  1. Haven't seen an online link yet. But listening to the football game while watching the hockey game is a good compromise.
  2. Beck did not play at all tonight, and based on the limited time I've seen him play in in the previous seasons, he may very well be on his way out. Beck has hepatitis and has been kept away from his teammates because apparently it's a contagious form. Not to put it all on Lulay's shoulder but it's all on Lulay's shoulder.
  3. Way too early to tell how BC will do. Road pre-season game, co-ordinators not on the field but up in the booth, Cortez running the most vanilla of offenses, before the 65 man cut down day. They didn't show any of their TE formations. They played 3 Internationals on the OL; Matt Norman/Dean Valli didn't play more than the first drive. Harris, Iannuzzi and Gore didn't play, even Collie didn't play a ton. Cord Parks didn't play much, Elimimian and Bighill didn't play. The biggest questions for the Lions is can Lulay go from day 1 and will he last the season. With a healthy Lulay I think they are a 11-7 team. If they are stuck with John Beck (and if he's actually healthy) they are a 7 or 8 win team. Their first team defense is playoff worthy.
  4. The 2010 West Final was pretty cold. -24C at game time. Two days later it was a high of -30C. Oddly enough it seems like the Grey Cup week tends to be warmer than the West Final week. The coldest air temp for a Grey Cup was Winnipeg's 1991 game at -17C. The coldest NFL game was the December 13, 1967 meeting of Green Bay and Dallas with an air temp of -25C and a windchill of -44C.
  5. For all the love Marve gets on this board, the repeated message from the media and what the coaches tell them is that Brohm has basically been locked into the #2 position barring some major collapse, and with Marve flat out saying he's leaving for the NFL next year, I can't fathom the club using up what amounts to a developmental roster spot on a guy who wants to bolt at season's end. I know his scrambling and enthusiasm score big on the emotional love scale from the fans, but keeping him doesn't seem to be the logical move unless he's the clear #2 and pushing for top spot, which by all accounts from those who make the decisions, he isn't. Just because he wants to try the NFL doesn't mean he's automatically going to get a shot. He could be back quite easily. The NFL has a long, rich history of signing back-up CFL quarterbacks...........well at least there must have been ONE somewhere along the way, no? Graham Harrell.
  6. For those that have been there - Has Cronk been doing any long snapping in camp?
  7. Update There's a chance TSN.ca will provide a live stream of tomorrow's #Bombers pre-season game. Stay tuned. — Kirk Penton (@PentonKirk) June 8, 2015
  8. The Canadian women's team is the 8th ranked team in the world. Playing China (another top 10 team) to a draw was the expected result, coming out with the win was pure bonus. **** Update China has slipped in the rankings. Currently #16
  9. Great. Now use your magic and get them to livestream it?It's certainly possible, but doesn't mean they'll do it. I would bet the farm that this is not in the Bombers plans. What I meant by "no cameras" is without TSN no broadcast of the game will be available to stream. If you want to watch a game recorded off a fans camera, best of luck. I'll stick with Bob Irving's description supplemented by the 3 million adverts 'OB subjects us to. I'm a product of the "black out" era, so I'm used to that level of abuse. Ya it definetely won't happen. I'm just saying it's possible. Bombers will be filming the game for their own purposes. I really hate to say this but the Riders are the only CFL team that would even consider finding a way to "feed the beast" in this situation. The Bombers have a long way to go to match their level of customer relations. Please excuse me while I go puke. Tonight's game will be available on Ticats.ca I don't understand the thought that there's no cameras at the games. There's at least 4 cameras at every field just for the in stadium jumbotron coverage. The NLL used to broadcast games on YouTube using the jumbotron coverage plus volunteer commentators.
  10. Probably complaining about the road taxes. No personal income tax in Tennessee! Accounting fees for pro players are intense.
  11. Much of the unknown revolves around the cities. These players know about New York, Los Angeles or Dallas but have never heard of Winnipeg, Hamilton or Saskatchewan.
  12. I got to guest coach at the rifles spring camp this year and let me tell u the Braedy Will could end up on the PR. Best Db out of this Prov in a long time. Very physical and could see him even down in the LB group Do they tally up pass knockdowns in the CJFL differently or something? I looked him up yesterday and he had 70 last year. That seems insane. Must be a mistake, never seen more than 15 in the cjfl or cis. Guessing it was 7 http://www.cjfl.org/roster_players/5761617 Oh ... PDef ... mistook that for knockdowns. So passes defended? Either way ... 6'4" that's a big, big dude. It's Defensive Points. Once upon a time some doofus created a point tallying system for defensive players to try and create a way to compare a LB that makes a bunch of tackles in run support to a DB that makes a pair of tackles and a play on a pass to a DT that sacked a QB once. I'm not a fan.
  13. The ESPN coverage has been really good the past three years. Games are available for a week afterwards to rewatch on ESPN3. Hope that changes to the month that most NCAA coverage has.
  14. SportingIntelligence is the group that did the survey and collected the information on 333 teams in 17 leagues.
  15. Phoenix: Florida: The Miami Hurricanes football team has played in front of some bad crowds.
  16. You can compress a typical football game into 30 minutes with commercials too. http://www.sportsgrid.com/nfl/pie-chart-actual-football-watching-nfl-game-vs-replays-commercials-etc/
  17. This is what fan boards should be about. Take advantage of the current social media landscape and let the team know.
  18. North America and Japan + a few select European nations are the leaders in women's sports. This will be a good draw in Canada and a benefit for the communities lucky enough to have facilities to host. It's a shame that we didn't get more facilities built out of this but maybe after this goes well it will happen in the future. As for the Bomber camp I'm sure they will accommodate the fans in some regard. Question for the board: Would you pay a nominal fee to get better access than previous years? Would you donate $5 to the Bombers Fund to stand on the sidelines?
  19. Interesting numbers. CFL would've ranked a little higher in 2013.
  20. Both were starters in college. Waggoner made 33 starts at Dartmouth plus has pro experience at Detroit Lions camp last year. Jarret Chapman made 33 starts at Central Michigan over 3 years. Also of interest he has a cousin and a younger brother at CMU. They may be ones to watch in the future. Mike's prediction of a 3rd and 5th getting these guys is probably pretty fair. Next year's draft looks to be fairly good and with these new rules over who's eligible it could continue in this form for several seasons.
  21. This week's Golovkin vs Monroe Jr. bout should be a good one. GGG is fighting not even 90 days since his last title defense (that went 11 rounds) and Monroe Jr. is in his first 12 round bout of his career. Looking forward to it.
  22. Connor had more hits than any of the other LBs in the draft class. Led Can-West in tackles as a JR and SR. Made a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage and defended against the pass well. Last year 9 LBs were selected and expect more of the same this year. I had Connor as my #7 LB before the Jay Langa positive test at the Combine. I have him as my #9 LB. 7th rounder or free agent signing, I'd say. Langa has totally fallen off the map for me. At 5'9" he had an uphill battle anyways. Pedestrian test results at the combine along with the positive drug test have completely killed his chances. 9? Interesting. Langa had a lot going for him but I agree the lack of size was a major issue if he was to stay at LB but a lot less to move into a safety spot. He was the AUS top tackler setting a new record there, won the President's Trophy and was first team All-Canadian. Quite the cloudy skies surrounding all that now but instincts aren't enhanced just the physical. Out of curiosity, are Ackie and Omara in those previous 6? Or did you designate them DB/DL? Ackie is my #1 DB. Ron Omara came in at #3 LB.
  23. Queen's Doug Corby lit up the East West Bowl with a record setting 3 touchdown performance. Very easily a guy that would challenge Durant, Demski and Richards.
