phaneuf is ok, but at 7 million a year, he'd have to play first pairing minutes and we'd be in trouble. Look at the leafs the last 2 years, massive choke jobs.. dion captain of the team, they probably wont move him cuz nobody will give them what they want for phaneuf but if he is moved, i highly doubt winnipeg is even interested. Doesn't make much sense from a jets perspective here at all.

name 3 of those talented players, all i got is parker. That's it. The other is a guy who had a good mini camp and hasn't played a down in the CFL. I mean i agree that i don't think he will be our next season, but what "talented players" did we cut exactly? we have cut potenitally talented (based on a mini camp) players and a guy who played 8 games in 2 seasons.

I'm not, its the CFL draft, these trades never happen. Maybe you will see a team trade their first and 2nd to a team in the top 3 tho for their first. I wouldn't expect anything too earth shattering.

Cauchy sucked last season but lets not pretend that the entire D didnt suck cuz they certainly did. Outside of the dline and henoc and wild, the rest all pretty much sucked. I see a few suggestions that the D sucked because our O sucked so bad, but i recall a few games where our O couldnt get on the field barely because the other teams would march at will vs our D. We have always had pretty good Defences here, last year we did not. Not many guys left from last years team it seems... Really on D, you got turner,anderson, i'm going to include vega, wild,washington,dunn,markett and sears plus a bunch of role players (dan west and the sorts) Pretty apparent that cauchy wasn't our only issue on D last season.

rumors are the leafs are looking for a top 6 forward, preferably a centre. so i doubt the leafs would make a move for bogo. They would want a kane or little or someone like that. A top 6 forward.

I'm not sure ETCH lasts the season but... with that being said, if he fails, he will have no excuses. I'm fine with ETCH having a say in who plays on our D, after all he is our D coorinator and should have a say. No square pegs in to round holes here it seems, if you don't fit his scheme, you are gone. I dunno right, it's not like our D was anything special the last couple seasons and that was with tim burke and creehan running the show. If ETCH fails, i do think he will fail also, there will be no excuses, he will fail cuz the players he wanted failed. I'd be a little more concerned if our D was actually any good the last couple seasons, they really weren't tho outside of the dline.

I don't buy it, Jets need defensive d men not offensive d men who suck. Shocked that parker was let go, like others have said, must not be fully healed from his injury. Maybe shocked isn't the right word though, I almost want to say I'm not surprised even, the team wasnt very good last season or the year before so i guess it makes sense to release guys who were part of the losing culture. It is odd to me though that a guy like aaron kelly and tariss paliwodda are still on the roster tho.

Michael Sam taken in the 7th round by the rams. I don't watch too much NCAA and i'm not too familliar with this SAM kid, only really recognize him because he came out as being gay. But did notice he was the sec defensive player of the year.. so a question to those who know more.. why did teams take guys from programs not as good as where SAM came from and who werent named defensive players of the year in their conference over him? was it because of SAM coming out? or is it true that he just isn't that good overall.

Sounds like both Lavetu and Goosen are our guys, sounds like one of the two will be a blue bomber next season. Will it be the natural centre? or will it be the centre who can play guard also? It's an interesting dilemma here actually. The Bombers need a olineman, specially a centre but really more specially a centre and a guard really... i mean greaves is one guard but who is the other? swiston? pencer? we just don't know. maybe dan knapp? i have no idea, not sure they do. So really we need a centre yes but it wouldnt kill us to have a guy who can play guard too. Sounds like Goosen could be our centre but he could also be our starting guard opposite greaves also.
