  1. Will be very interesting to see what it's like having Smith, Denmark, and Dressler all on the field at once. Definitely lacking height but they're all play makers.
  2. Sorry, I didn't mean bigger than Sheppard, I just meant a big body in general (as opposed to Denmark, Smith, Dressler, Kohlert)
  3. Love that JFG comes in for Sheppard if Flanders is in for Harris. We talked all week about JFG/Denmark but this swap makes way more sense. JFG can block and while not as tall as Sheppard, is still a bigger body.
  4. And take away that 5TD game and Glenn's numbers get even worse. Not sure what it'll take to convince folks that Nichols is the guy at this point. He led our team to twice as many TDs as Durant did on Sat and most folks seem to feel that Durant is the better QB. Collaros threw some pretty ill advised passes yesterday (should've been several more picks), Reilly making mistakes as well, even Mitchell did. Now don't get me wrong, those are all QBs I'd love to have here (maybe minus Durant), but while Nichols might not be single handedly winning us games, he isn't losing them either. I believe if Willy or Glenn we're our QB the last two weeks we would've lost both, because either would've turned over the ball. I like Nichols- workmanlike, unassuming, and gets the most important stat of all: wins.
  5. 50/50 prize was $7,200. It was $102k in Winnipeg yesterday. Sad.
  6. Haha I'm actually surrounded by TiCats fans. They're louder than the Argo fans that's for sure.
  7. Just landed in TO and have a few hours to kill, figured I'll check out BMO Field. Anyone else here? Would love to sit with some friendlies!
  8. Right, there was the season opener last year. I meant Labour Day in my original post thanks for catching that.
  9. Five game winning streak. First win in Edmonton in ten years. First win in Regina in twelve years. We can't keep winning like this? We have the second longest win streak in the league right now next to Calgary, the number one team. Everyone wants the flash of Reilly or Collaros, but what does it matter if we're winning? I'm in Regina and still can't stop smiling. Came on here expecting to see people celebrating and instead the first two threads I read are doom and gloom. I was here the last time we won, and I was also here for every loss in between. There is no downplaying this win. It is huge.
  10. We were in the red zone ONCE. So we were 0/1 in the red zone, and that included a dropped TD and Harris running out of bounds. The play calling was actually perfect. This thread is a joke.
  11. I think Edmonton crosses over, they've not been dominant in their wins. Hamilton wins the East, Ottawa finishes second, TO and MTL both miss the playoffs. Winnipeg and BC battle for second with the back to back games getting split. BC has TO, MTL, EDM, OTT, WPG, WPG, EDM, SSK, SSK I predict they lose to one of TO or MTL in an upset, beat EDM, lose to OTT, split with us, lose to EDM, sweep SSK. So BC finishes with 11 wins and I think we will as well. Comes down to points when the dust settles. Hopefully our defence gives Jennings fits as despite his solid play, he has been prone to being impatient and a bit trigger happy.
  12. Are you on one of the buses? I ended up doing the Friendly Manitoba bus (did the Star one a few years ago). We're in section 28 on the east side, where's everyone else?
  13. Two of the first three drives we take penalties that put us in first and 20 when we had gotten first downs (and Nichols converts one of those first and 20s via 16 yard pass then 4 yard run). Harris steps out of bounds on a wheel route that's a guaranteed TD. Sack comes in untouched when we're on MTL half of the field. Sheppard runs out of bounds before catching a sideline toss. Another receiver runs a corner route right into the defender (then failed PI challenge). Our star RB fumbles on two promising drives after gaining first downs. The sluggishness in this game was definitely not on Nichols. He didn't make bad decisions, had no picks, managed the game at the end with a double-digit completion streak, and did what mattered most: got us the win. Take Mo's pick six out of the equation and we still generated enough points to win and that's all that matters. Since Nichols has come in, our team has had four games in a row of 30+ points. Under Willy, 30 points hadn't happened since the season opener last year, and over 30 hadn't happened since before that. A stifling D, a QB that isn't making costly mistakes, a RB that doesn't usually fumble, the best special teams in the league, and an O-line that has given up one sack in two games. I don't care if we don't have top ten receivers or a QB throwing a million yards, so long as we keep winning, that's all that matters! I absolutely agree that we'll see what we really have when our top receivers come back, but I think Nichols is doing far and away better with what he has at his disposal than Willy would be, and I'm a Willy supporter. Nichols now has a winning record as a Bomber QB, it's been years since anyone could say that.
  14. Yep, although the first one was quite the sell by Bond. I re-watched it a few times laughing hard at the fact that the refs fell for Bond's act on that one.
  15. How did I miss this news? Does anyone have a link?
  16. Apparently Fredrick is hurt.
  17. Randle 100% goes back in. We need his huge hits to set the tone. We've been very susceptible to quick outs that somehow turn into huge plays, he should shore that up quickly. Roberts has been serviceable, but his pick six against Hamilton was a gift from Masoli. It wasn't a Fogg or Leggett level catch. I'd probably take Adams over Frederick for now as well, but only so that Frederick has even more time to develop. They're both pretty close though and certainly a good problem to have.
  18. Sadly, I remember watching a Khari-led team lose to a third-stringer by the name of Rocky Butler. My Labour Day memories are rough. But this year we break the streak!
  19. Don't forget that those backups we played beat Ottawa (Kilgore), Edmonton and Toronto (Masoli). It's not like they weren't winning. Also seemingly forgotten in all of this is that technically, we're playing our backup QB too. I think it would be more reasonable for Calgary to ask themselves if they're for real since four of their wins have come against us (at a time when even Montreal was able to beat us) and Saskatchewan. In 2014 it was a near miracle that we were 5-1 (remember the last second game-winning drive in Montreal with Feoli-Gudino as the hero?). These three wins have been convincing and all out team efforts. Touchdowns with two minutes left from Edm and TO aside, all three of these wins have been sheer dominance. Is this real? Who knows. But right now I'd take this team over the 2011 and 2007 Bombers, and they both got us to the cup.
  20. Wow, crazy game and crazy near comeback. That's three games in a row that Hamilton has spotted the opposition huge leads in the first half. Austin can't be happy.
  21. No doubt. I'm just not willing to write him off after two games.
  22. Hamilton trying their hardest to prove last week's blowout wasn't a fluke right now.
  23. Conspiracy against them? The refs did everything in their power to hand Regina a touchdown at the end of the first half with three extremely questionable penalties. Calgary receivers did their best to not catch, Cal defenders dropped easy picks. The only folks to blame for the Riders loss are themselves.
  24. Or terrible five yard penalties, like a casual offside that is inconsequential to the play with no time left on the clock...
