A lot. This guy still isn't getting the respect he deserves, and I'm not even talking here. TSN, Sportsnet, the papers, Nichols in general seems to still have the game manager tag on him. I have to think some of it comes from our play calling and how stupidly conservative we can get, and that's understandable I guess if your a fan of another team and just catch a quarter or two. But for full time analysts and our own fans, this guy isn't Matt Dunigan but he sure as hell isn't Garza or Dinwiddie. 

Nichols finished last night with a QB rating of over 120, 4 touchdowns, 300+ yards, and 64% throwing. Yet you would think that he needs to elevate his game if you read some of the posts from the game thread. So yeah, I'm going to make a Matt Nichols bandwagon because after watching a long line of terrible quarterbacks (including the anointed Drew Willy) I like winners. And Nichols is a god damn winner.

   

I think we get a few less turn overs this year but that's off set by a few more sacks.

?‍?Anxious to see the game between the Riders and Montreal on Thursday. Not for the obvious reasons but to see Duron Carter and his highly touted blocking skills. It seems like only yesterday when we first saw the signs of his blossoming skill. He took out HC Rick Campbell with barely a touch. Imagine what he could do if he imagined the enemy was Rakeem Kato.

Short practice today, lots of chirping from the dbs. Only pick I saw today was by number 78, not on my program, believe it was a rifles player.
Dresser and Denmark just get open everywhere. Defence looked strong again today, everybody flying to the ball. 
Davis threw a beautiful corner route to Yachison right over the shoulder, beat Roc by an inch for a touchdown. 
Gonna be real close between Davis and Lefevour for backup imo. 
Defensive tackles came to the sidelines, Really like our Canadians, really like Ekakitie and Rupert Butcher is absolutely massive. Knocking over the sled with a club every time. If Butcher can improve his footwork, look out.
nothing much else, all the reporters were there, Wicek spent the whole time talking about anything but football and was sitting behind the players wearing his dress clothes and lofers in +30 so I don't know how he could see anything. Formal apology to Bob Irving he and Tait were both there watching the whole time along with Bauming as well.

I was there today and I completely agree with Taiter. Apodaca will definitely be fun to watch this TC. Strong arm, mobility and shows confidence. Count me as an instant fan.

I'm not able to be there today but I feel confident to offer this Day 2 of Rookie Camp Report: MOS and the coaching staff are still excited. There are lots of guys who are flying around, showing a ton of energy. The QBs all made some good throws and some bad ones. Some receivers are catching everything and others are suffering from the dropsies.

Now we're excited to sign Spencer Watt...?  An undersized journeyman receiver coming off his worst career season after an achilles injury...

Winnipeg added Branning to their negotiation list shortly after that NFL regional, meaning the Bombers control his CFL rights.
?‍?And this week's bit of Jones/Riders buffoonery involves their sniffing around QB -Michael Vick. I swear, I have a tough time keeping up with all these tidbits of unvaluable (sic) information that's pumped out every week since Jones has been hired. This is the best that those multitude of rabid scouts can come up with? Or is it just standard fare to keep the Rider forum buzzing?

Need an upgrade at D Line, Linebackers, and another big receiver. Gurley may fit the receiver role if he's back for training camp.
All of the teams in the playoffs right now are better that we are at these positions. Pressure on the QB and stopping the run seem to be areas where an  upgrade could move us to the next level.

My thoughts....
Its going to be tough to fire the DC for a team that won the turnover stat and did it quite handily.  How can Walters keep this team together?  There will be a few raises required this off season.   It's going to take a sharp pencil.  Have we found our #1 QB for the next few years?  I believe we have but as always we still need to look hard and far for the next one. When will Miller announce that Walters has signed an extension and how long after that will O'Shea's extension be announced? I don't think Lapo is seriously considered for any HC openings this off season.  I think it's well known that he can be a great OC but an average at best HC. Do we trade one of our 1st round pics? I think there's a good chance we do. And finally...why does Jim Bender hate the Bombers? Did Miller sleep with his wife?  This guys an ass clown on Twitter after during and after games.      

That was one hell of a football game. Our offence was spot on. Special teams, defensively, was spot on. We took their starting receivers out of that game...in more than one way. Our penalties were minimal. I'd say the only reason we lost that game, never mind calls or dropped balls, was poor tackling. It killed us. The guys were there in position and lost the yardage battle. But I tell you what, after that game, I feel like we can compete with anybody.
