I do want to say that Kenny Walker and Peterman caught everything that went in their direction.

Lol at people giving up on Streveler he had zero time in the pocket and was given low percentage plays. Yeesh. Whiteheads issue is more concerning because he had chances to run it up but choose to go side to side. I'd much rather have Nelson returning. I'll take the guy who gives us positive yards then the guy who will break one big one but then lose 10-20 on every other one.

I don't care if it's back ups.... 37 - 1 with a new coach is not a good start.

Hard game to pick three since it was really ugly but I'd say 1 - Fenner/Este/Sayles 2 - Bennett showed that he isn't useless and would be able to produce. 3 - The Canadians who won't make the team but played hard. HH - Mexican kicker who seemed to really be having fun.

We've seen guys like Whitehead before... and many times before those kind of players learn that even with the big field you cannot consistently return kicks going side to side. O'Shea is going to want a guy running North / South and much less risk.

As much as Doug Brown is smug, this is light years better on the ears then Rod Black and Suitor...

Este has made some nice tackles. I like how Bennett is looking, the guy won't lose his job. Kenny Walker hasn't dropped anything yet which can't hurt his chances.

Peterman will be our new Dressler. Guy catches everything thrown his way and then finds a hole for some YAC. Did Dressler retire? I don't remember him signing with anyone?

Whitehead hurt.... increases Nelsons chance.

Half time thoughts.. For returner Nelson is winning so far. Whitehead/Santiago is next with Jones losing because of the fumble. Fenner looking good, Sayles as well. Coleman is getting cut. Speller was not good at all. Good for the Mexican kicker, glad he got some good boots off. Lawler needs to do something, he's ran nice routes but really needed to make two of those catches. Thomas bulldozing and looking good. Cover teams looking real good. McGuire and Bennett with nice arms. In the 2nd half I'd like to see Whitehead at receiver and maybe a few more medium range passes.

Dinwiddie was slow and had a noodle arm... not even close. Just a few bombs that he rushed because he was being pressured.

Fenner has looked great, Coleman is getting burned badly. I'm not worried about Streveler going deep and missing. The o-line is getting burned because Edmonton is blitzing. Of course a Maas team is going to run blitzes instead of the usual vanilla defense that most teams run in pre season.

Sync seems to be almost perfect. Streveler with two in-completions... time to cut him

Defense is awesome , I'm surprised on Edwards at receiver and Johnson being the kick returner. The rest looks elite.

I don't remember in the previous 5 or so pre season camps of this many rave reviews of the import receivers. Usually it was more so along the lines of a guy looking speedy but inconsistent on the hands or someone who looks decent purely because they had some NFL experience.

SJ Green is not done , that being said the stats are slightly skewed as most of his big games were against the East.

Considering many UFC ppv's these days get between 100 - 150 k I'd imagine anything over 100 would be considered a massive success.

I guess we would need Bluto's insight on the reasons. Going to games both in Ottawa and Hamilton, where the stadiums are located and how the gameday feels it's more of a small town community kind of aura. I'd imagine in Toronto if they played in the 'burbs and had more of a college gameday with tailgates maybe they'd have more success attracting people not wanting to deal with the hassle of going into the heart of the city where it's hectic. Montreal has so many places for young people to go for entertainment, they'd really need to follow the Ottawa model and try to get the young people wanting to spend their money to get drunk at the football game rather then elsewhere.
