the watcher reacted to Eternal optimist in 2019-20 CFL Offseason
Seriously? Just put all the anti-vaxxers on a shuttle to the sun like that episode of The Simpsons...

the watcher got a reaction from Mr Dee in 2019-20 CFL Offseason
A couple of comments. As far as those that won't get vaccinated, I think it will be way, way less than %20 in Canada.I would be shocked if it was 10. As far as a second wave, if numbers go up we will do what we did at the start.Use Canadian commonsense, be calm and do what's right. If we have to back off on opening , so be it. I hate seeing the idiot behavior and rhetoric creep across the border worse than the disease.

I sure am glad that we're keeping the border closed.

the watcher reacted to Eternal optimist in Canadian Politics
Dude, you cannot be serious. This is blatant conflict of interest. You'd have to be incredibly naive to think stuff like this doesn't happen behind closed doors anyways. What bothers me, is the fact Trudeau failed to recuse himself from the decision, I mean, if you're gonna be crooked, fine, they're all dogs anyways. But to be so brazen about it? That's just insulting the intelligence of the Canadian public. The fact that nobody in the PM's office stood up and was like "didn't your (insert relative here) do work for them? Doesn't this look bad?" shows either gross incompetence, a complete disregard for public well-being (and greed), or both.
If anything the fact Margaret has been a speaker for that long should be an argument against assigning them such a large contract, in the political world you should not only maintain actual independence, but also perceived independence as well.
I wish I could decline my ballot in the next federal election.

Yup. And I'm not sure the current candidates can do it either.
I applaud what Trudeau has done to manage the Covid crisis, but outside of that he's just like any other politician.

Lawler Setting Sights High For Sophomore Campaign With Bombers
Lawler said that Darvin Adams and Drew Wolitarsky both helped him out immensely when it came to learning the waggle and other nuances of the Canadian game along with the playbook.
...“It was just infectious. There was something in the air and it felt like if you were a Winnipeg Blue Bomber, we knew that we were going to win and we knew what was going to work from that preparation.”
...Not many people are able to achieve that in their football career. I feel very grateful to be able to call myself a Grey Cup champion. Now, I hold myself to a standard and I know what it takes to be there. I’m going to hold it very highly. I’m a father, I’m a husband, I’m a Grey Cup champion.”

Yup.....I'm pretty sure we kept the right guy.....Reading the column story and his thoughts about returning, makes our decision to keep McGuire a very insightful one

Sean McGuire
“I want to get back up there and prove myself, for sure. But, more than anything, I’m just chomping at the bit to get back to my teammates and just do my job. I’m going to continue to try and learn from Zach. Last year down the stretch learning from him was unbelievable and our relationship grew a lot. I learned so much from him in a short period of time and even in these Zoom meetings, just being able to pick his brain and hear him communicate and how he dissects things on the field has made me absolutely excited to get back and continue to prove myself to my teammates. I want to continue to earn trust in the locker room with my teammates, that comes first.
“All I can do – all everyone can do – is just wait this thing out.”

the watcher reacted to Rich in Bombers Post Operating Profit of $3.5M
I like to think that our $600k was in part used to pay Khari's salary. Then I don't mind as much.

the watcher reacted to Eternal optimist in Bombers Post Operating Profit of $3.5M
Preventing the Bombers from registering an even greater profit were expenses from an all-road playoff run to the Grey Cup, an $800,000 increase from the previous year’s playoff costs, and the CFL’s temporary takeover of the Montreal Alouettes, which cost each team $660,000.
...It is good to know we currently own the Alouettes both on and off the field.

I know its for the good of the league but it pissed me off how many times we've had to prop up Eastern teams.

I did too, except for maybe the cringe-worthy Keith Urban in the booth moments in the 3rd quarter. Whoever thought that was a good idea should be fired. Please let it be Rod Black...
