Geoff Gray Cut By Pack
I just hope Mulumba finally ends up here. We NEED a capable middle linebacker and he IS the answer! I wonder if we could get his brother too, I hear he plays safety. I guess the question is: if Mulumba comes to take over the middle linebacker spot, who is the odd man out: Justin Medlock, Paul LaPolice, or Dancing Gabe? I don't envy the coaches on this one...

Labour Day Classic: Winnipeg @ Saskatchewan
He's replacing Thorpe. So Denmark, Dressler, Adams, Lankford, Feoli-Gudino (and Harris/Flanders)

Injury Report
We have the best starting field position in the league + the most field goals + the most wins + give up the second-most points. Those four things are very clearly co-related. Lankford stays in. Playing down his importance when we're winning some games by the skin of our teeth on field goals is just silly.

Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)
The CFL doesn't have authority to "ok" coaching hires, only players. So despite the "discussions" that the Ticats alluded to, the league and commissioner couldn't actually tell them not to hire him. Today, the commissioner drove to Hamilton and compelled the Ticats not to. So this wasn't a matter of flip-flopping. It is definitely worth commending the league for doing the right thing, especially when, at the end of the day, Hamilton could have still hired him. Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)
I've seen a few folks referring to Austin as the GM. Isn't Eric Tillman the GM? Austin's sole title is now VP of football operations if I'm not mistaken.

Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)
Anyone else catch the mic'd up from our game on TSN? Brandon Banks is not pleased with his team/coaching. When we stopped them on the first two point convert attempt, he kept yelling "why are we going for two? Why are we going for two?" Then followed that up with a sarcastic "we have a field goal kicker, don't we?" Then later in the game on the quick Medlock punt, when Austin tries to talk to him while he's walking off he starts jawing back at Austin. We all know there's issues there, but for this to be all caught on camera shows us just how bad it is. Imagine what's happening when the cameras aren't rolling. Also, chill out on the typo thing with Ripper. I just went through my post and found four autocorrects that happened from me typing quickly on my phone. Hate to imagine how I'd have been treated if I hit the submit button. His phone obviously auto-corrected the same word consistently. Who cares? What does a typo have to do with football?

41-40, (42-43), 33-25, 43-40 What's going on?
10 yard hooks/curls every play are guaranteed first downs against us, as seen by every team we've played.

Nailed it. It's like people think if we don't score a TD on every drive our O sucks. 41 points with our top receiver out for most of the game. Maybe when fans see other offenses moving at will against us they think our offence should be able to do the same thing against actual defenses. Our D line is the only reason why we were even in this game thanks to their sacks, and I say "in the game" when we give up 40 points.

Mic'D Up - Weston Dressler
I loved how he told Washington that a big play was coming his way and just to be ready when it does, then boom, touchdown. His support of and belief in his teammates was great, and not just with the O. Seeing Loffler giving him props, or Dressler cheering Legget on after the BS no-fumble call, or even Medlock thanking him for reigning in the snap on a field goal. Just such a solid teammate. Also, two TDs in 25 seconds, and then he's running back to be the holder for both! Talk about a blue collar kind of guy!

Mic'D Up - Weston Dressler
Apologies if this is buried in another thread somewhere, but I thought everyone should check this out. I enjoyed watching this so much. It really felt like I was on the sideline with the team during the game (once you get past the intro/travel). I hope that the Bombers plan on doing this every week, one of the best pieces of football content I've seen in forever! https://www.bluebombers.com/2017/07/05/micd-up-weston-dressler/ Also, so happy we have Dressler!!

Bombers select REC Drew Wolitarsky in supplemental draft
Just spoke with a friend in Minneapolis that follows the Gophers religiously. Here's what he had to say: "Super solid receiver. Not a freak athlete, he's not going to make jaw-dropping catches, but really reliable and puts up good numbers." Honestly, that's exactly what I want. A possession receiver, first down, Ben Cahoon kinda guy. Denmark, Adams, Dressler, and possibly Washington can all stretch the field fine, but a possession receiver (especially one with the right passport), would really round out our corps. Hope he sticks!

Depth Chart vs Lions West Semi Final
I finally got my wish of JFG starting over Kohlert. Here's to hoping he pulls through for me so I don't look like a fool!
-
Week Of West Semi @ BC
I believe the Ottawa one was actually low, Kohlert was going to his knees, ball went off the inside of his right arm and popped up.

6 Bombers named CFL Division All-Stars
Here's another fun one: with Heath making the west all star team with only a few games as a Bomber it's fair to think he would've made it on the eastern one if he had stayed with TO. Who in the east gets benched for Heath?

6 Bombers named CFL Division All-Stars
So interesting thought: A lot of folks feel that Daniels in Calgary will beat out Loffler for ROTY, but Daniels isn't even one of the receivers on the all star team (where there are four spots), yet Loffler is the safety (where there's one spot). On that basis, it can be argued that Loffler is either the best or second-best safety in the entire league, and that while Daniels is prob a top ten receiver, he's not near the top five. Should Loffler really be the favourite for ROTY?

3 stars plus HH vs the RBs minor league team
To recap: Normand rushes against backups in the final few drives when the game is out of reach for Ottawa and their players are avoiding injuries, drops easy, wide open TD pass = monster game Nichols plays in same game, has 300 passing, two TDs (both gorgeous throws), an OL full of backups that had him peeling himself off the turf, some beauty deep balls, and his one pick on what should be a first down that volleyball Kohlert hands to the other team = bad game Reason: Nichols was playing against their fourth string QB with three better QBs ahead of him, and as we all know, backup quarterbacks play defence! Makes sense to me! ?♂️
