[MERGED] Drew Willy Watch And Fine Discussion
Pretty clear divide here. You have one side who is concerned about the health and wellbeing of the players and one side who wants nothing more than to win a football game at all costs. Maybe it's time to re-examine which side you want to be on.

Fire Richie Hall
Why would we pull Bucknor out when he's been our best Canadian on defence thus far? If anything, I'm taking out Hurl, Westerman, and Anderson and starting Thomas at DT and Americans at MLB and DE.

Also if the players don't know this stuff then the coaches need to be doing a better job of teaching them. Whether that's MB, Buck, Howell or all of them, they have to coach the players up better.

Interesting, I think those numbers are on the lower side of what he will get. Bump everything up by .25-.5 and I think it's right there.

No one knows. If only there was a profession of experts who spent years studying a specific field...lets call it "medicine" and were then able to be hired to provide their expert opinions to people so that we no longer went through life "unknowing".I get what you're saying. But there is nothing to believe that Willy passed ALL testing, has ZERO symptoms or effects and should still sit out. Why 14 days? Why 8? Why 30? Why not a year? Since this isnt based on any scientific decisions. If he goes through practice with no symptoms, he's good to go. Medicine isn't a static field. They don't know everything, not yet. There are still debates in the medical field regarding concussions and the treatment of concussions. However one thing they all agree upon is this: You can be symptom free and still be concussed. Yeah you're right, 8, 14, 30 days, it's all arbitrary amounts of time. Totally. But it gives a buffer zone, just in case. I think that's the way we are eventually going to go, too, where the league mandates the use of such a buffer zone.

14 days seems like a nice middle ground. Honestly I would like to go 30 days but you have to draw the line somewhere. Maybe 8 days is enough. But the point is that no one knows. Not even doctors. Every case is different and concussions and post concussion syndrome are not black-and-white diagnoses. By doing it my way, you risk a guy sitting on the bench for a week or two while healthy. By pushing the limits and bringing a guy back as soon as he appears symptom free, you risk a guy getting a serious brain injury. To me it is an easy decision.

I have to agree. Concussion protocols are almost laughably poor. I'm not saying Willy was knocked out or has a concussion, but there is still a ton of work to be done in the field of brain injuries and concussion awareness. Anyone in here making definitive statements about head injuries or concussion protocols is simply trying to make themselves seem more knowledgeable than they actually are. The medical community at large is still looking for answers, they certainly don't exist on a football forum. Willy took a hard shot to the head and it was enough that the medical pros felt it necessary to hold him out of the game. What do you have to lose by holding him our for a week? A football game. What does he have to lose by throwing him back in too early? His mental health, quality of life, and a myriad of other concerns related to concussions. This is why I would err on the side of caution. The risk-reward just doesn't make sense. Again, not saying he has a concussion and not saying the team is being irresponsible. But if it was me in charge, it would be no play for 2 weeks after the last symptom or, if there were no symptoms, the initial hit. No exceptions.

Apparently Brohm still got more reps despite going on the field third. I don't think we will see a definitive change in the order of the backups... Not yet at least.

Does the New Convert Rule Improve the CFL?
If you are going to remove the kick for a convert then I would suggest removing it entirely and have the pass/run convert from the 5 be worth only a single point. No reason for it to be worth 2 if there is no single point option. However I enjoy the strategic aspect of choosing to go for one or go for two. The problem is that it wasn't much of a decision anymore so we rarely saw teams go for 2. Now the decision is tougher, generating more discussion and ultimately becoming a far more meaningful part of the game than it ever was before.

New rules are definitely contributing to lousy defence throughout the league
The problem is that it wasn't good defence. It was defensive backs mugging the receivers in man coverage. That's not skill and its certainly not entertaining. Skill is being able to stay in coverage without doing that.

I don't really like it if they are rushing him back. I mean, even symptom free... Err on the side of caution. Sit him for a week or two. But that's just me, obviously not a doctor. I just think, play it safe when it comes to head and neck injuries.

CFL Week 2 Other Games - CGY at MTL / BC at OTT / TOR at SSK
Calling it the new normal might be a bit of a stretch. 4 out of 16 teams have gone over 450 so far this season (Riders twice, Bombers and Argos once). Another 4 failed to even hit 300 yards total offence in their games. The other 8 all fell between 300-450.

Does the New Convert Rule Improve the CFL?
Love it. The convert actually means something now, and we are already seeing more two point attempts. Great addition to the game.

It's better this way.

Oh well Arceneaux didn't get a TD either so I guess it's a moo point.

Lock of the Week 2 (**UPDATED RESULTS**)
Yo Jeff Fuller was a last minute scratch, can I change mine to a player from a later game? If that is allowed, I would like to change mine to Emmanuel Arceneaux.

Frolik Conundrum
It's because every team gets injuries. Winnipeg was 15th in man games lost to injury. As average as it gets.

[MERGED] BOMBERS ADD POSEY AND DAVIS TO PRACTICE ROSTER
That's nothing. Why would you want to give a team their potential starting QB for the rest of the season for such a low price? If we're going to give away our QB depth, it better be for a kings ransom. 2 first round picks or a first and two seconds. That's the starting point and it only goes up from there.

U.S. Supreme Court rules in favor of same-sex marriage nationwide
I hoped you'd be able to see the point but clearly it was lost on you. There is no comparison happening. The point is that you can't use the silly argument that you did to say God doesn't exist or doesn't want people to be gay or whatever ridiculous point you were trying to prove.

Nobody gets contracts in Winnipeg, nope! **** em all, we'll play a lineup of rookies!

2015 NHL Draft And Trade Rumours
Austen Brassard and Aaron Harstad are both still in the system as far as I know, they finished the season with the IceCaps. Brennan Serville is still playing in the NCAA. Jason Kasdorf went to Buffalo in the Kane trade. We don't own the rights to Yuen anymore.
