    The more you know:

"People with repeated COVID-19 infections are twice as likely to die and three times as likely to be hospitalized compared to those only infected once, according to the report published online recently in the journal Nature Medicine."

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medical/health-effects-increase-with-repeated-covid-19-infections/ar-AA1467g1

I go by what I see and what I saw was my kids recovered very quickly, in two days, from covid, while it lasted about two weeks for me.  And our subsequent infections we re far less than that, barely a ripple.  The virus gets weaker with each mutation, but people are free to keep injecting themselves with a vaccine for already extinct variants and read about the growing data showing adverse effects.  Even Health Canada acknowledges the risk of myocarditis and bell's palsy.

But each to his own.  If you want it, go ahead, and if you don't want it, go ahead.  I don't know why people get so angry (not you personally but many others) about people having personal choices for their health.  I read about it, weighed the risk and decided to let my immune system handle it.

Actually, replace the word vaccines with science.

Medicine a lot of times is an art lead by science.

Said poster is just sitting back, smirking away reading the responses to his (?) coming in hot gaslighting comments thinking what a bunch of idiots tearing away the fabric of our society with their tribalism. Wake up, our Country is going to ****.

I'm told by some here that I'm to be receptive, kind and open to listening to this jerk approach. Just another side to the equation.

Showing empathy for this is type of abrasive approach where the primary objective is to get a rise out of others who don't support personal entitlements, personal freedoms like speech, choices etc with no social responsibility attached to it whatsoever hiding behind the 'I'm a law abiding citizen that will not be told to do something I don't agree with' because of the junk science, junk research, junk sources they expose themselves to that swills around social media is becoming more and more difficult to do.

Partially true.  I do smirk at some responses because much of it is quick reflex attacks and angry spitting.
What is not true is that I am troll, I honestly believe what I post but the vast majority on here throw insults and make childish replies, or simply misrepresent what I try to say.

What is also true is that I only pop in every couple months, but not to 'gaslight', I am not on nearly enough for that to work haha.

MBB is an echo chamber where other side thoughts are outlawed. (I don't mean by the mods, they're pretty good at what they do, I refer to the general layman's responses)

  4. For you all making fun of Alberta for standing up to Ottawa, maybe you forgot that your own government in Manitoba is inline with AB and Sask on this, in that they pledged to not have RCMP resources diverted to enforcing Trudeau's new and arbitrary gun laws.  So maybe look to your own before bad-mouthing a Province who protects it's law abiding citizens.  This is in regard to the nonsense handgun freeze but if you think the government of Manitoba is going to sit back and do nothing about the newest nonsense in Bill C-21, you've obviously lived your whole sheltered life in Winnipeg and suffer from perimiteritis, never having known someone who hunts.

Province of Manitoba | News Releases | Provinces Oppose Federal Use of Police Resources to Confiscate Legally Acquired Firearms (gov.mb.ca)

"Provinces joined together this week at the 2022 meeting of federal, provincial and territorial ministers responsible for justice and public safety to discuss the federal government’s plan to use police resources to confiscate legally acquired firearms.

“Manitoba has consistently stated that many aspects of the federal approach to gun crimes unnecessarily target lawful gun owners while having little impact on criminals, who are unlikely to follow gun regulations in any event. In Manitoba’s view, any buy-back program cannot further erode our scarce provincial police resources, already suffering from large vacancy rates, and away from focusing on investigation of violent crimes,” said Manitoba Justice Minister Kelvin Goertzen.

Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and New Brunswick called on the federal government to halt plans to use scarce RCMP and municipal police resources to confiscate over 100,000 legally acquired firearms from Canadians. The Prairie provinces had already written to their RCMP divisions indicating that provincial funding should not be used for that purpose."

We need more of this, not only for issues related to Covid but for how people confuse Freedom of Speech is meant as freedom to lie without consequences.

    From the Canadian Press:

Alberta Court of Appeal dismisses unvaccinated woman's case for organ donation.

She can refuse the vaccine, the ruling says, but there are consequences that flow from that decision.

So to my point, exchange the sentences above to read, he can lie all he wants, i.e., freedom to say whatever you want, but there are consequences that flow from that decision.

You have to ask yourself, is it rational to possibly condemn someone to death for refusing a vaccine (that sort-of works, you still get sick) for a virus with a survival rate for most people over 99%?  I've had covid at least twice, time to stop living in fear my friend, stop the dividing and tribalism that is eating away at our society.

Lots of things are contagious, but we don't destroy our economy, freedom and stunt children's growth/development over them.

Where you and I differ is how we make the distinction between sane political discourse with often times differing opinions to complete absurd drivel that’s shouted out over and over again with no depth and no reflection. I’m not advocating shouting it down. I’m advocating to ignore it and put it where it belongs. We can discuss anything we want ie freedom of speech but freedom of speech does not mean freedom of consequences whether you do it calmly or not. I simply posted what I believe needed to be an option for people in responding to a question. You came in hot on it. We will never agree on this, I get it, especially over the internet but I am truly confident in my position here as a lifelong learner accessing a multitude of reliable valid (yes we will differ on this as well) sources to help me understand how we can cohabitate with one another from different viewpoints effectively and appropriately.

Fair enough.  I do see some benefits of being one's own country, apart from Ottawa.  Disadvantages as well for sure.  To live here in Alberta, you see first hand the damage done by destroying the main economy-driving industry.  The anger is at least  understandable, if sometimes delivered less-than-politely.

In fairness most folks on this site suggest that folks in Saskatchewan are inbred knuckledraggers so I guess it really depends on who or what you are talking about.    :D

And, being from Manitoba, I have known way too many people who have never left the province, for any reason.  Hard to have an accurate take on a large population you have never been immersed in.

Shouldn't health orders also ban all unhealthy foods since heart disease is the 2nd leading cause of deaths?    Shouldn't cigarettes be completely removed since it results in cancer and unhealthy bodies?   Alchoal is a luxury and not a necessity,  people are killed from drunk drivers shoudln't that be completely abolished?

We can save many lives by making simple changes but will society accept these changes that I mention above?

I can't foresee the future and or make any sweeping changes but I will guess based on my own opinions that if they ever consider another full blown lockdown that society will simply riot and not accept it.   People in the last few years followed orders out of fear of the unknown,   I don't think tweets like the one above will have very much if any effect on anyone these days into scaring them into going back into hiding from COVID.     It's not 2021 anymore,  people know better and simply will accept that it's a part of now modern day life and will go back to attending school,  going to Bomber games,  going to restaurants and living life to the fullest.

So once again where am I wrong in what I said in my original post?   Am I just really out of touch in saying that people are going out unmasked and living life similar to pre pandemic times?

Time to live with it or cower in fear every time someone gets the sniffles.  The sick die all the time, I'm not being callous, it's just truth.  If you're at-risk of anything, you protect yourself when you can.  I have a type-1 diabetic friend, he's a higher risk than your average person, plus he has lung issues, doesn't stop him from living and doesn't live behind a mask.  "Get busy living or get busy dying."

As much as I hated the last second attempt against Montreal, it is clear that the Bombers and Legghio have handled it extremely well.  O'Shea had his back from the start and Legghio noticed that the sun still came up the next morning and there was no manure on his driveway.

Maybe you have to feel that crushing disappointment in yourself to realize that you are not going to be defined by a bad attempt, life goes on and you'll get 'em next time.  Pretty clear from the dodged punt block that he isn't that concerned about what can go wrong on a play anymore (or at least now).

Both my brother and I were saying "go for the Rouge to tie for now, he won't make the kick."  Proof as to why none of us are qualified to coach a professional ball club hahaha.  That go-ahead LDC kick was amazing.

Absurd, nonsense drivel that has no place in sane political discourse.

why can't people discuss if they want?  Doing so in a calm manner is sane political discourse.  You don't get to decide what people can and cannot discuss.  There's a word for people who shout down political opinions they don't like, do you know what it is?

Yet somehow here in Alberta the leading cause of death is now "unknown", 3,362 compared to 1,950 for covid.  It gets very little press, but is a worrisome number.  It has now beat out dementia, which has lead the list since 2016. They have no idea why people are dying for unknown reasons at a climbing rate, could be a number of factors.

Covid is just something we have to live with.  My two month old had it, didn't worry me for a second, he was sick for two days.  My other two had it as well, better in 2-3 days.  Kids are super resilient and the idea of shooting them full of covid shots is abhorrent to me.

I find that many business have signs posted that say masks are strongly recommended, but not even all their employees are masked. It's being treated as 'window dressing' at this point.

As it should be, all they do is restrict your airflow.  Probably 1% of people are wearing them out here.  How many are wearing them in Winnipeg?

I knew the blue would be hard pressed to go undefeated but I do not recall such biased announcing as has happened the last few bomber games since watching the Jets play anyone on Hockey Night in Canada.

Those clowns, perhaps not the panel, but everyone else wanted the bombers to lose. It is ridiculous since this is the least arrogant ( excluding Mr. Miller) organization ever.

Am I wearing blue coloured goggles on this one?

If anything, you WANT media to be against the Bombers.   More flak, means more drive.  Trust me, as a Patriots fan, you don't want to go undefeated.  ;)

SB getting ****** because national media wanted to give a Lifetime Achievement Award to Van Zeyl is one of all time Schenley travesties....

Having said all of that, it all provided extra motivation for a team of underdogs to walk in and absolutely molly-whop the Cats in what turned out to be a (more or less) home game for the Bombers...

Meh, awards don't bother me, we won the Cup, nothing else matters.  Plus, Harris' moment after we won was made even better because of the hate.  He was hilarious after we won. That on-the-field interview and his game awards speech were instant classics.

It's better for this team to get flak in the media, keeps them fired up, something to prove.

Not sure why people always sell Bailey so short. That's a damned fine player there.

Seems like every Bailey catch is a tough one, he is a beast.  He has been overshadowed this year by the emergence of Shoen, but has been heating up lately.  He will be key should we get more injuries.
