TBURGESS got a reaction from Floyd in Lawless: O'Shea & Walters to return in 2016
Lawless has been flogging that (hopefully dead horse) idea since the Banjo bowl. I for one, hope he's wrong, because that's a horrible idea.

TBURGESS got a reaction from Mark F in Game Day Thread - Ott at Wpg
525 yards against and 38 minutes of Ottawa offense tells me that the 'D' didn't have a good game.

MOS was stupid enough to keep Marcel and his garbage offense. Reason enough to let him go, demonstration of a clear lack of judgement.

TBURGESS reacted to Tracker in Fed Up Fan: $5 dollars to get rid of a ticket?
Supporting your beloved team does not automatically mean you applaud bonehead performances by the players, inept coaching or bad decisions by the GM or scouting staff. To me it means calling a spade a spade and continuing to follow and look for the best for the team. If fans do not demand better, we will continue to get what we've been getting since we were spoiled by Cal Murphy and Mike Reilly. Maybe Doug Berry would have fallen into that category as well, but Bauer thought better of it.

TBURGESS reacted to WBBFanWest in Bombers Add/Drop
So some people are thinking that it's a bad thing to bring in people, give them a look, and if they aren't what we're looking for, release them and move on? Personally, I like the approach because at the very least it gives us a jump on TC next year. Hopefully, we'll find some players that we want to invite back next year and we'll avoid ones that we've already seen and found wanting. And who knows we might even find a keeper or two in the meantime.

TBURGESS got a reaction from Tracker in Around the CFL Regular Season Discussion
It's not contrarian to say I'd like to see DD in Winnipeg. We already given O'Shea a chance and he's proven (12-22) that he's not up to the task. I don't know if DD can make the jump to HC, but he's excelled everywhere he's been except the NFL.He's the best off all the young guys wanting to become a HC IMO. If he can't make the jump, then we fire him in a couple of years and try again.
DD is an OC of one of the best offenses in the league even tho they've had to replace most of the O line, half their receivers and have only had Cornish for part of the year. It's pretty much agreed on that we need to fix our offence and DD could bring that to the Bombers.

If Huf gets pushed out, I'd hope we'd back the Brinks truck up to his door and offer him GM/HC. If DD gets pushed out, I'd be happy to ignore the whole rookie aspect and take him as our HC. Yup, I said it.

TBURGESS got a reaction from bb1 in Marcel Bellefeuille - When does he get axed
A lot of you folks want to hang on to O'Shea the way O'Shea hangs on to the guys he likes. No real reason for it. You just like the guy.

TBURGESS got a reaction from DR. CFL in Fire O'Shea
When you start by assuming that Walters is a good GM and that O'Shea's a good HC, you lose the argument IMO. O'Shea shouldn't have hired MB in the first place at the very least he had his opportunity to fire MB last off season. Now you want to give him another year because he couldn't figure out that MB was useless in the first place?
Hall's been a success, but honestly, Etch should never have been hired in the first place and we were one of two teams who was looking for a DC when Hall was fired from Regina, and they were the other team. Hall either signed with us or went out of the CFL.
I don't see the massive turnaround you do. 5 Wins this season is worse than the 7 we got last year. We haven't won back to back games since last July. We look like we're out of the playoffs again this year for the 3rd year in a row or we might sneak in with 5 or 6 wins.
O'Shea's job is to put a winning team on the field and he's failed. It's Walters and Millers jobs to change the way the organization is viewed by others.

Rookie starting QB's don't choose their own coaches. If that actually happened, it's yet another reason to get rid of O'Shea.

I think it should be a group with at least 60% NI's on it no matter if they are good enough or not.

TBURGESS reacted to Tracker in Fire O'Shea
For those who continue to support O'Shea's continued presence as head coach- what has he done exceptionally well to deserve a stay of execution?
Win-loss record? Nope.
Smart choice of underlings? Nope.
Assessment of player talent? Nope.
Roster management? Nope.
Inspiring sideline presence? Nope.
Making changes to player personnel before crisis? Nope.

The idea that folks who can't do the job for 2 years will suddenly get better in year 3 is fatally flawed. It's better to get rid of them when there are good replacements available (In the Off Season), then it is to keep them on. Keeping MB on this season tells me everything I need to know.
The problem isn't firing guys who can't do their jobs every couple of years. It's hiring guys that we don't know if they can do the job n the first place that's the real problem. As soon as we find a good HC, we should keep him as long as possible. In the meantime get rid of the deadwood and try again.

TBURGESS reacted to DR. CFL in Bombers vs RedBlacks (and Jovon's chirp)
Perhaps the guy telling him to do that has a clear understanding of his limitations and is attempting to put him in a situation that he can contribute.

12 wins, 22 loses for MOS and 7-21 in the past 28. Keep him why?

Lining up Pontbriand as a wideout really says it all.
Roster management, scouting and schemes (especially schemes) all bundled into one.
