Came in last year around game 5 when the Bombers started to turn things around. Got a big interception in that game. Otherwise was pretty quiet for the rest of the year but held onto the job. Reliable field-side corner. Average size, good speed, good tackler. Got beat up a bit in the western semi and had a really rough game for the Bombers in pre-season and I'm pretty sure that's what sealed the deal on his release.

I've never seen a team miss the playoffs at 16-2 so no, this is not a must-win game. Must-win starts when we hit loss number 10 and no sooner.

Not sure many people outside of Winnipeg would agree with you re: Trouba better than all those guys.

Even with the Winnipeg premium I can't see Trouba getting more than 6.5 M. Of course that depends on how he plays this year. He won't be extending before the end of his current deal, IMO.

Is the lack of harvesting the problem, or is the inappropriate use of illegal immigrants as a low-cost workforce the problem? Are you in favour of exploiting illegal immigrants by paying them lower than minimum wage? That doesn't seem right.

That article is all about whether he threw the grenade or not. But that's only one part of the issue, although it does seem to get the most focus. Whether he threw it or not, he abandoned Canada and joined a terrorist organization and almost certainly participated in activities such as bomb-building and assisting the terrorist organization in other ways. I think that's what more people are upset about. The fact that he was a terrorist and he has now received an apology and large cash settlement from the taxpayer in a shady backroom deal. Now, it is obviously more nuanced than that, since he was young and impressionable and you may even argue brainwashed. But you still can't expect that situation to sit well with most people.

That weak-side half spot tends to get the most action... I'd be really reluctant to put a rookie there, especially one that's already been lit up pretty bad. Derek Taylor had a great tweet about the Bombers having that weak-side locked down. So that's one positive at least.

True. But I mean, I've also watched all the games, in many cases multiple times, and I'm pretty confident in saying that Wild is a top-tier linebacker in the CFL. Citing tackle numbers is just a lot easier than going through and pointing at every play he has or has not made. In the end it's just an opinion either way.
