I found the park and ride system to be the best means to get myself and my son to and from the games.
My issue has been with the disorganization after the games, including where and when to load the buses.
Sometimes they load at one spot, sometimes another 10 feet back (or forward). Wouldn't matter except that there is no formal queue system, so it's every person for themselves fighting to get on. There are some really observant and helpful people who try to help those in need get on. That does not include the Transit supervisors who create the mess. They are indifferent to suggestions or complaints and are strictly worried with no one crossing the street to load before it's time. They don't care where the bus stops or make any attempt to help with the queue.
They also choose to load one bus at a time (at the start), which would make sense if there are only a few people trying to get on. However, when you have thousands, it actually delays the departure of buses and does not help. Of course, that's all thrown out the window after 15 to 20 minutes when all the buses seem to open their doors.
Once you get on the bus, all is good. I find it fast and efficient; however, the mess they create leading up to that point is exasperating.

Using buses is more efficient than allowing more cars in.  There is essentially two ways in and out of U of M.  Adding more cars by increasing parking would make getting out substantially worse.

Why do fans crap all over Nicholls when last year we had Brohm & Marve to poop up the field after Willy went down? When he got here for a 7th round pick he had to deal with a garbage OL, the worst receiving corps in the CFL, no run game & an OC with no imagination who couldn't make adjustments during games. Considering everything, he played well.

I think the only time this will bring people down town is on those special events when people want to celebrate and congregate.  Like when The Bombers win the Grey Cup or Jets win the Stanley Cup.
I don't know if it will affect businesses all that much, it is still more convenient to walk underground and people will stay inside in the winter.
I think the biggest effect will be on traffic, which is really the reason they were closed off in the first place.  People turning and having to wait for pedestrians crossing will slow everything down in an area that is already congested in rush hour.  Most people turn left or right when going from Portage to Main, and now they will all have to wait for pedestrians.
Close down the roads during special events to let people congregate.  Is there really any other benefit to opening it up?

Ok everyone, sorry it took so long but while we have sun that lawn needed a trim!
    From my eyes of course:
Buckner picked off willy 1st play of scrimmage and ran it back for a score. The defense is gelling together nicely, the boys are fired up. He may not take Randles job but he needs to be used on the field. Practiced with a lot of fire today. Maybe Randle moves to B Johnson's spot, he looked a little shaky on the plays I saw him on.   Few plays later Bass had a pick, this time of Nichols.   Oline breaking a number of runs through, really nice end around by R Smith, dude is a lot of fun to watch can't wait to see him on labour day!   McDuffie looks really good, a number of solid grabs in drills and scrimmage, I must be missing something because I can't see why a team would cut a guy like him. His hands are solid and he makes guys miss on special teams.   Harris very vocal when taking repsoff, big time leader... more gushing about him going to be huge for us this season and so on....   No way is medlock punting.... looks like Castillo may be out of a job... Pavlopoulos had a cpl 60+ boots.... a **** tonne of hang time. His first was a squib, I made the irrational decision to write him off and then 3 huge kicks with nice direction... wow.   Hurl made a really nice stop on Harris in the backfield, I don't know if it was solid instinct by Hurl or a missed assignment by OL but give credit where its due, he made a nice play.   Jesse Briggs.... he better be a demon on special teams this year because it's hard to believe he's going to beat out many of our other LB's or Canadians.   Darvin Adams...my man, made some really nice catches, Willy loves the guy, they are always talking giving each other props. He isn't going anywhere. But you can begin to see some standouts in WR corps. Besides the obvious, J Davis will make the team, Mayo had some nice catches, Talley look like they belong. Cone looks like one, Jean still can't catch worth blank, and doubt Bastien makes the club (we just have better options, no slight on the guy), and Richards still looks a little rough, but think he can turn things around once he feels more comfortable after rehab. I can't imagine him being on anything but the PR or IR to start season.   Who else....guys like Kearney looked comfortable, moves very stealthy broke some passes. Moe Leggett had a pick, looked like a stud, he hung out a bit with the other NFL guys today, looked like Wilson, Patrick are going to make it tough on the coach. These boys are always working...   Loffler was a lot of fun to watch today, he flies around the field.   Watched a little of the OL/DL one on ones and didn't see anyone really jump of the page besides Bryant.   Macho is terrible... nuff said.   Not really organized but thoughts throughout practice.

Went to Practice today...raining most of the time for the players, but didn't seem to hold them back at all.
We have a lot of really good looking receivers, which we couldn't say in previous years.
First...the latest receiver into camp #72 Lestar Jean...no thanks...tall but not fast, doesn't look nearly as athletic as most of the others, is not agressive enough and drops some.
Dressler and Smith? both look really good, especially Smith, great hands and movement, and a motor that doesn't quit.
Jace Davis and Justin Talley, both of them still look really good. To bad Sheppard is injured. Veltung also looked very good...Kohlert looks very good, Bastien not so much.
Now for Richards...don't know if he is still nursing the injury...but he is slow off the line, and to me looks slow in general, and doesn't have an easy time getting open. He was fine on a couple of quick hitters but other than that...well...I think Vitt is better than him but we will see. Feoli-Guido made some nice catches but also dropped a couple of fpretty easy ones.
McDuffie...is a good find. He is very quick with really good lateral movement, and catches very well. Will be interesting to see him returning kicks.
As mentioned Adams got hurt on one play, Kevin Cone is way better than Lestar Jean in my opinion.
We are going to have to make some tough cuts.
Andrew Harris looks fantastic, and gives it his all on every play. For me a toss up between Anderson and Flanders.
Medlock was attempting kicks from mid field, he was wide on one and short on two others, but not by much and in wet conditions. Teague Sherman was his holder.
Always easier for me to watch offence, but Euclid Cummings, and Nate Collins look really good. Justin Cole Also. Jake Thomas just breezed past the OL on one on ones. Butcher is one large man, and is obviously very strong and not particularly slow for a man his size. Westerman was Westerman no more needs to be said. It is not hard to tell that Corney really wants to learn, he is talking to the coach to get more instruction. Still impressed with Loffler, he may surprise a few people. I though Celiscar and Fogg has very good days. Bruce Johnson not so much.
There were probably others the coaches thought were good, but hard to track everyone.
Quarterbacks? They all had their moments, but for me and in more than one practice...Brian Bennett looks better than Dominique Davis. He moves better and has a better arm, trouble is that he is less experienced.
One thing is for sure...the QB's will have a lot more options on offence than the last few years. Now they just have to take advantage of them.

I disagree. You don't think her lack of cooperation was included in the massive financial settlement?  Rich celebrities shouldn't be able to buy sex with kids.
He raped a 13 year old. He admitted to it. He fled the country. He's loved high on the hog on France making movies and millions of dollars. Doesn't matter that he's old. Doesn't matter that he's a talented director.
It's like the justice minister said, if he was a teacher no one would be defending him.  What possible reason should he be allowed to just get away with it?  Cause he's a good director?

This whole Gorilla story that is supposedly dividing the internet drives me nuts.  There is not a single person out there who, in the position of watching a 400lb gorilla drag their 2 year old around, if armed, wouldnt have shot him.  Sad, yes.  Tragic, yes.  But the kids life is more important.  thats just the way it is.  Those bleeding hearts are welcome to go inside the gorilla enclosure and we will all promise not to use lethal force to try and save them...I bet they will change their minds in a hurry.

Dude, when you go into the hospital for surgery you don't pay a cent. For the prescription drugs they give you, the surgery itself, the nursing & special care.... Using whatever machines are needed to monitor you or to push antibiotics thru your systems. Or the recovery. When you leave there isn't a collection agency chasing you to pay up... Your taxes are a fraction of the cost.
And hopefully you don't give me one of these, I ain't never been sick or spent time in the hospital so why should my taxes pay for other people who are?? If you haven't then your time is coming.

Vince Li is not at all the same situation as Carla Homolka, and although he has killed someone he actually isn't capable of knowingly doing it.   He didn't know he was killing a person, in his mind it was some other thing he was killing, and he has to live with what happened in reality the rest of his life on top of the mental health issues he has.
Because of that one event, Vince Li, wherever he is living, will forever be monitored to be sure he is taking his meds.
What Hamolka did, she did with the full cognisant knowledge of it, and with her parole, she won't be monitored anywhere near as close as Vince Li, if at all.
So while I can understand your apprehension of living close to Vince Lee, the risk of him re-offending is lower then some other random crime or accident taking your life, yet I don't see you talking about barricading yourself indoors in bubble wrap to avoid traffic accidents and deadly viruses.
I get you are only comparing living in the same neighbourhood as these people, but making the comparison of Homolka to Vince Li does a big disservice to people who suffer from mental health issues.

Right on. I've created the league. I made sure to set the ratio requirements prior to the draft, so if someone is forced into auto draft for whatever reason it should consider the Canadian count (I seem to recall the ratio getting adjusted after the draft, which may be why 17 got boned) When I'm back in front of my pc I'll start sending out some pm's. There is no cost involved but I may spring the $5 to get live stats.

That would make 8. Is anyone else interested if someone can't make the draft? Or if thee is enough interest there could be a 2nd league.

Legit. 8 teams, live fantasy draft, you stick with your roster but can add/drop players and make trades. There's a ratio, individual defensive players, the whole deal.

It's pretty much the best thing anyone can do with their time.

It somehow manages to make the CFL season even more fun by giving you additional reason to follow every team (to see how your players are doing), but honestly the most fun thing is the draft itself. It's a lot of fun to go back and forth about picks. The only downside is listening to Mike tell everyone how he can't believe Ottawa LB recruit ____________ _____________ outta NCAA Div 6 was still available in the 9th round of the draft (ERMAGHERD YER GERS!!11!!!)

Yeah, they weren't sure that they were going to be running this year, but got the go-ahead just recently. I'm definitely in for one this year, if we can get people actually committed to it. People who will actually show up for the draft and stick around all season, too...
