He's still pretty new and has had to bounce around. He played well before at CB but didn't have a good game yesterday.
MOS likes him and that says something. I'm willing to give him more time but would prefer he's replaced by Alexander, when he's healthy.

With injuries EDM on the road was ripe for the picking. Harris and OTT still couldnt get it done. That's telling.

2009 does not encapsulate all of who Mike Kelly is as a person or a coach, any more than 1994-98 does for me.  These are chapters in a much longer story.  He is very likely capable of both coaching football and not denigrating people just to make himself look better, even if he failed to do so in 2009.
My feelings on him and that season have been stated often.  They aren't remotely positive.  Time has not lessened the 5 alarm tire fire that 2009 was.
I have no ill will towards him.  I hope he has 40 healthy grandchildren, or whatever number seems appropriate.  But I have no desire to talk about him.  Or think about him.  With over 7 billion people on this planet that should be possible, even easy to do.  I've simply moved on.

All joking aside... good for him, it's always nice to hear a positive recovery story... and then see him go on to help others... I have gained a new level of respect for Rod Pederson (the man, not the football analyst )...

On every major call...? I think you're sucking back on too much tainted Pilsner if you believe that.
The officiating has been a disaster every game, so to suggest one team has benefitted from it more than any other is flat out absurd.
And just to be clear: your joke of a team has dug its own grave. If you need to rely on other teams to lose when yours is sitting idle, your team obviously stinks.

That play was way worse than the one on Ricky Ray at the end of the Bombers/Argos game, and the Bomber player got fined for that.

A 2/1 TD/Int ratio is not horrible.  Not great but not horrible either.  It's the timing of his picks that are killing the Bombers this year.

Lol.  Ottawa finishes under .500 in a weak East, Bombers finish 11-7 in a tough West and that's what we have to strive for?!?!
Credit Ottawa for getting hot when it counts but they are hardly a juggernaut as this season is proving.

We can kick this around until the gin kicks home.........
The deal is....that until we figure out a way to be prepared to get out of the gate to start games......and also play to win not lose, with leads...

    We are simply pretenders.
Until we start doing the things.... that real contenders do.

The throw by the kicker was a dumb play, but that entire series was pure dumbassery too. That stupid ******* play on first down where they faked to one guy and handed if off to another was stupid considering how much trouble the interior of the OL was having that game. Then going down field on 2nd down was pretty stupid too. That was the time for one of Lapos patented play the field position calls. Had a lead, were pretty far in our own zone, seems to me the smarter play was try and get some yardage back on 2nd down and punt from a better position and trust the D. Instead we lost yards on the series then turned it over on a gamble at the stupidest time of the game to gamble.
This team is capable of playing well but they still make too make flat out dumb decisions in game and it holds them back. An offense that thinks it's OK to only play 2 quarters a game certainly doesn't help either. Nichols needs to be better than he has been this year cause that last INT was a dumb dumb play too.

I agree.  I think we have the personnel to be competitive in the west.  Chicken **** coaching with the lead cost us this game.

Nah BS, your reply is the definition of an inferiority complex and the comforting acceptance of mediocrity, to say this team can not be equal to Edm. or Cgy. 4 years into the regime is ludicrous.  They demonstrated that they were a good team last year and played equal with those two teams, I expect them to be a better/smarter team this year and not repeat the same mistakes they made in the WSF by easing off the throttle and blowing a sizeable lead.  I defer to O'Shea and Walters to make the right personnel decisions to improve the team as they seem to be on the right track.  What they lack at this point is the conviction to win, smart in game coaching and a fire in the belly to get the job done.

    Hindsight.
I bet if you rewind the clock to october 2016 many RB fans were complaining just as you have been all season long after every loss, which occurred more than they won.  and despite the gaps between the rough riders - renegades - redblacks  ottawa fans have dealt with futility for long periods as well (last winning the cup in 1976) and some **** owners like the gilbermans.
IMO as much as it would be nice We don't need to be the best team in the league,  we need to be competitive, which other than the calgary game this year we have been.  Just make the playoffs and beat the riders every chance we get. It's not asking for much.

    I assume you mean 2014?
BUT.. I really F'n hate when people use the Redblacks as a measuring stick of where you should be...
I'm sure if every other team got to draft players off opposing rosters they would likely be better sooner than later as it cuts out the need to scout quite a bit as your acquiring CFL experienced players immediately.
They might have sucked in year 1, had a good year 2,  but in year 3 they won the cup they weren't even a .500 team (8-9-1). If there's anything Ottawa should be an example of is, as long as you make the playoffs and get hot for 3 (or 2 in ottawa's case) games even mediocrity can be rewarded with a cup

I was looking for comparisons to current WRs in the CFL and I kept coming back to Esk's WR Brandon Zylstra who has become incredibly productive.  So I did some research and from a physical standpoint the two are very similar (pro day results):

Kind of a laugh - their respective team's CFL sites list them as 6.03 and 220 lbs but their pro day stats list them as 6.02 and 219 lbs.
Zylstra signed with Esks on May 30, 2016 so he had a whole TC to go through and he wasn't put on the active roster until week 14.  Using Zylstra as a model I wouldn't expect Wolitarsky to be on the Bombers active roster until well into the 2nd half of the season, and even then he would have to earn his reps playing ST's.  I like JFG but he is someone I feel more comfortable with as a backup, so hopefully Wolitarsky can take a Nat WR spot down the road.  He still has to learn the CFL game and earn his stripes but it gives him something to shoot for.
One big advantage for Zylstra is QB play; Reilly is better than Nichols. Period.
