  1. Well, enough people, round this league have already filled me in.....to how badly this organization is viewed by others....and it is not a edifying sight....

At this stage, we really have to sign Burris, who would provide a creditable option at QB, short term.....and buy the new management some time....to bring in the next young hope, or two.  Selling Hall and "somebody or other" as the options, going into this year, would create some pretty scorched earth, round this fanbase....

  2. Would of loved to get Banks here, say....3 years ago.

That said......if ever a team was crying out for some attitude and veteran leadership....it's this one.   Banks is the kind of guy who can be the de facto assistant (for a rookie HC)....in the room.

As far as Poblah.....look like Tarzan, play like Jane.   Tracking the ball, in the air and catching it....ongoing problems.  If Wally can't turn on the light bulb, Kito's next gig.... will be working out of a cubicle, somewhere.....

  3. Bombers took the "play safe" route here.....experience and continuity, over pursuing "excellence"... like say, trying to find the next great OC.

    Oh well....

At least MB has a clean slate this year (no trace of Crow)   We will see.

As far as the Goltz banishment....my money was on it being Burke's idea... in a typical attempt to deflect the heat.... from his own shortcomings.

  4. Pretty sure that one way or the other.... Bombers are not going for the "experienced" option at HC.

Given that scenario... O'Shea is a name, I hoped would come up.

We can make fans happy (and finally have that de facto QB coach), by giving Jones the shot as OC - the next logical step in his career progression.

Bottom line, this team has simply had a giant void in leadership and the required attitude, needed to win.  If we are going with a "comer", I just have a gut feeling that O"Shea could change up the vibe, round here....

Of course, we could simply retain Burke, Creehan, and Marcel ......save some dough, and wallow in mediocrity, or much worse....for for the next 10 years.....

    Bring on the comers......

  5. Betting on Walters.....nice, tidy, cheap, already in the house.....none of that strenuous, exhaustive search stuff.....

    Hope I'am wrong...

Btw...as far as waiting almost a month to determine Burke's fate....the Bomber braintrust might want to clear up this "interim" mode ASAP....for if this drags on much further. ...they will have to start worrying about more and more "interim fans"

  6. What some folks fail to realize is....that at this point....firing Burke is no longer an option.

    It is a prerequisite.

That is....if you actually want to create some sort of "new attitude", round these parts

...and are simply tired of this guy's excuses, his playing "not to lose", the lack of leadership and purpose, the failure to take any responsibility whatsoever, the inadequate preparation for games, the unsound on-field decisions, and finally......his standing around along the sidelines, looking like Huckleberry Hound, after Clementine dumped him yet again.......

    I know that I am.

Never mind Monday......Burke should be fired, even before the sound of Saturday's final gun, fades into the night.

  7.

When id this become the hypocrisy forum?

Everyone got what they wanted, Buck is gone and now you get to suffer with the rookies. Laying the blame at Burke's feet is just a way to ease their conscience now.

Yup, after 4 years Buck is finally gone and we get to suffer with the rookies.......which of course is a major reason Mack is unemployed, right now.  Actually, Burke is being blamed, for a number of things....beyond that.

Hey, he's either responsible for the personnel on the field or he isn't, so which is it?

Generally, the HC has a major input, in personnel decisions......unless we buy the theory that Burke was/is just a helpless puppet/victim of Mack.

Burke IS responsible.... for maximizing the talents of the existing personnel on the field, overseeing the activities of the assistant coaches, making needed in-game adjustments, making the correct in-game decisions and providing a motivational/leadership example for both the staff and the players.....

How would people grade him, on those?

  9. If after 3+ years....you are afraid to let Goltz throw a pass, in a situation like that....then there is no reason for him to be here.

Bottom line.....need 1 point, with 25 seconds and a time out, to work with - any other team in this league.....is going to give it a shot.
