I had a long dissertation on the Joe Mack draft record from 2010-13 & the lack of success he had over that time compared to other GMs in the CFL. You know what, I was going to post it but I'm sick & tired of the Joe Mack merry go round that I just said **** it & deleted it.

Wally completely turned over the team that won the GC in 1998 & lost to the Ti Cats in 99. if there were 6 players left from that 98 team in 2002 I'd be surprised. That was his decision to do that. Even thought the Stamps won the GC in 2001, he continued to cut or let his players go to FA because he just didn't want to pay. That craptacular 2002 Stampeder team was all his doing. His philosophy of 'younger & cheaper" finally caught up with him that year. What happened with the Lions this off season we saw in Calgary every year he was GM in the 90's & early 2000's. He used to shrug off the players he released saying he could find someone as good or better for a cheaper price.

He's been GM in BC almost as long as in Calgary when he was cutting veterans left & right thinking someone younger & cheaper could play & he finished last in the West in 2002. He might be nearing the end of the road in the CFL & looking to retirement in the next couple of years.

People on this board wanted to run Morley out of town all last season. Now he is projected as the starting centre? Someone explain that as being an upgrade?

I think I'd go with a B grade.
 
We got what probably amounts to, at worst, 3 starters and at best, 4 and I'd say all 4 of the players we brought in were guys that other teams wanted so it's not like we picked up scraps. Add in the fact that 2 of them are Canadian and I'd be giving us an A had we not missed out on the big fish we really wanted (Butler)
 
Not addressing the OL hurts, but I don't think Myddelton was an answer so I wouldn't complain too much about that. I do want to see it addressed in a trade though ... somehow.

There is no part of our OL that is exactly dominant... including the left side.  I like moving Greaves to Centre, lots of upside to that.

I think it's funny that nobody wants to announce any signings yet.

I think he could compete at safety. Saskatchewan seemed to think he'd be a viable option to replace Butler. At worst, he's a beast ST guy.

JJ won't be back with team. Tweeted out that the club called him saying they were moving on. Tough loss no matter what others around here will say.

At this point, I'm really expecting him to re-up with us. The comment by Desjardins in this article kind of sums it up.
