  1. No way. Just let Flanders do it. Better yet, put Harris in the Dressler role and Flanders as the RB. That package would be deadly.
  2. But not by Shawn Lemon. That's the kind of stuff you can say when you win and a guy who has been trash talking you gets shut down.
  3. Depends on the player, doesn't it? We've all heard of star players getting coaches fired. As for respect for authority... I don't give out respect based on an org chart. If someone hires me to do a job, I do it in the way we agreed upon within the parameters I was given when hired. For a coach, that means the authority to pick who plays and who doesn't. The rules don't change halfway through because the boss is unhappy. And if I was ever given the "my way or the highway" ultimatum.... I'm walking out the door.
  4. I'm pretty sure before game 1, O'Shea said Bruce Johnson might be ready to play. And here we are six weeks later. At this point I don't think we can read anything into any "injury report" coming out of the Bombers.
  5. Right which is why it's so strange to hear they are talking long-term. Maybe it doesn't happen though. Totally. But if the number was $8 mil would you do that? Because I don't think Eichel would take 6.
  6. Well, I think the Sabres are looking at it like a Scheifele situation. Where you sign a guy long-term before he has proven himself. But that would be incumbent upon the Eichel camp accepting such a deal. And I don't know why they would.
  7. He was 11-7 last year and 3-2 so far this year. Overall yes a losing record in his time here but so far a year and a half of winning records so maybe time to re-think that statement. No, it's not a good question. He was given rope because management thought things were headed in the right direction. They were correct. The team has been winning for a year now. What truth??? Nothing you are saying resembles the truth. 11-7 is a pretty good record! I gotta say, if we finish 11-7 again I'll be pretty happy. Hopefully with a playoff win this time. That's exactly what a Sask fan would say!!
  8. The hive-mind has spoken
  9. I just have a hard time believing that a guy who has "been a season ticket holder for 60 years" would tolerate guys like Burke, Kelly, and Reinbold... but O'Shea, with our best record in 14 years, is the tipping point. I just don't understand that line of thinking. If it's not about wins then what are you a fan of, really?
  10. Jack Eichel is looking for an 8-year deal with the Sabres. That's an interesting case. He is only 20 so that is usually bridge deal territory. His numbers have been good, but not groin-grabbingly good. How do you balance the team wanting a reasonable deal, with the agent and player almost certainly wanting top-5 centre money on an 8 year deal? Eichel will probably be a point-per-game guy but it's not guaranteed and he hasn't been that yet...
  11. Toronto will have the home crowd on their side...
  12. Poor Richards. There is always Saskatchewan.
  13. I wouldn't do that so I'm not sure how to answer. If my boss convinces me that a certain direction is correct, then it's still my decision to go through with it. If he hasn't convinced me it's correct, I wouldn't do it.
  14. Ultimately it's up to the head coach to make that change in-game. There may have been pressure but the final decision was no one's but O'Shea.
  15. Good, go cheer for the Riders. Fake fan!
  16. Sure looks like Flanders plays. Pretty excited for that. The receiving corps has a lot to prove but I know all 5 of those guys are very capable. I think we've just scratched the surface of what TJ Thorpe can do.
  17. Hard to say. I'm not sure how much opportunity he really got in Edmonton but you'd think being a first-round pick he'd be given every chance to succeed. Instead, from 2014-2016 he never cracked 220 yards in a season ending with only 83 yards in 2016.
  18. Saskatchewan.... where first-round busts go to finish their careers...
  19. LOL that's so ridiculous
  20. There's an awful lot of talk about games being slowed down but for some reason they still seem to fit in the same 3-hour timeslot they always did.
  21. You know a team is in trouble when...
  22. I can't emphasize enough that the CFL has taken an officiating problem, and placed it on the laps of the coaches. "Our problem?? No, no.... it's the coaches' fault."
  23. I don't know. Just wait. When a team has a blatant missed catch and has to challenge to get it right, and then it happens AGAIN in a critical moment but the coaches can't challenge because they already used it on a legitimately bad call. I think that will make fans even more upset than what we've seen so far.
  24. Remove challenges on illegal contact, but allow them for PI. If the rule cannot be enforced consistently, then it is not a well-defined rule and certainly not challengeable.
