idk about houston. he got beat twice bad, once for the td, and he missed atleast 3 bad tackles. Dropped the pick. I want the guy to succeed though, his story hits hard. Hope he plays great when called up again.
Mourtada woulda been one of mine if he made the last fg.

It arguably improves the interior of the line... which could mean more Harris which slows down a pass rush bigtime anyway.

Some serious clown content from Walker in that article. I guess he needs to brush up on his CFL history.
One of the most unforgiving defensive units in decades and his response is, to quote Shania Twain: "that don't impress me much."
A top tier receiver who's only managed 59 yards in two games against this defense... And now he's given them more fodder for tonight's matchup.

Asked what impresses him most about Winnipeg’s defence: “Not much at all. They have a great front, which makes it a lot easier for the defenders.”
Walker went on to say it’s not one of the better defences he’s seen.
“I wouldn’t say one of the better defences. I’ve come across a lot of good defences that play very, very well. But they’re a very, very solid defence.”
The score was 30-3 in Winnipeg last week. A week earlier, 30-9 in B.C..
Six times in nine games, the Bombers have yielded less than 10 points.
“We’ve been killing ourselves every game offensively,” Walker said.
“Nothing that Winnipeg has been doing has been putting us in a situation to not win.”

We also had Josh Miller getting burned and missing tackles left and right in our one loss against the Argos.
Basically every bounce went Toronto's way and we still likely would have won if a few iffy calls didn't go against us.

Can we really claim to be the best team in the league if we haven't beaten Ottawa or Montreal?

Shrewd move to nail home your value in negotiations.
I am hoping the Bombers have a contract in the drawer for Medlock to come take a 3 week vacation up here and win a Cup.

To be fair Bell took 123 million in Canada emergency wage subsidy before laying off employees and raising their dividend rate on their stock. Maybe not smart on O'Toole's part, but criticism has definitely been well earned.

QFT. Any one who thinks igf west is in the top 50 football venues in north america has never seen any d1 or big HS game down south.
I cant imagine they are letting him go. he's pretty well liked in basketball, and the old people sports.
100%. The only diversity balance I noticed in the stands at the LDC was the amount of gingers to none gingers. Lets also not forget that Coach hall openly claimed ssk as the most racist place he's ever coached. Lets keep in mind he spent most of his career in edmonton, and was born in south texas in 1960.
Is IGF west one of the nicer stadiums in the cfl? Sure, for a toilet bowl shaped venue its in the top tier. But its also one of 2 stadiums in canada built for the CFL only.

What a terrible article. Wow, I mean an all time stinker.
"On a warm Sunday afternoon in early September, the 2021 game was played in Regina’s beautiful new Mosaic Stadium , one of North America’s best venues."
It goes on to say the rider fan base is the perfect mix of diversity, from gender to race. It paints a picture of the league and country falling apart as the riders lost. As if "canadas team" and their false hope held the league and country together. And it just drones on and on and on.

    2013- mulumba
    2014 -Goossen
    15- Chung
    16 - Corney
    17 - forfeited for Wolitarsky I think?
    18 - Geoff Gray
    19 - no pick
    20- Desjarlais
    20 - Kongbo

That's every first round pick since Walters has taken over. Saying the draft is a crapshoot might be a little harsh, but it's certainly not your key to finding franchise players like it is in every other professional sport in North America.

All I'm saying is you don't sacrifice championships over future draft picks.
If there's a deal on the table for futures for a reliable kicker at the cost of even a first round pick - it has to be done. IMO, of course.

I love this idea. Want to see how the average armchair kicker handles the boos when they miss one, or gets 12 pages of hate speech on MBB describing how useless they are.
O’Shea is keeping him for now, has identified the issue as an alignment one that is being worked on. Like it or not, he is the coach, and to quote the movie Moneyball, he is the man, he answers to no one but management and God. And given where he pulled this club from and where they are in the league at this moment, he’ll get my patience and acceptance if not my thunderous applause and unwavering approval at this time.

I think the great key to our success is knowing our team as much as it is knowing the players. Lots of teams can look and see talent. Some teams can predict how talent will project in the CFL. But no team is doing a fraction of the job the mafia is at projecting players fitment into their cfl roster.
When the bombers draft a guy, they know what role that guy will fill if they succeed. They know how to deploy them and it fits with what we do. Many times, my self and others have gone oh I wish we drafted that guy! And some times that guy is indeed a good cfler. But not soo much a good bomber. Some times of course other teams pick guys we'd love before we can, but over all we do an exceptional job picking guys who will fit what we do as a pro.
And just like the players fit the team, the mafia fit each other. Wade, walters, mos, and all the rest. They are all in sync.
In his book "the score takes care of it self", bill walsh talks about his first changes when he took over the 49ers job. He instituted standard operating procedure for every single job. It didnt matter if it was janitorial, receptionist, or QB. Every job was held to the same standard of excellence, and every member of the franchise was expected to fit the mold. The whole book is basically about winning culture. Id strongly recommend it for any bomber fan, the style of culture building is exactly like what the bombers have done.

I fgeel bad for Matt Nichols. That shoulder injury he suffered was brutal. It has essentially ended his career. I don't think he'll ever play again. He's up in the booth "helping out" the RedBlacks. Hopefully, he gets into coaching as he has a lot of knowledge to pass on to younger players.
Mark Nelson's knees are shot. I used to walk like that before my knee replacement.

Also, its kind of ironic with how much trash was talked about yamasaki in BC that we now have a worse kicker.
Can you Imagine if we stay the course like this, and mourtada wins a ring kicking at 40%? Westies head would explode

I remember a kicker (maybe Westwood) saying that kickers get razzed in practice all the time, the whole “not really a football player” rap, but when the game is on the line and they are trotted out there to win or lose it, all exposed, every other player on the team has said to him “no way would I want that kind of solo attention on myself with the whole game resting totally on my shoulders”. The good kickers thrive on that pressure, wanting that spotlight. Other players make mistakes a lot more than kickers, receiver running a bad route or dropping a pass, QB throwing an INT, o-line misses a block, DBs fail more often than they succeed based on QB completion percentages, but none of them get screamed at to be cut after an error or two or three in a game. And even if a kick is blocked or the snap is bad or the hold fails, it’s the kicker who gets booed. Not making excuses for Mourtada, who has been objectively subpar, and it is the individualized nature of a kicker position that they are less a part of a whole unit like other positions, but I don’t think any other player on the team is thinking “I never would have gotten away with mistakes like him.”
