We don't start a Canadian RB and there's no plans to do so for the Bombers, so I think you gotta go best WR before taking an RB at 11. Don't need to start a Canadian RB in my opinion - he essentially gives you the ability to do three things - have your thunder / lightning backfield combo without burning a designated import spot, if you so choose - have a competent backup as opposed to a Carl Volny type if you're going to go with one feature back - give you the ability to play a full complement of import receivers in certain sets (you could get Stoudermire in on offense, etc) On top of all of that, he has starting RB potential. You could land yourself a legitimate ratio buster.

Connor had more hits than any of the other LBs in the draft class. Led Can-West in tackles as a JR and SR. Made a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage and defended against the pass well. Last year 9 LBs were selected and expect more of the same this year. I had Connor as my #7 LB before the Jay Langa positive test at the Combine. Out of curiosity, are Ackie and Omara in those previous 6? Or did you designate them DB/DL?

One player I'm really interested to see come off the board - Shaq Lawrence If he's there at 11 and Demski is gone, I wouldn't be upset in the least if Walters took him

That 11/15 would be a disaster for us. Abankwah off the board before Harty? Taking Mrarube over Waud because of a pending mini camp? I'd give the Bombers a big F for that draft.

Rookie Waud and Thomas on their own - not enough to move the ratio. Add Westerman? Now drafting Waud makes sense for this team. I'd sooner suggest that they will look at an all import secondary. Both of these are good problems to have. Keep coming up with good problems Walters - big thumbs up. I'd prefer Bucknor as a starter over JFG. I do like JFG though. I'll gladly take that problem.

Yeah I can't really hold picking Mulumba against Mack. And either way, the odds are still in our favor that he plays for us eventually. In hindsight, we could have had Edem and likely would have if Walters had his way, but the pick was a gamble either way. Funny year, that draft year.

3 year deal you have to be ****ing kidding me. I thought at max they'd get him to commit for two, but to have three years of control is unbelievable.

I'm sure plenty of people will be scared by the price tag, but the reality is that this guy is going to be consuming a ton of snaps for us as a Canadian starter at an impact position. And has the potential to be very effective at it.

Question for you Where do you think he is more suited to ? NT, 3-techinque DT or on the DE ? Would almost guarantee he's going to be the guy who takes Greg Peach's spot.

Absolutely huge signing. I originally thought the Bombers were going to go after him earlier this offseason. You can learn a lot from who follows who on Twitter. But then all those reports that BC and Toronto were strong after him came out and I figured we were out of luck. This is huge for us.

I think between Hurl and Newman, we'll have a decent amount of production from a Canadian LB spot and to be honest, I don't really care where on the field that is. I'm not expecting it to be in the middle but that's what training camp is for.

I have to admit, I think if the new rules are going to affect anyone in our secondary, it's Washington. Surprise cut ... my money is on Don Unamba or Bruce Johnson.
