U know as much as I think chad krueger is a ****** canoe, I took my one of my kids to pretty wreckless n nickleback in march, much to my surprise they put on a good show - covering metallicas master of puppets n panteras walk did it for me. They probably one of the few rock acts that could appeal to a wide age range. *I feel dirty saying that

so incredibly untrue, I don't even know where to begin.... just cuz someone doesn't walk up to you and slap you in the face, doesn't mean they don't exist...

There are tons of rock bands.... some really good ones, but it's really tough for any band or musician, no matter what they play, rock, folk, country, pop, to make money these days.
 
No gigs, low pay, lack of interest.
 
Pay for bands hasn't increased since the seventies.
 
Big Wreck is a great band with a Canadian singer.
 
Just no money in it anymore. Almost impossible to make even a meagre living.
 
Most musicians have to support themselves doing something else, housepainting for instance.
 
People aren't very interested in music these days. At least nothing like they were in the past. 

I blame CD's, DJ companies, and the hospitality industry. They took away all the live venues from the bands. When any clown could suddenly become a DJ and spin digital quality tracks it was a death blow to many, many bands ability to simply rock and learn how to bond with their audience early in their musical careers. The bands were able to eliminate the "cheese" from their music through automatic fan feedback. Now bands are pumping out what they think is rock....but doesn't survive the rock quality test from fans. Largely because the bands never had an opportunity for feedback from anyone other than a record producer looking to make a dollar through a tightly constructed tunnel vision of what they think music needs to be in order to profit.
Nickelback sold records? Let's make a hundred more just like them.
 
No more concept albums...no more genius arrangements like Stairway to Heaven...too hard to get radio airplay for them.

Rock and roll will never die so long as there are weekend warrior musicians playing for beer money in a seedy bar doing cover versions of classic rock out of a crappy PA.....and absolutely ROCKING the place. The heart of rock and roll is still alive at the grass roots....it just hasn't survived at the top levels.

How many actual rock acts are there anymore? Not very many.

Yep - officially done. I agree it was pretty much done though not by Labour Day, it was done when Willy broke his leg. I knew then, once I heard and researched the injury it was pretty obvious he wasn't coming back (a more severe version could have literally rendered him a cripple never mind playing football again). 
 
Next year - same as the last 25 boys. Can't recruit our own QB = another year of misery - or maybe, maybe, a decent year, maybe two - but no recruit means once Willy is gone for good - back from mediocrity (which even then in this minor league can get you to a Grey Cup) to utter crap again. 
 
But I think Walters is gone. Where there's smoke, there's fire. What's he going to say during the season while he's still employed "Yes, I"m the GM of the Wpg Blue Bombers but that directorship in Guelph - which I can have as long as I want - sure looks sweet, I'll probably go there when the season is done". Don't worry about Walters folks, he's gone. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see him hired there before the Grey Cup is played in Winnipeg (wouldn't that be a howdy do LMAO).
 
Cruddy franchise, great stadium, and the best fans (sorry Sk fans but don't recall Wpg ever having to hold a freaking telethon to save their team).
 
rebusrankin - you keep renewing your season tickets because you are true blue fan of the bombers. I admire and congratulate you. For your sake, and others of your ilk - I wish you nothing but the best. My Mom passed away last year - I kept cheering for the Bombers because of her (when the bombers won it made her happy). Now that she's moved on, it just doesn't matter. Time for me to move on. I'll always have soft spot but since the Oilers are my hockey team now, I'm golng to make the Eskimos my football team. Most likely will take a year or two to get fully emotionally involved with the team, but at least it is a team I can get behind.
 
To all the folks here - pleasure reading all your posts. I hope I was able to contribute a little bit but lots of great, knowledgeable fans here. The Winnipeg Football club doesn't deserve you, and you all deserve a lot better. And 'when' (not if - it will happen) the Bombers become a relevant team again - I'll be happy for all of you.

Our season was done by Labour Day, even though some chose to live in denial. We've had brief moments of competence, but the team has stunk for two seasons. Gonna take a lot of Febreeze to clear out this stench. To those who have been calling for "continuity", continuity means more of what we've had for two years. Enough already.

Foo Fighters and Grey Cup starting to trend.

Note:  New motto for next season.  "We may not be good but at least we're ethical."

With all due respect to his career here, if we're tampering to land a coach I hope it's somebody better than Khari Jones.

I'm 24. The Bombers have never won the grey cup in my life time. Not going to attract new fans when you put a losing product on the field year after year.

Remains to be seen. I also don't think MOS has that much support. It's Miller & especially Lawless talking through his hat saying the Bombers can't make changes. We already know Wade won't fire MOS as head coach so most fans are resigned to having him around at the start of the 2016 season. If they keep this regime even with an OC change we'll see how people vote with their wallets purchasing season tickets next year. As Cody T said, he's 23 & his friends laugh at him because people his age think the team is a joke. The Bombers will lose an entire generation of fans if they keep dicking around the way they do. 

Good grief...we get Muamba and we win? Too cheap?...we spent way more money acquiring players this year than in years past! Guess you just don't want to count guys like Westerman, Nick Moore, Ian Wild, and Stanley Bryant.
 
I love how you just make a post, but don't bother putting any thought into it..just rant is the best way to express yourself!

you know what changes those close games to wins? A capable offensive game plan and a healthy starter.. or even a capable backup running a good offense..

Yup I definitely want in the playoffs.

Mitchell has had a great stats year but watching him something is missing.he hasn't had a real dominating game this season & like today his offense just struggles at times. He can't seem to find his second or third receiver when he's doing his check downs or when his primary receiver is covered. BLM game manages well but isn't in the Top 3 in the CFL. He's only 25 so I expect he'll get better. 

I'd give O'Shea another year. Bellefeuille needs to go. It becomes clearer every game that he's the problem.

Things like this that make the CFL amateur. . It's an insult to their fans
