voodoochylde got a reaction from Bigblue204 in Regular Season Bomber News & DiscussionBut that's not really what we're discussing .. it doesn't matter if Flanders is the best direct replacement for Harris (which I'd argue he isn't given that Harris is a NI and we have both LaFrance and Augustine on the roster as well), we're looking to replace Bowman's "production"
-
voodoochylde got a reaction from Albertabomberguy in Regular Season Bomber News & DiscussionThat's not entirely true either .. Demski has lined up in the backfield with some regularity this season.
-
voodoochylde got a reaction from blitzmore in Regular Season Bomber News & DiscussionYet, on a per carry basis, Demski is among the league leaders.

My game day experience was great.
After taking the UP express from the airport to Union Station, it was a mess of construction, google maps, walking in circles, and repeat before I found the TTC link down waterfront to get to the game. It was much easier taking the GO train from the west last year. The way home to the airport was easy. Along the way in I did meet a pair of Rider fans from Victoria BC trying to complete their goal of attending games in each CFL stadium.
Walking to the stadium early, I skipped the Argos tailgate and walked over to the private unofficial tailgated on the siuth side of the stadium. Wearing full Bomber gear, I was apprehensive about walking into someone’s tailgate. I immediately was welcomed by a great bunch of people. 3 minutes later I was part of their crew, being offered food, beer and even their prized “Jungle Juice”. These guys and girls did it right... 55 gallon hitch mounted BBQ drum (painted in double blue) cooking burgers, dogs, sandwiches, ribs, and pizzas.
One of the tailgaters was Paul Palma, a short stay Blue Bomber from the 1984 Grey Cup Championship team.
The game itself was great. The Bomber fans congregated on the west side behind the bench. Plenty of Blue jerseys in the crowd. The game was a near perfect road game to attend (minus the two fumbles). Lots of fist bumps, high fives, and cheers to go around the whole time.
Side note: the Jays did have great suppport all weekend. I was there Friday and Sunday. Two big late inning wins. Hopefully the bats can keep the momentum for the rest of the year.

Granted there are other parts to the deal, but 2 first round picks and a Canadian starter for a QB that hasn't played a down yet is beyond lunacy.

voodoochylde reacted to O2L in Game Day Thread - Bombers @ ArgosO’Shea spoke to the challenge in the post game interview (you can watch it on the Bombers website or in the app). He was trying to challenge illegal contact on the guy covering Dressler (which is why Dressler was so active in the conversation), he forgot that it had been removed. He said he would’ve rather taken the delay of game penalty but he was basically stuck having to challenge, so he challenged PI (Adams was the target, so presumably he was just hoping that they’d watch the review and see the IC on Dressler and call it anyway). He said he just made a mistake, plain and simple. I’m sure he knows IC is no longer challengable, but in the heat of the moment had a brain fart. He’s human.

voodoochylde reacted to Mr Dee in Game Day Thread - Bombers @ ArgosO’Shea knows the rule book as well as any Coach I’ve observed. If there is a question about a certain call during games, O’Shea sends in the tape about those calls and asks for clarification. That is exactly why O’Shea nearly lost it when Jeffcoat was tagged with the highly questionable horse collar penalty in the BC game. He had asked for the correct interpretation, received it, and yet the wrong call was made on that Jeffcoat tackle. That was a costly penalty for the Bombers made worse by the fact that it was a mistake.

voodoochylde reacted to blue85gold in When does the bowman experiment end? (Bowman traded to Montreal)Why? Demski is doing everything that Flanders did last year. We don't need another RB on the roster. If Bowman needs to be replaced, replace him with an actual receiver from the PR. Washington or Thompkins.
I'm not convinced that Bowman needs to go, it's not like he's been dropping balls. We really don't know if he's not getting open without studying the film. Lapo just needs to run some plays for him and Nichols needs to actually hit him instead of running 100 swing passes behind the line of scrimmage for Demski.

voodoochylde got a reaction from BigBlueFanatic in Odds and Sods - Winnipeg Blue Bombers at BC LionsI hear this.
I usually don't get too worked up over losses but I'm still mad. BC is not a good team and we went from doing what we should be doing (rolling up and down the field, dominating a lesser opponent) to completely shitting the bed. Say what you want about the defense not getting off the field but offensively we did nothing for two and a half quarters. 0 points. Some of it was play calling .. some of it was execution .. some of it was just terrible play at the most crucial position.
We are too talented a team to lose like that and that's what pisses me off.

voodoochylde got a reaction from Sard in Odds and Sods - Winnipeg Blue Bombers at BC LionsTo be honest, I'd rather see Peterman or another of our NI receivers in that spot.
I was as well .. and I *LIKE* the instinct here .. to go for it .. that's playing to win and I can appreciate that decision. It was poor execution. When you're down on the one .. with the defense one yard off the ball .. don't get fancy .. get a hat on a hat and move straight ahead.

Also, day 3. Still furious. This one is going to take me a while to get over...
-
For what it is worth, we have a couple of Canucks who could probably give us more, than we are getting from Bowman...financially or otherwise.
-
I have become neutral when it comes to this team - they will not get me a too far up or too far down.

voodoochylde reacted to WBBFanWest in Should Walters, Miller And The Board Of Directors Put Pressure On MOS To Fire Hall? You clearly don't understand the function of a board. They are not experts in the day to day stuff and have no business in "demanding" anything. They deal exclusively with the CEO and only the CEO. At the same time, if the CEO has confidence in the GM (which he does presumably) then he does not interfere. And if the GM has confidence in his HC then he doesn't interfere. So the only guy who will decide on the fate of Hall is O'Shea and O'Shea alone. That's how a professional organization works; everyone does their job and only their job. So by all means, continue to suggest that "the powers that be" need to get involved. They won't, because they all know better than that.

voodoochylde got a reaction from SPuDS in Will Streveler Be Our James Franklin? My bad .. misread that
That said, just went back and checked .. also snagged a couple in the Hamilton game. You have to take receiver usage with a grain of salt .. we had a rookie behind centre and a guy who wasn't projected to be our starter, he's going to spread it around a bit differently than Nichols would. That said, I'm thrilled that no single receiver is dominating targets. Make the offense that much harder to defend.
