I agree with this. We all tend to see things through lenses that suit our needs! Having said that, the Bombers don't catch any more (or less) breaks on average than any other CFL squad. Yes, for the second time in 6 weeks, a disputed call went in our favour. And for the third or fourth time in two weeks, other critical disputed calls also went in favour of the opposition (PI against Leggett (instead of against Coehoorn) vs Edm, phantom block from behind with no bearing on the play wipes out Fogg's return TD - for the 4th time this season, no less! (vs Edm) - phantom illegal contact against Heath sets up BC late in game for TD, Arceneaux doesn't survive contact with ground, ruled catch). So, not "long overdue for break" for sure, instead just exactly as much as due for a break as anyone else.

Yeah, fair enough. I think what seems strange though - as White Out points out - is all the apparent outrage and use of superlative language (i.e. "BC got burned, man!") by MIlt/Matty etc. I mean, the time of the game clearly magnifies the situation but, my gawd man, Arceneaux draws an absolutely critical illegal contact late in the game (on Heath) which directly results in 7 instead of 3 and the panel has nothing to say about that?! I was at the game and so admit I only saw the replay on the big screen but it certainly looked like Manny just fell. And, as White Out points out, there are judgement calls like this every game. The one against Leggett at the end of the first half against Edm - i.e. yeah, you know, the one that should have been offensive PI against the Edm player - was a total game changer. These things have a way of evening out and the so-called "fumble" by Harris was less blatant (a total 50/50 type situation) than MANY of the examples cited. So, really, let's at least lose all the righteous indignation on the part of the panel on behalf of poor maligned BC...

I get that it is our nature to focus in on one play because it was late in the game and the refs were involved, however the reality is football is won and lost over 60 minutes.
What caused BC to lose this game was a series of events. Maybe their downfall was Jonathan Jennings inability to protect the football, or their team not showing up until down 24-3 and not playing 4 quarters, or their players and coaches being so unprepared as to fall for 2 fakes on the same drive, or their insane decision to run east-west on third and one and the game on the line. 
The refs and the breaks will always play a big part and maybe the Bombers got one. But looking at this game over 60 mins, there are many reasons why the Bombers came out ahead. Great game that could have went either way but full credit for the win. 
 

The rule and ruling are separate issues.
Take the emotion out of the call.
Its quite simple. There was a ruling on the field. There was insufficient evidence to overturn the ruling. The call on the field stands. If it was ruled a fumble..the same command decision would have been handed down. Insufficient evidence to overturn.
S**t happens.

Nichols to me is one of the best "game manager" QBs we've seen in ages... knows when to toss it away, when to try and go deep and rarely puts the ball into a bad situation when he can avoid it.  we can most definitely win with him behind centre with the way he protects the ball.   He's also capable enough to make plays on his own to extend drives.  He may not be flashy like Jennings or Collaros can be but he's definitely a QB we can build and rally around for now.

When one whole leg is nearly flat on the ground and the ball comes out it is hard for me to call it a fumble. They called an Arcenaux juggling act a catch and allowed either Fogg or Dressler to be tackled out of bounds. Seems that BC doesn't have much to whine about as the game could have easily gone a lot worse for them. They lost the game on a bad play call on third and one and several failed red zone series. They should be looking at the things they did wrong not one call by the officials. The officials did not cost them ****.

I still think the Refs screwed up the review because the whistle had clearly been blown before the fumble....which happens all the time when forward progress has been stopped and they are all jumping in there..the play was dead.

how many times have we been ****** over HARD in the last 20 years? How many times has the league had to apologize to the team? 

Watching at home it was pretty obvious that the whistle blew b4 the ball came out. I even said to my girlfriend that it's bomber ball cuz the whistle blew.  Rod black was pretty convinced that Harris fumbled and that kind of put me at ease cuz he's wrong most of the time. Announcing was pathetic. They basically verbally jerked off the Lions and especially buono all game long. Refs were just awful also. 

I was sitting at the 5 yard line directly parallel to the play.
1. His momentum was halted before the ball came out.
2. The whistle blew, clearly ending the play before the ball was out.
3. Harris' rear end hit the ground at the same time as the ball came out, and the ground can't cause a fumble.
4. There was nothing you could categorize as definitive on the replay, and definitive evidence is required to overturn a ruling on the field.
Finally, the TSN panel - i.e. Matt, Chris, and - yes, 'fraid to say - even our own Milt - are full of it. They were watching from the studio, not at the game so they could not have heard the whistle. I also think it's pretty bush of them to call out the refs with the specious argument that this was a clear cut call that "burned BC". On what basis do they make this argument?! What a load of hooey! At worst, it was a 50/50 call that went against BC (hey, some do) and the 4 points noted above push it conclusively in the Bombers' favour. There, that was definitive.

He won one challenge and lost one, so he didn't have any left.

I agree with everyone's HHs but another named I'd like to throw out was jake thomas.  The kid had a great game.  He was right in the middle of a few plays that resulted in loss of yards

I cannot describe how big a play Moe Leggett had in that tres exciting game. Play of the game, week, and month. Never mind his stellar play in the game itself. Big int. And to come back into the game after being injured. What a player.

From what I could see of the replays, there was no conclusive proof that the ball was torn out of Harris' hands before his butt hit the ground, but even if it was a bum call, the Arcenaux "reception" as he fell out of bounds juggling the ball should have been called.

So, in the twitter universe everyone is saying the Lions got screwed & that the ball was out. My response to that is **** the twitter universe. I think the whistle blew before the ball did come out. But the Bombers have been screwed over so many times by the officials that cost us games in the past even if it was a fumble, I don't care as it was about bloody time a call went our way.

Slightly remember at that time hearing that both teams were out of challenge's
