I don't know why. It's weird to me how everyone bases their impression of the offensive linemen in this league off reputation alone. Guys like Tim O'Neill, Jeff Keeping, Chris Van Zeyl, Justin Sorensen and Marc Parenteau have really stepped their game up and developed themselves into very serviceable players despite a lackluster start to their careers. On the flip side, guys like Dmitri Tsoumpas, Andrew Woodruff and Josh Bourke have seen a pretty decent drop off in play yet they're still treated like gold in the eyes of most fans. I know what you're saying but I'd still take Tsoumpas over anyone on our offensive line. I absolutely would too. But he's certainly not the same Tsoumpas he used to be.

however Durant did also get sacked 8 times... Perhaps you're guilty of remembering the times Durant was able to get away and for Goltz you're more focussed on the times he was caught. But Durant was back to pass a hell of a lot more. Goltz got sacked 7 times on 15 pass attempts, thats horrific. 7 times on 24 dropbacks as opposed to 8 times on 42 dropbacks. Just for accuracy's sake.

It's all awareness. From what I've seen, the things Goltz struggles with are the things that you improve with experience.

If nothing else, I look at it this way I would've given a 5th rounder+Woodson for a 3rd rounder. Parenteau coming along with the pick is a bonus with potential to make it a real win for us.

Honestly, Parenteau used to be terrible and I was quite against bringing him in when he was a FA last time, but he really stepped up his game in TO. Immediate improvement at RG for us. He did? So how come he lost his job and hasn't started a game this year? Because Toronto shuffled their ratio and no longer needed to start 4 NI OL plus they moved Van Zeyl inside and he's been a beast there.

Pretty clear objective to me. Take steps to fix the OL now, get the pieces ready for a QB to come in during the offseason.

Buck was NOT good in 2011. He put up a couple of good games, but his body of work as a whole was poor. So glad Pierce is gone.

He needs to pull the trigger on a deal to bring a QB in. And make progress on fixing the OL.

I'm not ragging on Buck for any of that. I'm ragging on him because despite all of that, he was still a shitty QB.

And some of those Rider fans will also say their offense and play calling sucked while begrudgingly giving the Bombers D some credit. Go on Riderfans & see what they are saying. Very little credit to us. That's not what I've been reading at all.

I specifically remember two beautiful plays in coverage that Suber made to break up completions. Normally if you don't notice a DB, it's a good thing but those two plays stood out to me for sure.

Why should I be disappointed to see Buck go? He'll still live here in the offseason, he's a homeowner with a Winnipeg business and a Winnipeg girlfriend. All the good stuff he brings to Winnipeg will still be here. And now he's gone from our football team. That's a win-win in my books.
