I admire Brohm, who as a high NFL drafted player, must have gotten a lot of money.
 
 
as a Heisman winner It probably would have been fairly easy for him to quit playing and slide into a College coaching job, in the school where he is a hero, or a media job, when his NFL career didn't go well.
 
Yet he obviously wants to play football, and keeps hanging in there, under less auspicious circumstances than he probably expected back then. 
 
I too thought he ran the offence crisply and effectively when he got a chance. too bad he got injured so quickly;  Who knows, we might have had a quarterback controversy. 
 
I'm Glad he's back.

DB Johnny Adams (Michigan State) has NFL experience.
He might have been recommended to us by former Bombers personnel director Bill Polian, who talks about Adams in the vid link below.

I was not overly impressed with O'Shea's management of resources last year, especially during the 7 game skid.  Backup QB's should have gained more playing time during this period.  Cotton/Grigsby took too long to resolve and Romby should have remained parked on the PR roster throughout IMO.  Hopefully O'Shea acquires more flexibility in his thinking than he exhibited in his rookie year.

Because of Brohm's quick reads/release, at times I wondered last season whether he was a better fit for the offense than Willy. While he should have more time this year with the improved OL, Willy needs to work on speeding up his reads and release.

The game where Brohm injured his thumb he looked very impressive. You are correct in that he isn't very mobile, but he had quick accurate reads.

I wouldn't be surprised if Grigsby is out of the league in 2015, and is selling cell phones covers at a mall kiosk for a living.

Proof is in the pudding. Like Doug Brown said, coach Buck Pierce is going to look like a genius if the run game dramatically improves.
Let's hope Drew Willy learns to make his reads quicker and gets rid of the ball faster. If not, then even a top tier OL won't help.

Run game was fine when a good running back was used.  Every OL in the CFL can run block.  The ability to actually run the ball with a back who can put the offense in 2nd and 5 or less consistently will be a bigger upgrade than any made on the offensive line.
 
On the whole, Bryant will be an upgrade, the rest depends on guys picking up their game, Greaves and Neufeld specifically.  Goossen is a wildcard.  Picard for Morley is a wash, Picard's snapping and calls should be more refined given he's spent his whole life playing centre, but he can't block anybody 1 on 1.  I'd be pleasantly surprised if they end up in the top half of the league in terms of protecting the QB.

Hopefully Bombers are just feigning interest in KG, so Brohm gets the message and re-signs with us, pronto.

Why would Winnipeg take the downside risk? Surely we need to be developing our younger talent. I'd be seriously questioning O'Shea's sanity - it would be like Romby, only worse

I always wondered why we never gave Volny more carries many mentioned fumblitis but in my time of seeing him play I don't ever recall seeing him fumble.  It'll be interesting to see what he does for Montreal because he seemed like he would have the ability to be a messam type of RB.  I don't see him as the one who can break it for the 15-20 yard run but he seemed like he could be a bruise em up type of player who would get you half way to the 10

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet but Carl Volny has been signed by Montreal.  Hope he is given a better opportunity there.

There are Lots of articles online about Portis.  They all seem to agree, he was good enough athletically to be an NFL Q.B.

I felt Brohm had command of the huddle, the system, and the clock and that he moved the ball with authority. He spent less time going through both pre-snap and post-snap reads than Drew Willy and got the ball away faster. If he doesn't get a last shot in the NFL, I feel certain he will land in the CFL somewhere and given half a chance will do very very well. So I don't think a trade was in the books, since Bombers actually want(ed) him back.

Although he was their 3rd string most of the season, they didn't trust him enough to hand the team over to him when Palmer and Stanton went down.  Brought back Ryan Lindley instead, one of their training camp cuts.  Which doesn't say much one way or another when it comes to a QB's potential in the CFL.

If Jones hits FA, Taman won't be the only one driving up the price.
