  1. Not getting killed in TOP was somewhat refreshing.....especially for our D.
  2. Yup, particularly on that over the middle stuff, between the hashes....Macho is lined up way back there.......this is on Hall.
  3. Plenty of things to clean up....but the Bombers were much more physical and showed some grit. Always somewhat more forgiving, when I see that.....
  4. Better Bomber D early.... Blue line up for FG, but holder (Dressler) wanders off field ....penalty makes it 51 instead of 46...which of course, Medlock misses.... ..and naturally, Banks runs it back 121 yds for the TD.. Blue O dinking and dunking...but moving the chains... When not missing blocks, or taking penalties.. ....well enough for better TOP and some field goals.... Harris still effective in passing game....and runs real hard.... ....he has to touch the ball 20+ per game... Red zone O, still not a Bomber speciality....... Rough half for Goossen at C... Moe Leggett jumps in front of hook pattern.......easy 40 yd TD... Ensuing kickoff takes a ole Blue Bomber Bounce....with a Macho recover Willy still having problems hooking up with Smith ....until he sticks a no-look right in Smith's arm crook...for short TD Bombers up 22-10 at the half After shutting down the Hamilton O...entire first half McDuffie fumbles 2nd half kickoff..... ....and TD pass to Fantuz, in behind Hawkins ...follows..... Then Owens grabs TD pass behind Posey.. with like 4 guys offside..... ...replay the down? nah.....now 25-24 Blue Ian Wild forced 2 fumbles Leggett had 2 picks and a sack.... Posey had a pick and fumble recovery.... ...but also some real problems in coverage..... Bombers drive the ball down.... Adams makes nice catch on under thrown bomb... Waggoner had big game on special teams.... Jace Davis at R...still looking pretty good... Smith/Dressler finally showing signs of life ....but Willy then fumbles it deep in Ham red zone...... Blue get a drive.....Medlock makes it 28-24 Ticats get it back, drive inside Bomber territory... But Hubbard crunches Masoli and recovers the fumble.... Plenty of warts....but a huge win. Crucial 2 points. Bomber O moved the ball, and ate up TOP.... ...with a near world record of dinks and dumps.... ...but cashing in with TDs.....is still a struggle..... No downfield pass game yet, though... Better play from Blue D front 7..... ....a few more blitzes and stunts...... Bombers finally generated some turnovers and sacks ..but still pretty soft coverage in the back Overall though....Blue more intense and physical, this week. Lacking in some style points.....but in for the win ...and into the gin.
  5. Somewhere between copious.....and epic amounts, I suppose......
  6. We need to get out of the gate....and accomplish something. Which is like saying, that the Titanic needed to avoid that iceberg........
  7. What was this all about again? Trained intervention operators need to be on standby......
  8. With the stuff we have on the wings, no particular reason to rush this kid. It's all about physical maturity......the nicely rounded skill set on O, is already there. He can build up a head of steam with the Moose, then race down the track with the Jets. ....but if he is lights out at training camp, and can take a spot from the get-go (and it would have to be top 9 at worst), then more power to him.....
  9. Pivotal, alright.....coming back home 0-3 to face a physical Edmonton team, that we have struggled against.....in front of a even further disgruntled base, is to be avoided......
  10. Well, if we end up with another year of ineptitude.....will be interesting to hear the rationalizations for keeping the current regime on........
  11. Some consolation......might of passed over some pretty good football guys, but other than Kelly or perhaps Mack......at least we cornered the market on nice guys and real fine human beings.... With MOS's coaching approach and his comments.......the trouble with always converting yourself into an air raid shelter, to protect players.....is that you end up taking the blasts....and eventually the fall.....
  12. It will be Bomberphobia, if this stuff keeps up......
  13. I don't agree with some of the thoughts posted in this thread, but people have the perfect right to express them. Not every thing is black and white.....it is always a matter of degrees, as far as what is considered an appropriate level of criticism.....or complaining....or at what specific point one becomes the other. No shortage of opinions on that. Lets just play fair. .....of course, a win or two could really help both the atmosphere and the discourse, round here. Sorry about the "lecture"......
  14. If you report what happened accurately......in some quarters, this could be regarded as bitching...
  15. If posting is down.....would speculate that the continual losing might have something to do with it. Posting about a winning football team is a hell of a lot more fun....
  16. ....and my reply was not directed at you personally.....just at the idea that we should simply pick up our toys and go home, when things are bad. cheers.
  17. Who's having a tantrum? We all have different coping mechanisms. Part of being a fan (particularly life-long) is being engaged with the team in some manner. For most of us, it is the ole Interweb. For myself, I try to inject at least a modicum of wit, or irony, even while being critical. Odds and Sods, even in it's current repetitive state (same ole stuff) is a diversion, and has become in a funny way, a sort of "duty" I have been, and will always pay the freight, to support the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Not one of those BS types who spend time on the boards, but not support the team at the games. If anyone else wants ...."send messages" to the club, or disfigure themselves with paper bags, or whatever....fine. But what I don't need....is anyone.....to instruct me on how to respond to the state of the Bombers, bad or good......ever.
  18. Nah, as real good fans, we should simply pay our money, and suffer in silence......
  19. Well, O'Shea's job as HC is to have the entire team ready to play. Since MOS got here....the constant narrative has been..... that players "want to come and play for him" Great. They can start anytime, now...
