Context does not equal excuses.
I'm not agreeing with others who think Ford is a waste and Strev is great. Time will tell. But your argument is horribly flawed and takes away from the point you're trying to make while making you look like you don't know what you're talking about at all.
You're telling me Roberts is an all time great running back? When did he win MOC and MOP in the same year like Brady? How can an all time great RB not have any GC rings? Brady is much better than Roberts. (WITH CONTEXT THIS MAKES NO ******* SENSE).

Chis Streveler hasn't started 19 cfl games like Tre Ford. Just a handful. In that time, Ford has shown that he can't read a defense if his life depends upon it. If his first read is covered then he's lost & runs around like a chicken with his head cut off praying one of his receivers will play the scramble drill & get open. Of course one always does & it saves his bacon but that kind of play is unsustainable. That happened on one play on Saturday. Then the next play he throws a high pass & nearly gets his receiver killed. Another had his head taken off. Other passes were overthrown or in the dirt like he has no clue how to throw the ball.
Ford looks the same as he did the last two seasons. Like Little Boy Lost out there. There's been zero improvement in his play. By now, he should be making strides & showing improvement but he isn't. That should be concerning to the Elks as well as their fans.
He really should be playing 100% RPO as that's the only way he has a chance to be even a little bit successful. Yet, they expect him to throw from the pocket & it's a disaster. I don't know if Ford plays video games in meetings or is too lazy to study but he appears to have learned nothing in all the meetings & tutelage he has had since he was drafted by Edmonton. I'm glad he's in Edmonton & not here. He can stay there.
Streveler was never allowed to be a regular CFL qb under Buck Pierce who made him a role playing qb nearly killing him by being a run first qb. The game vs Ottawa last season at home showed what kind of coordinator Buck was the way he played Streveler & I'm glad he's gone.

Close enough that I think it was the right call & it was targeting. Refs have to call that on the field. They don't have the benefit of replays slowing it down.

also, I think Streveler gets a lot of shine from the fanbase because he's got a backup QB halo on him, and we will definitely see how that halo fits on Thursday.
Back in 2018-2019 he was making plays from the pocket just like a "real qb" .... but that was a long time ago.
me personally I'm rooting for Ford to take that next step because the CFL always needs more young QBs. We got a few real promising ones right now with Rourke, Alexander, and Brown ... would be happy to see Ford on that list too.

TSN producers really didn't want to bother showing any good replays of that hit.
Issue for tackler here is hit vs form. You launch yourself into a guys upper body in this era you're probably taking a penalty. You dive at his knee/shins without the guy having a chance to react, you're getting a penalty. So make a tackle with your chest plate and a wrap.
The launch here is the real problem. And any head contact is called. Doesn't matter at all what touched first or where the target was.

Contact with the head first IMO but it's almost simultaneous. Williams right shoulder is chin level at the moment of contact but comes down to chest level as he is exploding through. The receiver did duck into it a bit so I'm not sure what else Williams could have done.

100%.
but will he break ajs record for most rushing yards in their first game with a new team whose team name starts with R, and when the sun is up but not all the way out?

Brown's forte is finding open receivers and throwing accurate passes, but until his O-line provides better protection, he'd better make like Zach and be ready to roll out of the pocket at a moments notice. It's up to Condell to figure this out.

Getting stuffed twice on 3rd to start thr game is the most Buck Pierce way to start a HC career ever

Brown is also getting a fraction the support in offence Alexander is. If you swapped places I think brown would look insane and while Alexander would run for more yards he’d struggle more.
But at that, it’s great to finally see the next crop of young QBs stepping up in the league. Brown and Alexander are well above rourke imo in every thing but hype. But still that’s the best 3 young starting QBs we’ve seen in the league in a long time.

Injuries happen; it's not predictable. In his first five seasons as a starter, he missed a total of nine games. Last year he missed 8. I don't think injuries were a big factor in moving on from him. I think it's just the case that Clercius was ready to step into the same role for drastically cheaper and offer brilliant upside.
Sometimes you make a move that isn't good on paper at the time, woli (ended up signing cheap), stove, lawler, that ends up working out in the end because guys don't stay healthy or have a pile of issues. Other times, you make moves that are good on paper, bringing Lawler back, not chasing Couture, not chasing Desjarlais, that don't work out because of unforeseen issues or replacements not going as well as expected.
I'm a big believer that luck is the residue of hard work. A lot of our moves end up being fortunate, even if they weren't seen as great moves at first, because the front office is always grinding.
Probably right. Woli would play on one leg with no hands if you let him. And he'd still provide a more reliable target than a ton of guys. Personally, knowing what Woli got, I would've walked away from Demski and moved Woli/Clercius into a heavier targeted role, while saving in the range of 125k in salary. But I do get moving on from Woli.
It'll be really interesting to see what we want from WRs this year. Previously, Bourgoin, who was basically a clone of Lapo, seemed to have a big impact on the WR types.
From what little Hogan showed in camp and PS, I'm certainly expecting a more dynamic passing game with more YAC and more sweep/motions again.

Disagree. That is his strength.
He's on pace for almost 400 yards, 10 yards per pass. They are wasting effort on screens when they are just shredding Sask down the field. Rather be 2nd and long taking that shot than 2nd and long from a 0 gain by Stanback or a 3 yard screen.

Ottawa isn't committed enough to attacking vertically...which yeah results in Calgary style offense.
