28 has been worn since Nicklen played. Paul Markle wore it in 1972. It must have been taken out of circulation some time after that.

I fondly remember the days when kickoff was noon our time. Pre-game was short and to the point, an hour and a half. TSN makes more money in prime time so that is how it has to be now.

Didn't seem like he yelled at them, simply told a camera man to "get out of my way", this was a few seconds before taking the field when he was trying to find space to throw a few quick warmup passes. With the huge zoom lenses they have on these cameras no reason to get up in the players faces or interfere with their movement at all.
I caught that one and later he said "can't you find someone else to film?" Burris has said worse. I've no use for either one. Over all I'm pretty tired of the amount of sideline antics and mugging they show every game.

Reilly puts up 40 on Hammie. Still ends close.

Bob Irving was saying on the post game that a home playoff is worth at least half a million dollars to the hosting club. They had to try for it as unlikely as it was at that point. That said, Glen could have won that game as easily as Nichols and gotten potentially valuable game reps with this team. Any way it's over and the only thing that matters is Sunday.

Nichols took a pounding in a lost cause. If he'd gotten hurt enough to miss games that rests with O'Shea. And our other two guys have how many snaps with us this year?

With 9 teams and 18 games there is still no way to do a balanced and fair schedule. You would play 6 teams twice and two teams 3 times. Someone could play Calgary three times and someone else Montreal three times using this year as an example.
Plenty of times the two best teams met in the west final. It's still good football. The Grey Cup is about more than just football, it's a national event. If we lose that it is just another football game.

I have watched that hit many times and I honestly don't think it was dirty. Just bad luck. Blame Charles Roberts if you want to blame anybody for botching the hand-off at 2:35. ARGH....still burns my butt....
Glenn was on the radio talking about this recently. He refused to assign blame but he did say that he and Roberts had discussed it since and both agreed there should never have been an option to hand off or not on the play.

It means we win the rematch on Nov 20.

The truth is, Durant is still a good QB. With some good scouting the Riders could be a decent team next year.
I think they'd be a lot better off if they had just picked their team out of camp and stuck with it. They'd be making fewer mistakes by now.
How about Suitor saying that Dressler will have "mixed emotions"? A team that cut him without even a phone call? Dressler stayed classy in his comments but you know he'd been waiting for that game all season.
I'm just glad it has been proven that a Rider win on Labor Day is not preordained by God. Maybe they didn't cheer hard enough?

The o-line IS better but not that much better that it explains the results.
Coaching quotes:
Pierce says Nichols' greatest strength is his ability to see things and process them quickly.
Watch the film, Wylie says, and you'll find running backs, receivers, even quarterbacks screwing up, too. “I can tell you the first year (2014) we gave up 71 (as a team). The line gave up 27."
I subscribe to the theory that everyone looks better because Nichols has been decisive and smart with the football.

Look, I’m cheering for Denmark as much as anyone, but all three of his touchdowns have been the result blown coverages.
Something wrong with making defenders pay in full for their mistakes?

The Riders already suck. Perhaps they figure that's punishment enough. The CFL needs healthy viable teams in all nine cities, including Regina.
If we don't like it and want to punish them more, let's do it on the field and really embarrass them.
The league should give them their bye week on next year's schedule for the first week of September. Take away their free space on the bingo card. That will send a message bigger than a fine could. It shows that the league runs things, not the franchise.

I think a guy like Kris Adams might have fallen in that category.
Kris Adams started the season on the 6 game and was activated for game 7. I've yet to see a player in practice who I didn't know not be announced on the Bomber web site by at least end of the day I'd seen him.
-
I'm sure the Bombers are not doing it. With all the injuries we've had every replacement has come from someone here legitimately.
-
How about they have to play a Labor Day game in Winnipeg? That would destroy them and well within league powers to do it.

I agree. Suspend Jones. Levy some extremely heavy fines to the parties involved so this won't continue. Jones is probably betting this won't happen.
Or maybe he has already factored in that the league has no teeth. It remains to be seen what power the Commish has and what he is able to do.
-
Maybe he should concentrate on the players that are playing THIS week. Spreading himself too thin and sending the message that half the team are rent-a-players. No wonder they don't play better.

I was wrong about Denmark not being ready. He looked great today. Him and Kris Adams on the same side and they both looked good. Either one could stretch a defense.
Feoli-Gudino holding for field goals. 3rd holder this season for Medlock.
Very spirited day, looks like the win has done wonders for morale.

I can't see Denmark being ready this week.

Exactly. I remember when we were going to sign Burris because no other team wanted him. Out of the blue Ottawa offers him a huge contract and deals Glenn who we don't get either. Too many things can happen if we let this go into Feb.
