  1. The problem might be the media has no idea about the rules also, the refs would have to explain to the friesens of the world what the rules actually are first.
  2. I wonder what the percentage is for the joe mack tenure, Everyone seems to think his drafting sucked... but i wonder if you just took the last 3 years and did percentages, where the bombers would rank overall I'll bet its probably closer to the top. 5 years means we are looking at mack kelly and 1 year of taman no? Remove kelly and taman and see what happens.
  3. Pretty sure 99.99% of officials wouldn't enjoy this. I think it might make them look a little more incompetent in the big picture. Are these guys trained to speak to the media? could you imagine a paul friesen type of guy asking these guys questions? It wouldn't be good at all.
  4. Regardless of how you look at this, we got a brand new stadium that will last for 40 50 years plus for 210 million. Hockey arenas cost more, Regina Stadium will be more. 210 million is good value really. Im actually amazed that it was built for so little to be honest. I'll take this stadium over the one in Ottawa and Hamilton that's for sure. I understand some people will complain cuz that's what they do but... 210 million for something that will be around for 50 years plus.. No issues here. Honestly, our tax dollars go towards lots of really ridiculous things that none of us have any use for. I'm not going to mention one thing that i think is a huge waste of tax payer money because that will open up a can of worms I'm sure.
  5. I've always been under the impression that referees should be seen and not heard (outside of making the calls during the game). I don't believe they should let them talk to the media afterwards. They really have nothing to gain. Post game interviews with referees, are the refs trying to become the stars now?
  6. There are about 7 or 8 receivers competing for one starting spot in my opinion (i think moore and denmark are locks) Of those 7 or 8, 2 are canadians in brescanin and renaud and actually feoli guidino. they are probably competing with each other for the backup non import spot. So that leaves you with johnson, kelly, garvin, barnes, urrutia and maybe i mised a guy or 2 competing for one starting spot, i guess tarver also but on the bb.com they have him listed as a rb. Surely one of those guys will step up and take kellys spot. Under the impression, one or 2 import receivers always come in and show they belong so im not too worried about that spot too much. I am somewhat surprised though that Kelly is still on the roster, that worries me a bit to be honest. I hope they take the guys who play the best in pre season and dont base this one who bellefeuille has a love affair with.
  7. went to one of these a year or 2 ago, really was excited to check it out too. It was probably the worst few hours of my life. The questions some of the "fans" ask, seriously, its just ridiculous. I think these things are a giant waste of time, i mean good on the team for doing it but i wont be there this year or ever again. Just seems like a huge waste of time. You really do get some people who really have no clue about anything. I guess, its more entertaining listening to the people ask questions and struggle to ask the question. Its almost like listening to lawless ask questions, stutter this, stutter that.. umm uhh eh oh ya for sure, umm hey what umm yeah u umm gonna umm do umm about the umm qb umm situation umm. "voice cracks". Entertaining but in my opinion, nothing significant ever happens. Its almost like the malaysian govt calling a press conference regarding the mh370. You basically get a whole lot of nothing.
  8. zac brown band is a pretty big concert too. It would be cool if they added more acts to that like florida georgia line and luke bryan (wont happen) But good for winnipeg for getting both these concerts, the beyone jay z thing aint for me but.... im sure it sells out. Id rather go to the country show to be honest. That sweet annie song is a darn good tune. lol
  9. I dont care about torts one way or another but... it does seem like he was set up to fail. It seems the canucks are having a hard time admitting this isnt 2011 any more. They seem to not want to admit that there time has passed, there window has closed. They seem to refuse to admit its time to rebuild. You can blame gillis, you can blame torts but this downfall started the minute the canucks became complacent and refused to accept that they just arent very good any more. Canucks seem to have this problem, i recall them holding on to naslund and those guys too long too, refusing to admit they were past their prime. Its happening again. The owner is also an issue as it seems he likes to run the team a little too much. When the owners get involved too much, this is what happens.
  10. So in other words you have no idea what you are talking about lol. Back in the Attitude era most fans were shilling out for both WWE and wcw ppvs. not as much as you think they were. Google it. I mean really. Put in wwe ppv buy rates and the first thing that pops up shows you the numbers have been consistent for the most part.
  11. In the seen this coming a mile away category, John Torterella was fired by the Canucks today.
  12. Especially since Aaron Kelly is still on our roster. Bellefeuille bromance? I'd rather bring in a reasonable prospect for a look in training camp, hell if we really need Kelly back I'm sure he'll be available. Don't even get me started on Aaron Kelly, I have no idea why he's still on our roster. For everyone that loved to rag on Jade Etienne, here's an import who tons of people seemed to fall in love with because of a few spectacular catches despite the fact that he actually produced LESS than a guy like Jade. If we're going to be competitive, we should be able to do much better than Aaron Kelly. oh c'mon. Get started.
  13. quick google search for the name jeffrey rabb brings up basically nothing http://www.jewishpostandnews.ca/features/1179-y-sports-dinner-honours-arch-honigman-and-jeff-rabb thats about it, this is if you ignore the articles about the bombers not wanting him. The only common thing between asper and rabb is they are both jewish, both own real estate developmental companies Pretty apparent this is all about the bombers wanting the CoW rep to actually be a CoW rep and not some random guy. I mean, its all well and good for this guy to be a board member, just dont think he really qualifies for the CoW rep, I dont think they'd have a problem if he was just a board member but this seems to be all about him not being an actual rep of the CoW. Not sure what the issue here is, the city requires a rep who represents the city, this guy doesnt. He isnt a member of city council, he's not on the epc, he isnt cao, he has got nothing to do with the day to day operations of the city. The seat has a pre requisite that rabb doesnt meet. Its really that simple.
  14. Guess releasing the american center probably means they will take one of lavertu or goosen. It is interesting that they worked out lavertu the other day and goosen yesterday and then release this guy today, must mean they are sold on both of them.
  15. Just saw this on twitter and was about to post it. Any real surprises there? Not really i guess.
  16. also happy to see the wild win, karma played a role there for sure. as the wild should have won game 5 also if not for a couple of poor non calls.
  17. why would anyone trade for jumbo joe, he has proved that when the games matter, he doesnt show up. Thats the sharks problem, their star players like thornton and marleau go missing when the games start to matter goaltending might be an issue but they only scored 1 goal last night....
  18. to be expected, first year of a new stadium, the next year you will see a drop off in attendance for sure. IMO, anything over 20,21000 is a good number for season ticket sales. If the team starts to play better, those numbers will go up. Really not surprised to here this at all, know quite a bit of people who arent renewing, their reasons are simple. Its either they have a new young family, just got married, had a baby etc or they really werent that big of fans to begin with and only got tix last season to be part of the first season at the new stadium. Again, anything over 20,21 k is a good number IMO.
  19. wouldnt the better solution here be the probably simplest one. Not sure how people would feel about this but... basically instead of riding free, you pay the 2.50 fare or whatever it is, 5 bucks get you there and back. I dont think people would have an issue paying 5 bucks to take the bus to and from bomber games, lots of people do it every day. Maybe they can come up with a bomber type go pass where you pay say 50 bucks for it and its good for one season of bomber football. 100,000 people lets say took the bus to get to games last year, (just a rough estimate and sure its the same people) but you times that by 5 bucks and thats a pretty nice chunk of change there they would make, probably enough to cover the costs of the buses, if not very close to covering the costs. 100,000 x 5 bucks = 500,000 dollars. How much are they looking for? cuz that right there pretty much is what they are looking for isnt it?
  20. how do you think so? because honestly i dont think he's very good.
  21. I think the names max caron and thomas miles should be names we familiarize ourselves with.
  22. They traded the 2nd rounder they got from us to Hamilton. oh right, the punter deal.. right. forget about that one. Then watman 8th and 18th then.
  23. why in gods name do you think guys like that would sign in Winnipeg exactly? Especially someone like Vanek. He can basically write his own ticket on any contender looking to add a piece like him, Winnipeg is so far down the list of places big names are going it's not even funny. disagree with this big time. Vanek has a home in minnesota, if miny didnt want him and he wanted to play close to home, winnipeg is a logical destination. This attitude that players dont want to be here is so toronto. Im sick of it, its not about the city at all, its about the team, this team starts winning and everyone will want to sign here.
  24. #2 for watman straight up? no thanks. #2 for watman sasks 8th and 2nd rounder that they got from us in the neufeld deal? id think about it. But definitely not straight up. We need canadian depth, if sask wants that pick bad enough, then they will have to offer more then just watman.
