[MERGED] BOMBERS ADD POSEY AND DAVIS TO PRACTICE ROSTER
Goalie replied to Fatty Liver's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Well. There is that fact that Portis actually has cfl experience. Look at Montreals QB situation without Crompton Marsh and Lefevour. All rookies -
I'd suspect a d man and maybe Justin Williams depending on what happens with stafford. Fro is gone. Belesky looking for 5 plus also so no

Cameron Marshall

Edmonton is on Byfuglien's no trade list. How do you know that for sure. It's likely but maybe not
-
Tell that to Ladd who signed b4 with us. Little wheeler Perreault tho who have all signed reasonable contracts. 5 plus for a 3rd line czecker ohhh c what I did there. .. not reasonable

I don't think they would let marve go, they obviously have designed a package for him. -

CFL.ca has more balanced highlights of the game. TSN is a disgrace. Tsn showed ONE play of ours. What a joke that channel is. I refuse to insult TSN after having to watch the NHL draft on sportsnet. Nothing TSN can do will make me as sad as having to watch sportsnet The NHL draft on sportsnet was awful, just so bad.. Really miss the TSN coverage for that one but... TSN was pretty bad with their coverage of the game yesterday. -

Here a short version... G B U Good Willy. How can you argue 22 of 25 Cotton. So shifty, unreal really Marshall - what a find, goaline back really. so much will to score its crazy Moore and Denmark - Both finished with the same amount of yards I guess this one can go under Willy but.. he spread the ball around nicely really.. used almost everyone Veltung- nice catch there in the first and a couple really good returns The D stopping the riders when they had too The Oline, looked a bit off at first but came together nicely... Gonna take a while for these guys to truly gel but.. when they fully do.... Special Teams coverage The BAD The D in the first half Durants Injury - man that sucks for him Bastien only being noticed when he went offside Lirims 2 kicks out of bounds but he did have some nice ones also The Ugly TSN cutting to Heenan during the play TSN cutting to a durant clip during the game Just TSN in general really TSN Did i mention TSN and their obvious love of all things riders?? The rushing yards against us The REALLY GOOD Breaking the 11 year drought in regina. -

I really like the Cotton Marshall combo, it truly is lightning and thunder there, cotton so shifty, so small he gets lost in there and those cuts he makes, wow man talk about breaking ankles and marshall, he's our goaline back, sask guys kept going for the big hits but he would bounce right off them, that one TD he had (woo hoo lock of the week ) was all effort there. Bouncing off tackles and just basically forcing and willing himself in to the endzone. I do have a little bit of a question or perhaps concern tho, and that was.. I'm not sure if it was just black messing up, it happens but.. bombers were like 2nd and 3 i think and they handed the ball off to pontbriand and got stuffed, might have been there only 2 and out all game, question is 1. was that pontbriand or did black just screw up and 2. if it was pontbriand, what the hell type of call was that? -
I'll just say this about the Oilers, they might be better but when you aren't very good in the first place, you can only get better, they can't really get worse and if they do get worse, wow, i don't know what to say. They added more youth to the roster, they have enough of it, Talbot might have been good in new york playing behind a very very good top 5 D, that edmonton D is bottom 5, regardless of looking to the future, Klefbom isn't a legit number 1, not yet atleast.. Nurse is a prospect still, Schultz is terrible defensively, Reinhart has never played a game in the league... They need to add a veteran or 2, they probably will via free agency, i don't think they are done yet making moves, i hope they aren't, they are my second fav canadian team but... I think they still have a long ways to go. Adding more youth and a backup goaltender who played behind one of the best defensive teams (maybe the best) in the league doesn't change much. They have all the skill in the world there but... at the same time, they lack lots of things too. Will they be better? More than likely cuz how can they be worse really. You look at Edmonton, You look at Buffalo and ofcourse you say they got better, but the thing is... how could they have gotten worse really?
-
I don't think so, i think the riders are in big big trouble.. it's not about losing durant, it's about the depth they have behind their canadian starters. It doesn't exist. That's why they are in for a long year, Glenn is ok, he will be fine but... if they have any more injuries to their canadian starters (2 of them got hurt last night and so did a depth player in demski) how do you say this, they are up shits creek without a paddle really.
-
Gotta also keep in mind about the 2011 draft, that was the year the team was moved here in like 2 weeks and then the draft was like a week or so later. Not much time there really, kind of a fly by your seat of the pants draft... Jets have drafted very well and honestly, i bet if they won the cup and picked 30th, they would still grab a gem of a player.

Odds and Sods - Game 1 - Bombers at Riders

I'm just gonna say... Even with Durant i think the riders were gonna have a tough year, they lost so many guys this off-season, not just that but the depth on their roster is so weak it's crazy... Just last night, Demski went down, Emry went down,Mcdougall went down, They don't have the depth to replace these guys really. Glenn is a good insurance policy but... even with Glenn at the helm, it's going to be a long year for the riders due to their lack of depth. Apparently they started 8 canadians, well, 2 starters went down with injuries and one other canadian in demski went down with an injury too. It's gonna be a long year in "greenland". stupid rod black, welcome to greenland.. really buddy? You know some american is watching going the cfl has a team in greenland? -

was it 212 rushing? thought it was over 250 actually. You sure the 212 wasn't the passing yards? -
I don't think Edmonton had a very good draft at all, yeah they got McDavid but he's just one player, one player won't make the difference. Talbot behind that D? I'm not sure he will be as good as they think he will be, 16 and 33 for Reinhart is a massive overpayment for sure... Outside of McDavid, Edmonton didn't really do much. It's not about taking one player cuz one player never makes the difference, it's a team sport, it's not baseball where it's basically pitcher vs batter, it's a team game, McDavid might be good but he can't win games by himself, might look good playing against 18 year olds but whats gonna happen when he gets nailed hard and believe me, he will be. I would put Edmonton near the bottom, they were gifted McDavid, he was the consesus number 1, you can't screw that pick up but if any team can, it's the oilers but regardless, taking a guy who is expected to go first? That's not having the best draft.. that's just taking the best player. Buffalo? Yeah they had a good day tho... giving up 21 for Lehner was a steep price tho but... Getting Eichel and O'reilly is definitely having a good day.. But really they only drafted Eichel, again a guy who you can't screw up on, he's consesus number 2.. Put it this way, if Wpg picked first, they'd have taken Mcdavid, If any team picked first it would be mcdavid, you can't screw it up, 2nd? those teams (name them all really) would have taken eichel.. That's not having a good draft, that's just picking the 2 best players or the 2 guys who they say are the best.

I might go as far to say that we were the best team all week-end (going back to thursday even) in regards to the new contact rules.

If you give Veltung his kick return TD on that very weak but always called block the game isn't as close as it seems. It's shocking to me how close the Time Of Possesion was tho, thought the bombers dominated the TOP. but really just had the ball for an extra minute really.. Thought it was way more as we seemed to always drive the field, go 2 and out just once i think... long drives, eating up lots of time but... guess riders had some time consuming drives too. A big Victory in my opinion for sure... we were 4 for 4 in the redzone. That's huge. And you know what... it always seems like the winning team in the CFL is the one who turns the ball over the least, we didn't turn the ball over, sask did once on a drive they probably would have got a fg out of, that's the difference. But honestly, the run game stuff, if it happens vs Hamilton, i'll be a bit more concerned but... regardless of what people say, Messam owns us and Allen is a damn good back too. Big time running yards but at the end of the day, it's irrelevant since we won and the other thing, when it mattered the most, the D stepped up and stopped SASK... yeah it would be nice if they didn't give up those 4 or 5 big plays but... they did but at the same time, outside of those big plays, i don't think sask did much else. It was either big play or nothing for them.

Or even a 1st round pick, lol... desperate times call for desperate overpayments... bear woods would be sick, even mike edem would be good to have... That 1st round pick tho might be just as nice too since Montreal is gonna suck.
