That is really embarrassing that the official voice of a professional sports team has a blog like that.
I could understand an anonymous fan setting up and writing something like that, but not someone in his position.

If Pederson is an employee of the Riders then he should be subject to a suspension & fine by the CFL. He's accusing the league of a conspiracy & therefore attacking the integrity of the game. He needs to be slapped down & slapped down hard

Also how does a PI cost the riders the game exactly when it was tied at that point? 25 25. Someone ask a rider fan to explain that. Oops eh. Kind of puts some water on that fire doesn't it. Are we assuming that the Riders would win in OT or their kicker would hit a 65 yard fg to win?

Also of note for today, Riders regular ling snapper is hurt so they have someone new stepping in for the first time. For what that's worth...

I was in the same boat.   I thought PI then I thought they got away with one and then when they had the bit with Rod Smith and Climie on Sportscentre I could see exactly what I initially saw live and what Climie commented on: the clutch and the pull through.

The call was consistent. The one not called PI was hand-fighting pure and simple. On the last PI the defender clutched the arm of Dressler and used it to pull himself through. I agree with Climie on Sportscentre that it was PI. I called it as the play happened. I wasn't sure on one replay but watching it again he the Sask player clearly clutched Dressler's arm. They have called that all year.
As for Jones' comment, he was right not to comment wrong about the fine and wrong in implying that other teams get away with commenting on officiating. They don't. (For example, Bowman was fined for his post-game comments after the game last week).

I agree that Willy is more talented than Nichols. You can't however switch players and expect the same results. Whether anyone likes it or not, the team believes in Nichols and is rallying around him. He isn't forcing it and isn't turning the ball over. He isn't hanging on to the ball too long. A lot easier to block for someone like that and I believe that is why the Oline all the sudden is night and day better. They know they only have to block for a few seconds and the ball will be gone which leads to less holding calls. Lapolice is calling plays that see Nichols being successful. The team believes Nichols will keep them in it and give them a chance to win, and it is infectious. Doesn't mean Willy will never play again but at this point Nichols took Drew's lunch money and his job and is making the most of it. It is my opinion that all the other facets of the team are playing better because Nichols is in there.

please explain why willy would do any better anywhere else.
If as some people think, his problem is making fast enough reads...  how does changing teams fix that?
I'm just a casual fan, but it looks to me as though Nichols makes decisions about what to do with the ball faster than Drew.

What has he done to not earn your trust? i don't trust that he will necessarily stay healthy all season but i have no doubt about his ability to lead this team to wins.

The o-line IS better but not that much better that it explains the results.
    Coaching quotes:
Pierce says Nichols' greatest strength is his ability to see things and process them quickly.
Watch the film, Wylie says, and you'll find running backs, receivers, even quarterbacks screwing up, too.  “I can tell you the first year (2014) we gave up 71 (as a team). The line gave up 27."
I subscribe to the theory that everyone looks better because Nichols has been decisive and smart with the football.

The CFL and TSN will have extra on-field miking for the Calgary / Hamilton game this weekend.  Details are light, but the QBs and head coaches will be wired for sound.

I think what he is saying is Denmark is a sell because he is out performing what his true top end is.
Not that Denmark is going to be bad in the future, just don't expect him to get 200 receiving yards every game.  You "sell" now because his value is as high as it is going to get.  (And in this case, I don't think sell means trade or anything like that)
It is a bit of an odd read in the way that he does that portion.

The league should give them their bye week on next year's schedule for the first week of September. Take away their free space on the bingo card.  That will send a message bigger than a fine could. It shows that the league runs things, not the franchise.

Kris Adams started the season on the 6 game and was activated for game 7.  I've yet to see a player in practice who I didn't know not be announced on the Bomber web site by at least end of the day I'd seen him.
