  1. So you recognise that the problem starts higher up and is more widespread yet spend all your time here on a witch hunt for O'Shea and Willy anyway? Come off it. You just love to pin the blame on the easiest target (the coach and the qb) but we could change them out tomorrow and the team would have the exact same problems because it's the GM that built this crap fest. Save your energy and don't pile on guys who are just trying to make the best of what they were given.
  2. but what about the D getting absolutely abused in the first half? They were awful from the get go.
  3. If they were easily replaced then why hasn't Walters replaced them in the 3 years he's been here? If they're easily replaced why is there no depth anywhere on this team? A team that gets as crippled by injuries as this one does isn't going to win no matter who you have at qb. Khari Jones had the same thing happen to him, when the depth sucked and injuries hit the team looked useless all of a sudden. Same with Kevin Glenn. You need good pieces around a qb to be successful. It's simplistic and incompletely analysis to just say "oh the qb is the big problem" or "the coach is the big problem" We have a GM that can't build depth, can't add to talent and is at best treading water with his moves. It doesn't matter what Willy makes, it flat out doesn't. This roster isn't good enough to win and pretending that it is with a coaching change or a qb change is just playing silly buggers.
  4. The interception was really the only mistake Willy made and BLM made a mistake too and threw an interception, that sort of thing happens to every qb. Problems on this team go way deeper than the qb and we saw the exact same things with Nichols that we saw with Willy. Not good enough OL or receivers or game plan.
  5. The offense looked exactly the same when Nichols went in. Receivers dropping passes, OL missing blocks and getting the qb cranked. needing 3 downs to get first downs, needing a big kick return to set up field position to be close enough to the endzone to score. Why is everyone always on the qb and the coach when clearly this team isn't talented enough? We have some good pieces on this team, but not enough of them and not enough depth behind them.
  6. Still blows me away that people are on the coaches or the qb when clearly the problem is the guy building the team. All those free agent receivers and it's just shuffling the deck chairs because we are still using Darvin Adams like he is a #2 when the reality is he is a replaceable #4 that every team has a couple of (except us, after 3 years Walters finally found a rookie who might be better than him). He needs to go and unfortunately he's going to take Mike O'Shea down with him. That's the biggest shame of it all. It is absolutely sickening to see back to back first down plays in a series lose yards on a straight forward hand off up the middle. That's guys getting their asses kicked. It is sickening to see the qb hit a receiver in the chest with a pass and then the ball hit the ground. This team needs someone who can actually build a team and not just play fantasy football on free agent day.
  7. Better than Posey but that's a low bar. Let's be honest though, when you lose your only solid defensive back in Randle it's going to be a gong show in the secondary and it was. After the refs ignored the offside on third and short and the Stamps scored that was the game. They were not coming back with the secondary they were using because they flat out did not have the horses back there to stop the Stamps the amount of times it would be required for the offense to outscore the hole.
  8. I would suspect that if there was any threat of selling out the game or even coming close to it they'd sell every ticket they could but in the mean time they probably do want to keep some seats to try and entice season ticket holders to come in part way through the season.
  9. That stat is deliberately misleading. Since scoring more than 30 points (last one I see is game 3 2014) However they have hit 30 points a few times since then and been a couple points away from 30 even more so while it's still not a great stat, I think more than 30 is chosen simply to make it look spectacularly bad. Really is there that great a difference between an offense scoring 30 points vs 31 points? or even 28 points and 31 points? Obviously some wins and losses but still, I think that stat is just headline seeking. The problems are there to see with or without an arbitrary cut off like that.
  10. Lyle Bauer wanted to do a solid for his buddy Mike Kelly who was sure to send the Bombers on to glory... except it dug a hole so deep we're still trying to get out of it.
  11. I suspect that they are just too dumb on the inside. Lots of problems knowing who to pick up. Perhaps it's a simple as Goosen not being cagey enough to call the blocking correctly? They do show flashes of being capable, but when assignments are missed the inconsistency leads to bad things, especially with a qb who has PTSD about getting hit.
  12. Of course he did, his whole schtick on these websites is a witch hunt. Only ever talks about running someone out of town.
  13. Honestly why don't we address the real problem here... the general manager. Dave Ritchie was hired to be GM and the team was good. It failed when Bauer started picking people like Daley and Kelly to be head coaches. Taman had his warts but Berry was at least an avearge coach who got average results, Mack hired bad coaches we all know that because Lapo and Burke were both terrible, Walters has a terrible record all around as a GM except when it comes to winning free agency day. So why don't we stop wasting time bickering about Mike O'Shea and start pointing the finger where it belongs... at Kyle Walters.
  14. If you fire people in the offseason all those players you sent a poor message to are gone anyway because they aren't good enough. We've tried this firing the coach thing before thinking that it would have a big impact, but since Ritchie was fired the best this team has accomplished is 2 seasons of better than .500. Firing coaches clearly isn't the answer.
  15. Glen Johnson = blind leading the blind. well the refs are so bad they are getting less than half of the calls correct on the field, but it's great news that replay is catching their mistakes for all to see! The replay system has been getting worse and worse for actually being entertained by games yet they keep expanding it and making it worse and they say "be patient, it's worth it" **** off and make the refs do their jobs on the field instead of taking the easy way out and relying on time wasting replays to do it.
  16. You don't think they already understand that losing has consequences? Poor performance always costs people jobs now and more importantly in the future. They all know that. Also, those former HCs were both fired for being terrible head coaches, how is that going to make things better?
  17. Hardly, we've been a pretty terrible team the last 10 years, seems to tell me that I'm 100% correct about it being a bad idea to fire people midseason right? If players need a coach being fired to perform well then that's even more of a reason not to fire the coach because you can't fire the coach every time a player needs a kick in the ass. How about we get some players that don't need that kind of motivation in the first place? There is nothing wrong with this team that a better GM can't fix and if you are firing MOS midseason you're basically committing to Walters for more time as well. If we're going to make changes then let's blow the whole ******* thing up in the offseason not try and do a half assed patch job that turns into a long term problem AGAIN.
  18. Bass actually played pretty good against Edmonton so I think he's coming along.
  19. It's clearly confidence. As in he's taken so many hits he doesn't trust his offensive line to give him time so even when he does have time he rushes his throw. So you either throw the guy on the scrap heap (like many want to do) and see him go somewhere else that isn't lacking skill at other positions and rebound then it's "well why did they get rid of him?" or you do what you can to rehab that fragile confidence.
  20. but you're not going to sell hope by firing a coach. Is anyone going to go to more games just because they fire the coach? It's wins and losses and how good a team looks in games that sell tickets. None of that is going to change simply by firing a coach. I've been banging this drum for more than 10 years but firing a coach midseason only wastes 2 seasons. The current one and the next one.
  21. Do you really honestly think that a midseason firing would get more out of this team? Would be the same coordinators (minuss special teams coordinator of course) It's the same players, what's really going to change? You might see the dead cat bounce but then the GM can just pat himself on the back and go "see I knew my players were fine, I just had the wrong coach, problem solved, here you go Lapo, be the head coach of this team again" How does that help us next season? If the season is going to be a write off already why not just wait until the appropriate time to fire people? Would be the first time in a long time they actually did that.
  22. That's because all the stamps had to do was hand the ball off and the Bombers would whiff on tackles and let them move the chains. The D was on it's heels the whole game so it makes it easier on the offensive line.
  23. Everyone picked Williams last week and completely jinxed him and nearly ****** up my fantaseh team in the process so for the love of god will you all please stop putting the jinx on him this week? As for my pick, betting against the Bombers and going with Messam. Still shell shocked watching them fail to tackle him in Calgary.
  24. team is still going to lose games with a different coach which is the real reason fans lose interest. The #1 reason I don't want to see a midseason firing is I don't want them to have the easy way out of just sticking with whichever interim guy they hire. Hall and Lapo are both too passive for my liking as head coaches.
  25. It's almost like Walters was the top NI scout when Mack was here.... imagine that.
