He's coaching in Louisville and they finished 10-2 this year reaching the State quarter finals. They were 6-0 in district play. Brandon had a great October. His downfall is being a 150-150 QB meaning 150 yards passing and 150 yards rushing. It doesn't fit into the NFL scheme of things. The 50% passing percentage doesn't help either. (currently exactly 50% 121 of 242 passing) Still NFLDraftScout has him as the #6 QB out of 141 Senior QBs. That's not taking into account the number of juniors that will flood into the draft but should get him some notice. Hope he's at Senior Bowl this year.

Well he's not Top 30 for sure. Issue for him will be similar to Reid Quest last year, even with some good numbers he'll be in tough to crack a roster.

This is Byron's draft year. He'll be an early selection I believe although there are a group of LBs that could all make an impact and sometimes when there's a group of them they slide down the draft board as teams address other needs knowing that #5 LB is only marginally behind the #2. Currently my #9 LB was an All-Canadian in 2012 and I'm not sure he'll climb any higher.

If you mean 2nd DB taken in the draft well then that's about where I have him too. 2nd overall? I have him about the 8th best defensive player meaning a 2nd-3rd Round selection.

Manitoba left Demski as a receiver to boost his chances at a CFL career. He's another classic Durie type. Durie, Coombs, Harris are great players to build a career on. As for the CFL Combine, if Varga comes north for it his numbers will be tops of all players. There's 5 guys that will post great head turning testing numbers: Nic Demski Ty Varga Shaq Murray-Lawrence Chris Ackie Tevaughn Campbell Dillon Campbell won't be far behind either. Melvin Abankwah could post some solid numbers at the Montreal Regional. Tyler Varga is a Sean Millington type player that is faster. Loves getting 30 carries a game, runs over LBs and good luck to DBs that try to pull him down.

Part of drafting those guys at #4 is for two reasons - spots 1 to 3 are teams that need Nationals that will stick around and teams in 4 to 6 can afford to use a pick to secure the rights to a guy that they hope will eventually be back in Canada. The legit NFL guys don't even get picked - Ty Crawford, Orlando Franklin. This year's best prospect will be a 6th round NFL pick in Brett Boyko. Guessing that 4 OL go in the first round. Probably 5 in the top 10. 3 or 4 skill guys go in those top 10 as well (Demski, Varga, Addison, Campbell) Not sure if you take Demski at #2 but pretty sure he's not there at #11. (although maybe Shaq Murray-Lawrence is who'd be nice in a CFL jersey too)

Yes most teams do however they are primarily there to work with positions and help with the expanded roster there in training camp vs learn the Canadian game. I'd put a heavier emphasis on looking for bodies to become future OCs and DCs because if your co-ordinators are any good they'll be moving up after a year or two. Look at Toronto losing a DC and a STC in the same offseason.

If I was a CFL HC I would invite in a couple guest coaches a year with the thinking that these guys may eventually become CFL co-ordinators vs just another set of eyes for a position group.

Laval season tickets include the pre-season game they host as well as the two playoff games. They more or less expect to be in the Q championship game. So since this thread got quiet there's a lot going on. Queen's forfeited a game because of an ineligible player. Calgary forfeited a game because of 2 ineligible players. McGill had a player arrested for domestic assault. And Nashville is the cross roads of the heartland. Here the SEC, Conference USA and the Ohio Valley Conference all have football schools. Add in the Atlantic Sun Conference for basketball right in town and the one hour radius adds two more Ohio Valley schools (Austin Peay and Tennessee Tech) and then a little farther drive to Memphis in the American Athletic Conference. Plus all the little schools. I think we have 16 degree granting schools with football teams in the state (population of 6.3Million).

interesting. lots of great live music going on there, I guess. who have you seen live in the last while, If you've had the chance? TONS of music here. More live venues than Canada is the common phrase among the ex-pats. I don't get out to many of the venues but my wife has shared a stage or been a guest of a good list of acts that you'd know from an afternoon of listening to the radio. I've seen some acts like Richard Marx, Kenny Loggins and an arm's length of writers performing their songs made hits by others. It's a crazy town where a chunk of the population lives strictly off the tips of good folks that come to listen to live music.
