So what's all this about Argos D trying to pound Pierce and take foot off the gas when he leaves the game ?
Jones has always been a ***** so it's not surprising they'd just try and hammer Pierce, if you take him out in the preseason there's one less team to worry about.
Also why the bombers SHOULD have moved on from him in the offseason. Can't rely on a guy that is marked.

I guess maybe it's hard to see this through a "casual fan" 's eyes...
yeah that's really all it is. Casual fans don't care enough to go midweek to see a bunch of future cuts play. Plus I think living two provinces away skews our perception of things too. getting to see the team for us is rare and every chance is deemed special.

preseason against the argos... can't really expect big interest in a team that no one cares about. I think given how last season went as well it'll take some time to really build up the support for the bombers. No one knows who any of these qbs are except for bandaid boy buck. I just get a big sense of apathy in regards to the team right now.

Yep, I know. I want to read what other journalists covering the different CFL teams have to say about their teams. I'd like to know who the bright rookies may be, how the vets are doing, etc.. Just get the lay of the land... I have no clue the way other teams are looking, what they are doing, the injury situation around the CFL, etc. So I'll hold off for awhile.
agreed, need to wait until after the preseason games to really get a better feel for what other teams are going to look like. See if there's been any new faces unearthed at positions of need for a bunch of teams etc. Or you know, if for example Ricky Ray breaks his leg in a preseason game that changes the argos outlook just a tiny bit....

definitely a bad idea but nowhere near as stupid as driving drunk.
This attitude right here... I hate that attitude. There's enough accidents out their caused by completely sober people and enough terrible drivers to start with that driving under the influence of anything is completely and utterly stupid. There's no degrees of stupidity here, it's just all flat out stupid.

Actually several studies have shown that it has a negative impact on your driving but thanks for playing.
yeah those statements are no different than those people who insist that "I'm a better driver when i've had a couple of drinks because I pay more attention"
The reason there's less laws regarding driving while high is like I said above, there's no good way of measuring the amount of stuff in your system roadside like there is with a breathalizer so anyone wanting to argue it in court will get it over turned because there won't be enough evidence to say whether they were impaired or not.

I happened to check out OB last night and saw people claiming that we are over-modding and shutting down threads over here.
Only real modding I've done is to shut down bashing of OB.
I am not one who likes to see even stuff like that modded, but honestly, one of the best things about this place so far I think is that you all do a good job of not over modding. People are allowed to say what they will for the most part, just the excessive piling on seems to be kept under control and that's a fair way of dealing with things.

But wouldn't it be safe to assume he was NOT high (at least legally speaking) ? If he was, and the police thought he was, I'd imagine he would have gotten a DUI type charge as well.
The reason you don't see DUI charges for pot is because there isn't a good way to measure the levels of the stuff in your system roadside like you can with alcohol so you can't ever get a conviction.

Not sure a seismometer would pick up sounds from game day. I'm no physicist here, but I'm guessing that sound would take the path of least resistance and travel above ground - not to such a depth and at such a vibrating frequency that it would register on any seismemeter - even one a par five away. But who knows - if it did register - that'd be pretty cool too.
get it loud enough you would notice vibrations in the ground, not a lot obviously but there would be something if your equipment was sensitive enough.

I got to admit I was sitting in the same section as Bluto at the Grey Cup I wish I could I have as much fun as the 20 loyal Argo fans had at that game.
Hey our turn is coming sooner or later, think how sweet it will be when it's the bombers winning again.

Absolutely, I'm not saying they didn't earn their victory, I'm just trying to temper the rampant argo homerism coming from our resident argo fan. Got a few wins when it mattered but they weren't the dominating wins that Bluto pretends they were, the Argos were just one of a bunch of mediocre teams in the CFL last year, they just won the games that mattered most.

It's no secret that teams know that Pierce gets hurt a lot and if you knock him out you up your chances of winning. Yeah every qb is marked to an extent, but teams are willing to go farther with known injury cases. Especially teams with a DC like Jones.
