That wasn't my interpretation of what Noeller said.
He seemed to imply not hiring (a potentially better candidate) because we have to show loyalty to someone who's been here.
If you're hiring who you have instead of the best candidate, I'm calling nepotism.
None of it matters right now, there isn't an opening to talk about, and I don't think Walters will have the same opinion as Noeller, but personally, I'm not really considering the feelings of my assistant coaches during hiring practices - all I'm saying.

We faced Evans in his first game coming in cold off the bench and we still had our butts handed to us.

Despite the setbacks in recent weeks, I expect the Bombers to win tomorrow.  Home game, in snowy, windy conditions.  Run game should feature more prominently.  Vernon Adams shouldn't be able to run roughshod over the secondary...if they show up.  Keep the turnovers to 2 or less, create 2 or more turnovers, run for over 175 yards...those are my hopes for the Bombers.  Likely a low scoring game.  Bombers 26 Als 17.

The irony of that statement is review the stats and the number of Bomber wins with 150 yds passing....

Our OL is nowhere near as strong with Neufeld and Desjarlais is still a weak link - don’t like sitting Gray at all...

Yep, we were lucky to win that game vs. Calgary earlier in the season.  They outplayed us.

    1. Our defense collapsed to lose against Toronto, Sask, and Montreal. It got destroyed against Hamilton. It is not good enough. Not personnel, not coaches.
    2. Oline has not been good. AH failed a drug test. Our receivers don't fight for balls and have too many drops. The QB'ing is inexperienced. Lapo's playcalling is predictable and easily defended against.
As fans we love our Bombers but we get carried away with a little success and think we are better than we really are. Then we are crushed when they fall back to earth. We are an average team and our record will reflect that in the end.
What some folks around here can't seem to accept is that if Walters and O'Shea were as good as those people think they are, after six years we should be much better than just an average team. We aren't.
We need great players and great coaches that know how to get the most out of those players. We need superior game planning and swift, effective in-game adjustments. We need player development strategies that produce future stars and we need accountability from players and coaches alike.
There is no doubt our players and coaches want to win and win badly. The problem is so does everyone else and some of those people do a better job at building winning football teams than we do. Until we, as an organization, find a way to get the best of those people working for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers we are going to continue to see results like one playoff win in six years.
Wade Miller, our patience has worn thin and you are now out of time. How much longer is this going to take?

I find it amusing how people speculate and rationalize how games are won and lost....or should have been won. There are no pictures on the scorecard only Ws and Ls....how you get them isn’t relevant to the final outcome. Football is a combination of 4 factors, O, D, ST and Turnovers. Any combination of those things can result in a win or loss.

In both losses, the Riders got the most out of their limited talent, that is good coaching. The Bombers are once again under-achieving which imo is a direct reflection on our coaching. Something has to give.

Yes, I think there's an argument that each year the team has been better than the one the year before. Walters has improved the talent on this team especially in the first few years. O'Shea and his coordinators improved the coaching. Eventually the progress seemed to plateau and is now trending down. We are an average team with average players and average coaching. In my opinion, to get to the next level, we will need better players and better coaches.

Lapo is likely gone.  Hire Dinwiddie who is regarded as an up-and-comer for several year as the OC.  He has been coaching now for 7 years, 5 of those with one of the best in Dickenson.  We hired an unproven special teams coach to be head coach here 6 years ago.  Now it's time for some fresh blood at the OC position.
Sign Arbuckle as he already has a repoire with Dinwiddie and has displayed far more potential than Streveler up to this point.  Sign Strev as well, as based on his performance up to this point, he will not command much on the open market (of course, this may change in the final 3 reg. season games and playoffs).
Nichols can be shown the door.  His performance has been wanting for the most part the past 2 years.  When the running game is stopped he does not have the ability to lead this team to victory.  We have seen this time and time again from him against the good teams ie. earlier this year in Hamilton, Last year's final against Calgary.  Add in his shoulder injury and the likelihood he will decline further is that much greater in 2020.  It's time to move on.

Without looking strictly at wins and losses, is it fair to say that each team (each year) has been better than the one the year before, for each of MOS's seasons here...? Even without a GC win, has it been progressively better each year?

I'm good with firing Lapo. And Hall. But, shouldn't the coach who supported them so long take some of the heat for this? It's not as if this season's struggles are a surprise. I bet you could go back on this board one year ago and find almost the exact posts dumping on Lapo and Hall. Shouldn't a good head coach take some of the blame for doing the same thing but expecting different results?
Not an easy decision for Walters, Miller and all. I'm just saying, if I were them, I'd seriously consider cleaning house. Or at a minimum, new coordinators and O'Shea on a short new contract, which he may not accept.

I like O'Shea. But, it looks like given the way the Bombers are going, we're one and done in the playoffs. So, that takes O'Shea's overall record to around .500 regular season (I get the first two seasons he had a bad team), and 1-4 in playoffs. So, I'm curious, at what point as an organization do you say, that's not good enough? I don't know specifically who I would want as a potential replacement, but, I do know as Wade Miller or the Bombers board, I'd have a hard time selling this to the paying fans. As a ticket paying fan myself, I'm not really satisfied with basically continuing down this path of mediocrity. And even if he's a good coach, and he is, maybe he's not the right coach for us right now. His particular flaws are not serving the Bombers. I think the players and organization might need a new voice and some fresh eyes. Happens in sports all the time. Happened with the Alouettes. Could happen with us with a change.

No the team in 2000 turned around near the midway point when Khari supplanted Bell as the starting QB.  5-3 in the final 8 games of the season.  They also won in the east semi-final over the Ti-Cats before losing in the east final.
