For a guy who said when we first hired him...;; we will win with special teams and it'll be a big part of our success'  Mike O is looking a little foolish...He was a special teams coach and a damned good one, it must be one helluva embarrassment to see what's transpiring under his watch..This problem is not something knew and has been noted time and time again and yet nothing changes...Poor coverage downfield on punts....little or no blocking for our returners to name a couple...What the hell is going on when you know Mike must be totally aware of the deficiencies and nothing changes...I haven't must use for Bellefool but even less like for Tracey since he's come on board...We need better.

This is what I don't understand, and maybe it's because they're both not micromanagers, but when Burke was here, our D sucked, yet he didn't seem to do anything to help Creehan it seemed. Now our special teams suck and it seems like MOS isn't helping out Tracey. What gives?

Could be "rookie coach" syndrome, overwhelmed with the scope of managing the project as a whole.

...and/or being lumbered down with some weak sisters (Marcel/Tracy)  At least we are seeing some improvment/adjustments with Hall.   MOS better start holding the reins tighter, because some of this stink is beginning to settle on him....

  2. Willy has pass rushers in his face by the time he gets the ball in the games vs Hamilton and Edmonton over and over again.  That's just poor OL play.  You can't even tell what the playcall is on most of those plays because Willy is running for his life or being taken to the turf before anything develops, he has no chance to get his eyes downfield.  Flipping to quick game wouldn't matter if your QB isn't even given the time to set and throw from the time the ball is snapped.

Even against BC who didn't have a great pass rush he was making a lot of throws with Picard being blown back right into him off the snap.  Picard's not even smart enough or willing to tie the play by hitting the dirt.  Realize your limitations.

The TD to Adams vs BC is a good example, Willy tossed that bomb just with his upper body because he had no chance to step into that throw with Picard in his lap.  If you have 2 guys on the field who can't block anybody and make mental mistakes on top of that, the rest of your offence has no chance to do anything consistently.

Laurent and Hall didn't even have to steamroll Picard or Neufeld on many snaps yesterday, they just straight up came out of their stance and surged through their gap without as much as a speed bump to hurdle.  How the hell does that happen on the inside?  Those guys aren't even extra rushers, they are the freaking DT's!  Those guys are accounted for first and foremost in the protection.  Picard is here as a veteran presence, he's never been able to block CFL DL, he's been a reliable snapper.  His snaps have been terrible this season and there are tons of mental breakdowns on his OL.  Is Goossen that bad?

This needs to be addressed ASAP if they have any aspirations of winning more than 6-7 games this season, because even as the rest of the team gets better, that OL, the C and LG spots in particular, are going to hold everything back.

Watching Picard (Marcel) attempting to get the line calls straight, was like watch a duck, after it was hit over the head with the rubber hammer.  We just looked so passive and confused up there.  There is no rule that states you cannot at least rub or chip a guy on the way in.   Even after Willy went out....had 2 plays where guys came in on Brohm, untouched....and on the Marve pick, he had backside pressure from a guy who (you guessed it) was untouched.....

Edm/Ham make us look like puppies, out there....and it starts with this OC, who has nothing, when the other team amps up the pressure.  Picard has been a massive dissapointment, so far, and Neufled took a major step back this week.

  3. All the big mistakes, the direct to points ones were individual breakdowns. Hard to call out the response of the whole team based on that. Hamilton's offense didn't do much. D responded when they got a chance. Banks didn't do much. OL just isn't good enough to sustain drives, mentally and somewhat physically. Stoudermire is an idiot who is trying to do too much. I have no issue with about 40 of the 44 who played today. Get a LG, C, KR who are average to good CFL players and this team is in the 9-11 win range.

Agree in the main, especially the D, but this is a real bad "habit" when it happens as often as it does. We had essentially 53 minutes of garbage time..

  4. Bombers driving, but Willy tipped pass.....

...results in INT 6 for Tigercats

Plenty of time to recover from something like that..

...or not....blocked punt and pass to Grant for another 6..

Then Stodimire plays bobblehead on kickoff...turnover.

...followed by short pass for yet another 6..

    21-0 for Hamilton...

Blowing a game in only 7 minutes..pretty efficient

    Film at 11..

Bomber special teams up to their usual (lousy) ways..

Pat Tracy still leading a charmed life..

    Willy harassed and knocked around....

...5 sacks in the first half...

Bomber OL standing up to the Hamilton pressure

....like a bunch of milk cartons

    Picard's struggles continue....

Newfeld took a giant step backwards...

Cotton and Adams go down early...

Bomber OC, QB and OL all looking dazed and confused...

... no answers for Hamilton pressure.... yet again

Bucknor beat like a drum, for long TD pass...

31-0 at the half. Good Bomber plays...moral victories.

Bombers left it all on the field, that half....

...at least as far as leaving a mighty stench...

Not as much pressure from Blue front 7

    Westerman....a notable exception, anyways...

Early 2nd drive capped by Veltung TD catch...

Bombers make 2nd half adjustments....on one side of ball.

Bomber D...starts to pick it up...

    Back to back INT's...

..but O simply can't do anything with it

..attacking with plays you could time with a sundial...

Willy down again ...leaves game....holding his knee....

..while some Blue fans wonder, why he was still in...

Marshall at RB, looking pretty good...

    Veltung needs more playing time...

    Brohm not getting it done(again)...

...you could time some of his passes, with that sundial...

    Marve finally gets in....

    ... and no longer a virgin....Robert picked for 6..

38-8 Hamilton... 4 turnovers lead to 28 points......

Bombers just seem to evaporate, against physical teams

Good thing... that gin evaporates much more slowly...

  5. Unreal arm...

His first game against Montreal....he throws a 35 yd deep slant to Tommy Scott, and you could hang your heavy wash on it.   I was in awe.    Of course another game, he throws a quick slant to Scott, who is not watching - ball hits him in the back of the head, and practically cold ***** him......

Brock woud throw the ole quick square out pattern, but they would be 15-20 yarders to the wide side - ball would get there before the defender could react to the break....bloody near impossible to stop.

Caught some passes after practice, from Dieter - still have a slight cavity in my chest, to show for it.   Brock would then kneel down, and throw spirals into the endzone.....from midfield!
