  1. The biggest problem is the failure to acknowledge the wrong number was posted online. Then they were in the press about the prize not being claimed nearly every day after, again without acknowledgement of their error. Comes across as really shady and untrustworthy, especially for a community owned team. Add in the fact there was a previous jackpot unclaimed and it really looks bad.
  2. Any one of Capicotti, Shologun, Laurent, or Cleyon Laing would be huge.
  3. if the cfl is trying to attract young, probably non football fans strictly thru a half time show, hedley would absolutely be a band they want. Current, young, hit making radio friendly canadian pop act. But since they just played imma say they get the weekend His is actually playing the MTS Centre on the Friday of Grey Cup weekend. The Weeknd would be cool but he's in Calgary on the 29th.
  4. Have we heard anything yet? For an event having trouble selling tickets, I'm shocked this hasn't been announced yet.
  5. There was a time in the late 80's when there was full salary disclosure in the NHL. The Hockey News would publish the full list of each player's salary by team.
  6. Question for you Where do you think he is more suited to ? NT, 3-techinque DT or on the DE ? 100% as an end.
  7. This all looks like a smoke screen...pumping up Demski so that if some other team really wants him they'll have to trade up to draft him. If the interest is legit and they are considering him at 2, I'd be okay with that as well.
  8. saw it too, Believe it said as high as the 5th round even. Waud for sure has NFL potential as a 5-tech DE. As a CFL prospect, I actually think he may have a better future as an offensive tackle. He has the height and arm length for it.
  9. I asked the question so I care. Does anyone know? He started every game last season for the Argos at LG. The previous season he started one game at RT. I'd actually like to see Greaves slide out to tackle. i think he's got the arm length and finesse to make that move.
  10. The release on the Als website makes no mention of Shonert returning. I would imagine if he were back he'd be OC, no?
  11. Who doesn't? Andersen made 2.2M a season at Wisconsin. Mike Riley at Oregon State was the Pac-12's lowest paid coach at 1.5M. It's very likely Andersen actually took a pay cut to move to Corvallis.
  12. I think location is likely the biggest factor. He's from Utah, and most of his coaching experience is out west.
  13. They also have finished in the Top 25 in 4 of the last 9 seasons despite never having a Top 40 recruiting class in that time. He has for sure over achieved with the Oregon State program. Also turned down USC on two different occasions so Nebraska isn't the only school to value Riley.
  14. Why isn't Lemar Durant on the CFL Scouting Bureau's last list? I was under the impression he was eligible this year.
  15. If he has legit shot at the NFL, likely in the 3rd round. Unless he can post a sub 4.7 40 time he'll be viewed as a FB and won't be drafted.
  16. I've been waiting for them to bring in an Oregon guy forever ... I'd be beyond excited. Exciting players in that program. I guess for now, I'll settle for a relative. 5 years ago we were an Oregon State alumni team. That should be good enough. Oregon State is Oregon's biggest rival. Like us and the Riders. I'm assuming Mike would therefore not be a big Oregon State fan in spite of the Riley connection...
  17. I see he is with BC now. Didn't we have him around and release him to pursue an opportunity with the Vikings? I would have been interested in seeing what he could do with us.
  18. I think it's a pretty smart design. I like how the "wheat" is incorporated into the helmet, shoulders, and numbers. And the neon green is a hot color right now with the Ducks and the Seahawks.
  19. I believe I saw on the Colts website that he beefed up to around 245 lbs... Yeah I think the official weight I saw was 243. Big enough to play ILB in any NFL scheme.
  20. Yes. The industry of sports figured out how to monetize television broadcasts, led by the NFL. It's worth more to have the skyrocketing rights fees and eyeballs for advertising than the couple thousand people (which could be less or more depending on the city) who might choose to go to a game if they can't watch it on TV. IMO, several teams are missing an opportunity to get more butts in seats. Bombers are a prime example. Those corner endzone seats that never sell should go for $10-$15. Get people in the building, get them buying concessions and merchandise, maybe even provide a good enough experience that someone comes back in a more expensive seat. Better to sell that seat for $10 than have it sit empty for 9 games. The NFL still has local blackouts. Most teams sell out and it isn't an issue, but teams like Jacksonville and Tennessee are often blacked out locally.
  21. I personally would love that, but Etchevary seems to hate WILL LBers playing WLB Didn't play for Etcheverry before, he was in Sask for Chamblin's first year with Hall as DC. Thinking he's a MLB. Not what the Riders' 2012 Depth Chart said. Wild wasn't a MLB on our 2013 depth chart either. Different schemes, different seasons. All of our true LB's are listed as MLB's, hence the 6 or 7 on the depth chart. The Dime/Dollar positions are DB's. As ide from short yardage, we won't ever see two true linebackers on the field together.
  22. I agree this was his best season. He actually started at LT, and January started at RT. To start the season, RT was actually the blind-side as Lefors was our starter at QB.
  23. For reference, in 2012 Edmonton traded the 2nd and 20th overall picks to BC for the 4th, 14th, and 38th overall picks. If we packaged #2 and #20 to BC, the return would likely be #5, #12, and #41.
