  1. Of course it matters, a big part of the teams problems then were a president and GM on different pages, Miller and Walters and O'Shea are all very much on the same page right now which is why they won't fire O'Shea if he is consistently in the playoffs.
  2. I always found the best way to go to Houstons was so drunk you didn't even know what music was being played... but I dunno that was a long time ago
  3. .500 in the CFL guarantees you a playoff spot so as long as you remain about that it's all good.
  4. So your entire point is a rookie DB who is only playing because of injuries, a backup OL who I don't think has seen the field at all this year and a canadian who is only starting because an american rookie came in and stole a spot that was ear marked for canadians and caused a ratio change? Keep on reaching man, keep on reaching. The team is 2-2 with losses to teams that were widely expected to be among the top teams in the league, things are not nearly so dire as you make them seem.
  5. Yeah all those yards and touchdowns he put up, and leading his team to victory, you sure showed them. God what a moron.
  6. Well it's basically the exact same premise as this thread:
  7. I think it's more about learning more so that they can help people who did or do play football so that they don't just retire and have to fend for themselves.
  8. Well thankfully the GM and team president are both on the same page with regards to the coach, Wade Miller is not likely to pull a Bauer and fire MOS to put in an old crony.
  9. Yeah Messam without a doubt, Hamilton is sofa king bad.
  10. Does this exact same thread not already exist?
  11. So I am generally not a huge fan of a lot of the Belgian style beers, but after spending a few days in Belgium recently I can safely say that if you ever feel like you don't have enough choices in beer go there because there seems to be roughly a million breweries in that country. Not speaking the language made picking an even more daring adventure but I managed to get a few solid ones. Just don't ask me to remember what they were.
  12. This is pretty much it. Hall isn't my ideal choice for a DC but he is good enough, it's really just Lapolice that is a major problem and it's as you say, his ability to call a game rather than anything else. Guy is very prone to over thinking things and often outsmarts himself. He is also very passive when sometimes you gotta go for the throat. I would have hoped he'd have learned that but it appears that he really hasn't.
  13. I believe you mean a good third quarter, cause the 4th quarter was the Stamps kicking your asses again too. Don't try and make it sound any better than it really was. Riders were fortunate that the score wasn't more lopsided to be perfectly honest.
  14. The team is further ahead of where they were last year at this same point in the season so why all the doom and gloom? The secondary is going to get healthier, the linebackers are going to get healthier, why all the hand wringing over a loss to BC and Calgary? Oh right, cause some people just like to get caught up in the negativity.
  15. and as if Noeller gets the reputation as Mr. Sunshine. Guy gets as negative as anyone, difference is he doesn't get caught up in the knee jerk reactions like some people do.
  16. This is simply a case of fans wanting players and coaches and managers to be as angry as they are. I mean they want guys like Chris Jones and Mike Kelly who will happily throw players under the bus because it makes them feel vindicated as fans for being upset. They absolutely hate it when coaches are in control because they themselves can't control themselves.
  17. The D gave up too much as well but the biggest problem is the offense going MIA for half a game. Gotta give the D a break every now and then. I trust Hall to make in game adjustments and we saw that towards the end when they did make stops they needed to.
  18. Hey I was against Lapo from the get go, I really wanted Khari Jones, and looking at the BC offense it's pretty explosive. But they went with the "safe" choice which was Lapolice. Now we just hope someone decides they want to hire him as a head coach.
  19. it's definitely the result of not running enough, because let's be honest, the interior guys on our offensive line are massive and they have a bit of a surly attitude, yeah they might not get big holes all the time, but you keep letting them beat up on the defensive line and eventually they are going to wear them down. Lapo doesn't like to put that investment in though, he's always been a big fan of trying to outsmart everyone.
  20. I think Lapo is a smart man who understands the game quite well, I just think he's got a loser mentality and that's what holds him back.
  21. It seems to me that our offense either throws short passes or deep passes, I don't think we ever really challenge those intermediate routes that so many other teams have success with. It's either up to Dressler or Harris to make some tacklers miss on the short throws or Adams to come down with a deep ball along the sidelines.
  22. I mean is it any wonder that this offense looks the best when they're down in a game trying to come back? They have the ability to be a good offense, just too often (ie. to start the game and trying to close out a game when they have a lead) they play passively and don't accomplish anything. That's Lapolice. Remember when he was the head coach here? We always lost close games because he was afraid of taking the chances required to win games. The only time I ever liked a Lapolice offense here was when it was Khari Jones tossing bombs to Stegall and Bruce down field or putting the ball in the hands of Charles Roberts or Mike Sellers, but even I could run a successful offence when the game plan is give it to Milt and Charlie.
  23. Yeah but they've recruited a lot of successful DBs here so holding Carmichael against them isn't exactly fair, considering he's not the only rookie starting in the secondary right now and we are also missing 2 of our usual linebackers. The back end on D is patchwork right now, is it any wonder they're hit and miss? I would focus my recruiting talk much more on places like receiver because this group hasn't really dug up anyone spectacular there, though I did like the bit we saw from Thorpe against BC so maybe there is some hope there.
  24. Hell I said that Nichols was struggling with the deep throws earlier on in the year, nice to see everyone else is seeing it now too.
  25. Nichols ain't blameless but we've seen this exact same song and dance from Lapolice before, in fact this very team has fired him twice already for the exact same reasons. Paul Lapolice, good enough to barely lose.
