  1. Man considering that Nichols has a lengthy injury history, and serious injuries to boot do we really want to bank on the guy staying healthy? Unless there's some kind of huge cap crunch you keep your depth at the position because we've seen what happens without depth at qb far too often in this city.
  2. Yeah on paper the REDBLACKS!!!11!!! should win but this is the CFL, paper doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot so we shall see what happens.
  3. There's an old adage, things are never as bad as they seem at the worst times and they're never as good as they seem at the best times. It was a great win, no one is going to deny that, but we've seen this team take it's foot off the gas before when they get a lead and it is a tendency that could cause trouble in the future when you don't have a 34 point lead. We saw it in the first game against Hamilton, we saw it against Edmonton as well.
  4. Perhaps this is the first year he has really felt like he's had the depth to do that....
  5. Going deep isn't the be all and end all of aggressive play calling. To me aggressive is more about taking risks and the Bombers did not do that at all in the 2nd half, but you expect that when you're up that big. trouble is the Bombers do that if they're up by only a little too.
  6. Also the offense in the 2nd half last night looked identical to when Willy was there, the common denominator of course is that it was 2 americans on the OL rather than 3. Why is it so hard for people to understand that it's never just one thing, it's all connected. Willy takes hits for years and gets injured and then faces more pressure and the run game doesn't work and his confidence goes out the window. New qb comes in with better OL and a better run game and takes less hits and looks better as a result. Willy is going to play again this year, whether it is a result of Nichols getting hurt or him struggling at some point it's going to happen, I suspect we will see a different Willy after that break.
  7. Honestly I think that was a case of a player just trying to show his team that he still cares and they should still be fighting. The guy who was a real dink was the backup quarterback who scored the touchdown. OK buddy go dance away when you're on the wrong end of an ass kicking. At least what Fantuz did came off as frustration rather than self satisfaction.
  8. ahh we saw plenty of the hand offs or short passes on 2nd and long that are a hallmark of the passive Lapo offense. It's one thing to shut it down when you're up 34, but you won't be up 34 every game and I think this team still needs to develop more of a killer instinct. The first win against Hamilton and the win against Edmonton both started out with domination but the final scores were close because of that passive offense. Just had the instances in this game where they got touchdowns early and quickly so they were up big without it being closer than it should have been.
  9. I wasn't paying total attention but it seemed like Thomas was getting a lot of playing time, was Shologan having issues or just a rotation? Seemed like I noticed Thomas more than Shologan at any rate but that may have been selective vision, I was drinking after all.
  10. Yeah but eastern teams have been bitching about being tired on the coast for years too
  11. I think the Cats were done before it even started. When TSN had Fantuz on during the rain delay I think he even brought up how late the game would be starting for a team based in the east, I think that the ti-cats probably had it in their minds that it was going to be hard because it was late and they were tired and it showed. The Bombers came out with more energy and Hamilton just couldn't get any traction.
  12. There are no Willy lovers, only Bomber fans who don't like to run people out of town when they are not the only issue with the team. See defending Willy from all the hate he was getting doesn't make someone not enjoy Bomber wins, everyone enjoyed the hell out of them the last two weeks, but maybe not you because you can't fire O'Shea? I dunno no one is salty at all, just enjoying the wins.
  13. I think McDuffie is more slippery, but Fogg is just a smart returner. He doesn't screw around much, just catch the ball and go upfield. Too many guys always trying to break a big one but the best returners just get yards and if they get through the first wave they often have the space to go a lot further.
  14. Everyone knew Lapo would lock it down and get super passive in the 2nd half, 34 points is a big lead in any game. Would have liked to see them not get so passive though, really go for the throat rather than just be content to hang on, but we all knew what we were getting when Lapo was brought back.
  15. Plus he gassed two passes that should have been pretty routine catches. Yeah The one late catch was good but he didn't really impress otherwise
  16. The int loffler had was a beauty simply for how he just fought for it all the way and took it away from Fantuz
  17. I was in Maui in April as well and I want to go back daily. Why does no one think to invite everyone
  18. I think of all the names you listed Elliott was quite easily the best one here... His problem was he rebelled against the passive coaching and threw some interceptions and he never got any traction with the coaching staff after that.
  19. Or do we throw young qbs into a situation with bad teams and expect them to work miracles and throw them on the scrap heap when they don't? Cause we haven't exactly had great teams here lately.
  20. **** it, can Milt suit up and play? Probably still be the most dangerous receiver in the lineup considering the injuries.
  21. The other thing that is a concern is when a movie goes back for a ton of reshoots to get things right. Reshoots in themselves aren't bad, but reshoots that seemed to be based on the criticism of batman vs. superman tells me that the studio is in panic mode trying to engineer a hit rather than trusting the creative people to get it right.
  22. I always love the olympics too, it's fun watching the sports that aren't seen every day and pretending to be an expert on them. I know there are always questions about the host city and "oh it's going to be a disaster" but I really think that this time it's a lot more valid. Things not being finished like the case in Sochi or China being corrupt and lots of air pollution are one thing, but all the reports of you're putting your health at risk by going in the water are quite another.
  23. Is it possible you are thinking of Davin Bush who played in Saskatchewan and was similarly beaten by Milt for 4 tds in a game.
