away from taking russians regardless. Don't think either guy would have been taken. Just an opinion but the character issues these 2 have, had/still have puts little doubt in my mind that the Jets would have picked someone else instead.

Leggett is definitely going to be the safety this season. I don't think there's really any doubt about that. The best part of the bombers D last year was their secondary, I include the safety in that group. Why mess with a good thing? Randle,Washington,Johnson,Bucknor,Leggett as far as i'm concerned are pretty much written in INK right now. I could see a guy coming in and taking Johnsons spot but the rest are pretty much going to be starting. LB's are a concern for sure but... Unamba looked good in his limited playing time last year, that Benton guy looks like a legit prospect for the MLB position, Sears could still sign, they have signed a few guys who look like they could be some pretty good players, Wright i believe his name is, looks like a protypical CFL LB'r. Hurl and Newman i think will surprise some people too. DL looks ok, Can't really compare what they were last year in a non traditional CFL D to what they will be this year. Anderson and Turner are a solid solid interior there. Noticed that when Zach went down, the play of the entire group did too. Looks like we still have a few prospect DE there too, with a new scheme, more traditional scheme, these guys could be very good. Once again lol, LB's are an issue but it's an issue they are well aware off. As for Ameet Pall, He is still listed on the roster. Who knows tho, there are a few guys on the roster i could see being released closer to the start of the season.

My key uncertainity with him is his fit in the lockerroom. Based on his history, has he grown more into a professional hockey player, team first attitude? How was that element of his game been in the KHL? Completely from a homer perspective, we're building something special here in how tight these players seem to be. Yes winning solves everything but even that isn't enough. Being here in Edmonton, there appears to be little chemistry within the Oilers team, loads of individual talent but no connection. The Jets are leaps and bounds ahead of the curve when it comes to this imo. My hunch tells me to dangle him in front of another team to allow us to tinker with a character we always need to add , i.e., proud to jersey regardless of 'you want me to play how', it's-30 degrees, there's lots of snow, jeez this Canadian Dollar, my kids can't go to the beach in February, etc etc Yup. Seems like the Atlanta GM at the time or scouts didn't really care about locker room chemistry or things like that, I mean, not picking on any players here but Kane and Burmi both have and at the time of their draft, had some severe character issues. I ask myself a few times if the Jets were drafting in 2009 or 2010, would they have taken these 2 players? And the answer i keep coming up with is NO, why? because the Jets take guys with high character, work ethic, hockey smarts.. Not saying Kane or Burmi don't have those traits but they seem to lack the high character that the Jets seem to concentrate on. Best to move these " me first" players. Burmi? You know what, he's a good player but i don't see him being more than a 3rd line center, some team could use him, it's not us tho. I don't see him signing here, but more importantly, i don't see the Jets wanting to bring him back here. People can talk about the issues he had with Claude Noel but from my understanding, his issues started when he was asked to go play in St Johns during the lockout, when he wanted to go back to Russia instead to play. Team asked him to go to St Johns, he reluctantly agreed too and then from all accounts, and from what some people in St Johns said during his time there, was awful and sulking around. That's not a player i'd want in my room. Trade him because these guys with these character issues are not what the Jets are trying to build around.

Kane being pretty classy there. Like Buffalo isn't a similar fishbowl, He's right tho, Winnipeg is a fishbowl, it's not due to the fans either, it's the media and their constant flip flopping they do, but a more mature professional wouldn't have even mentioned the "fishbowl". Kane obviously has some growing up to do still. Take the high road Evander like Bogo did. Don't diss the city you just played in, Thank the fans and the Jets and move on really.

Must win to say the least, playoff contenders or playoff pretenders? Jets need to beat these non playoff teams and beat them good. Make a statement. The Washington game was just bad overall, everyone was awful except Lowry. Hopefully tonight the rest of the team shows up and pounds the leafs. No excuses tonight, Leafs played last night and aren't good. Dion is still hurt so that leaf blueline is hurting. Planes vs Tanks tonight.

Hockey Players Dont Want To Play In These Cities....
Goalie replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
It's the media that's the biggest issue in canada -
Burmi could only play this year if he signed by December. He didn't. He's a rfa tho when his contract in the K is up this season. Jets property
-
3rd rounder at most. But in 2 weeks when we are out of the playoff picture. Who do we move? Frolik? Slater? They are UFA. Stafford too? It's a question that needs to be asked
-
More wrong this game than just pav. In 2 weeks Jets won't be in a playoff spot.
-
12 shots through 2 and about 12 penalties
-
Jets only have 24 ROW too. Non OT or Shootout Wins. The teams behind them have more. 27 for LA for example. That's the first tie breaker if teams are tied at the end
-
Pav last 7 games 3-3-1 911 save percentage Hutch 3-2-2 893 save percentage. Pav has been slightly better the last 7 games actually. Big fan of Hutch but this surprised me a bit when i read their records and save percentage over the last 7 games.

Apparently Bergenheim has fallen out of favor in Florida, The Coach Gerald Gallant apparently is not a big fan of his. Apparently Bergenheim doesn't always give 100 percent at all times, Not sure how true this is as i watch zero florida games but i'd suspect Bergenheim could be had for pretty cheap actually. Lebrun also reporting the Jets have interest in another Florida UFA to be, Thomas Fleischmann. Trades like this, I'm all for, you won't have to give much up and these guys are UFA's at the end of the season so they can walk really... and it's not a big deal really. Postma plus a late pick might be enough actually. Winnik, apparently leafs want a second for him, if Winnik could be re-signed, i might pay that but.. I'm not sure he would be willing too. Maybe but... Doubt i'd be moving 2nd round picks and prospects for him. Our prospect pool is looking ok... Morrissey,Ehlers,Petan,Copp,Armia,Lemieux,Comrie are all some pretty solid prospects but after that.. It does get a little bit bare. I wouldn't move any of those guys out for a rental that's for sure. We are a bubble playoff team at the moment, the teams behind us are catching up... don't look now but LA has won 6 straight... we have played more games than the teams behind us too, they have games in hand on us, We are a bubble team for sure... would really suck to go all in and then not make the playoffs... but give up something that could help us in the future. This team seems to be built for sustained success, not just have 1 good season and that's it, they want to be good every year, be a legit playoff contender, not a bubble team fighting it out until the end of the regular season really.. I'm not sure it's wise to move prospects we are high on for UFA rentals at the moment. If we were having a year like Nashville has been, sure go for it but reality is, we are very much a bubble team right now and for as much as i want this team to make the playoffs, i'm not selling off the future when reality seems to indicate that for as close as we are to making the playoffs, there are teams behind us who are just as close as we are... I don't know. Jets need to go on a roll and win win win otherwise in a week or 2, we may be on the outside looking in.

How bout no trades? Ladd little wheeler Frolik scheif stafford/buff Bottom 6 tho needs help. Calvert and Winnik both fit Doubt they trade for a top 6 winger. Not one with years left on his deal at least. Maybe a rental but really not much top 6 rentals out there. Vermette is a center. He isn't what we really need. Reality says Chevy has made one player for players trade in his jets gm history and it was kind of forced. What makes anyone think we are gonna make another big name trade? Seriously. Not gonna happen. Eberle lucic guys like that. Not gonna happen unless they are available for cheap which they aren't
-
Postma won't get crap by himself. He's a throw in for sure. Postma Burmistrov together might get you something tho
-
Armia had a maintenance day actually. Not hurt
