Just heard Walters explaining the Morgan pick. They liked him because they viewed him as the only guy in the draft who can compete at both safety and field corner.

Impossible to say. I'm not happy about the Morgan pick either because that's not who I wanted to see, but we can't say "so and so would've been available" - it's pretty obvious that draft boards don't play out anywhere near what the media and fans expect. So while I'm not thrilled with the pick, it can't be called a waste at this point.

WE ALL LOVE TRADES BUT there is no way we trade our #2 which is really the number #1 with Ottawa's specialty pick of Mateas. The chance of that happening is the square root of zero. If you want to dream think about our 2nd or 3rd picks. Great way to encourage the discussion you were looking for. Yelling at people. Lol off to the chat I go!

What would really be interesting is if the Bombers had their pick of Demski or Durant at 11. If Shaq goes in the first round, they just might.

I'm starting to think Murray-Lawrence falls no further than 7. If the Riders are among the favorites, he must be a guy they're considering at 6 because he's not lasting until their next pick that's for sure. If Shaq jumps into the first round, I don't see where Demski lands other than in our lap at 11 unless someone trades up to 10 ahead of us.

We're getting one of Waud, Durant, Demski, Bodanis, Ackie or Murray-Lawrence if we stay at 11 so that should be enough reason to hold there unless the price is too reasonable to move up.

My guess is that if the Bombers won't be willing to move 15, they won't succeed. They won't get away with #11 + 2016 picks.

That's not what Walters said. He said there is one guy they have as the consensus number one player on THEIR board. There's nothing to suggest that means Ottawa has the same guy in mind.

I think Demski is worthy of going in the ten spot but if Ottawa keeps that selection, I see no sense in them using it on him. IMO, they'd be much better served using it on Shaq Lawrence or depth for behind Pruneau. It's questionable that they're even going to start ONE Canadian receiver (they could go 4 OL, Pruneau, Capiciotti and Shologan) and they already have Sinopoli, Carter and MacDonell.

He's ready to be a CFL contributor now but I don't see him as a day 1 starter at all. We don't need him to be. I see him being very much like Coombs - he'd get into certain sets just to get his feet wet. That being said, the OL we would select at number 2 would not be anywhere close to the project Goossen is. Worth pointing out - any of the three targets (Chungh, Mateas or Groulx) are ALL older than Goossen.
