  1. Connor had more hits than any of the other LBs in the draft class. Led Can-West in tackles as a JR and SR. Made a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage and defended against the pass well. Last year 9 LBs were selected and expect more of the same this year. I had Connor as my #7 LB before the Jay Langa positive test at the Combine.
  2. Connor Ralph is in the draft this year and likely too be taken around the 5th round. Good LB that hits everything in sight. Got an interview with him in the guide and he mentions two more heading into the Raymond Comet system that may come out better than these two.
  3. Doug Corby and Jimmy Ralph need to be on the initial CFL Scouting Bureau list.
  4. Down to the final 1:40 of the game. East 29 West 21.
  5. I'm not entirely clear on the whole family tree but I believe that Jimmy (Draft Class of 2016) and Connor (Draft Class of 2015) are nephews to the Ralphs that played in the CFL.
  6. Halftime now. Still East 15 West 7.
  7. Game in the 2Q and it's East 15 West 7 Better game than last year's.
  8. Get an early look at the next draft class: http://en.cis-sic.ca/eastwestbowl/index
  9. More from Cowboys camp - 20 minute look in at the rookie practice http://www.dallascowboys.com/video/2015/05/08/mini-camp-live-first-look-rookies-field Note that it's Jameill Showers that gets the ball for the team session. Bridge gets some throws in but starts 0-4.
  10. Takari Johnson is from Concordia but not the one in Quebec. He's from the Michigan school of the same name located in Ann Arbor in the deep shadow of the Big M program.
  11. That was the goal of setting the CFL date 10 days after the NFL date. They should know a lot more come May 11th.
  12. Jacob Ruby to Giants mini-camp. Alex Mateas to Jets mini-camp Daryl Waud to Giants mini-camp; Redskins mini-camp Byron Archambault to Giants mini-camp Sean McEwan to Giants mini-camp Sukh Chung to Giants mini-camp Tevaughn Campbell to Giants mini-camp Maxx Forde to Seahawks mini-camp Brandon Bridge to Lions mini-camp LeMar Durant to Giants mini-camp Tyler Varga signed by Colts Brett Boyko signed by Eagles
  13. Number is up to 12. 1 drafted 2 signed 9 to mini-camps
  14. Hey we wrote a free supplement to our draft guide to help cover the Supplemental Draft and some CFL Analytics work too -http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/Rids
  15. After reading this I'm disappointed that it won't happen.
  16. I find it weird that there's any muddy water in the Christian Covington draft status. Under the old rules he'd be in this year's draft because it's his fourth year since entering a four year institution. Under the new rules he'd be in this year's draft because declaring for the NFL draft ends your NCAA eligibility and therefore finishing his NCAA eligibility puts him into the CFL draft pool. He made his intentions known back on January 5th and signed the paperwork on January 9th. He went to high school in Vancouver so it's not like he's one of these players that they've lost track of over the years like an Orlando Franklin.
  17. The dash of hype is so friggin overpowering on the NFL draft. I'm glad that it isn't that bad on the Canadian side. Although perhaps it has in one case - the Case of Brandon Bridge.
  18. I agree with Chilly. Putting out a mock draft is something to respect! Some thoughts: I'd flip flop your #4 and #5 picks. Durant fits BC better than Montreal and Groulx fits Montreal better than BC. Chris Ackie is more of a DB than a guy that'll move up like Pruneau did last year. I see him as a great fit for Hamilton but not sure they'll see him as a first round guy so likely a second round pick to somebody. Hamilton and Winnipeg had a National at CB last year so they could be likely landing places for him. Winnipeg at #15? I also see Kwame Adjei as the #2 DB and a good CFL fit for either the wide side corner or at safety. He's a hitter! I believe that Shortill slips a little farther and Omara should be a second round guy. Saskatchewan really liked Blair Smith early in the evaluation process. I could see them using their 3rd round pick to get him if he's still there. Montreal really likes the versatile players so a Louis Mensah over Dillon Campbell in the 4th might be an option. Mensah is a strong guy that can play FB and did work as a LB at the combine. He's played both sides of the ball in the past.
  19. Last 12 years and the next 12 are very different. A few teams/governments with stadium debts to service relying on those Grey Cups to make those payments and fund their operations in a more general sense. In the last 10 years when Vancouver hosted 3 times there was also Montreal and Calgary in the rotation and both likely are out of the Grey Cup host talk for the next decade which opens up two years for hosting even before reviewing the Vancouver situation. They should drop at least one if not two out of the rotation. Toronto already gets 2 Grey Cups per decade anyhow so it shouldn't be too difficult to set up games for the new stadiums.
  20. Quite honestly as somebody going through similar situation in another country if he's made multiple attempts then he needs to find a different immigration lawyer. Any immigration lawyer worth their weight would have analyzed the situation prior to submitting all the paperwork and had a pretty good idea what the outcome would be and wouldn't submit the application until they believed it was a strong enough case.
  21. On the campus of Central Florida he was arrested for resisting arrest. http://national.suntimes.com/national-sports/nfl/7/72/914896/kevin-smith-arrested/
  22. There's a lot of clay here that can be turned into something great (if the powers that be would let it happen).
  23. OUA is afraid of travel. No schools travel as much as Manitoba and UBC being at the far ends of the largest geographical conference in the country (it really should be split into two conferences quite honestly). I think the OUA is worried about other sports looking to do the same thing. A national basketball schedule would threaten their domination thanks to the Ottawa schools. They need to go through the conferences to justify the existence of the "Northern 8". Many of these schools already travel across the country for exhibition games so the CIS could simply say why not just continue to do that since it's been happening for a decade. For this to work these games need to count for something. It may work better to aim for broadcasting the conference championship games this year (out of spite maybe snub the OUA...) and revisit the Northern 8 idea in December. That way they'd have games that matter, trophies on the line and a berth in the Bowl games the following week.
  24. Is he really that small? He's listed at 5'10 between 180-190. Unless he is exceptionally slow, he'll get a good shot. His high school height was listed at 5'6".
