This.
Until a player crosses the goal line the play isn't over. I've seen too many instances where a ball pops out (player loses the handle) or gets run down unexpectedly. You have to play it out and if you're on the return team, if you can see your opponent's back, keep your damned hands off him! This whole thing is avoided if the Argo player shows a little discipline.

I don't think they would have overturned it. Does it happen 20 times a game and only get called a few times? Yes. Is it a penalty? Yes. You can't block in the back. It's literally the first thing you are taught when you're 8 years old in full pads for the first time, much like checking from behind in hockey. Even though Miller cut in front of Noel that doesn't mean he can coast through him. It's on him. I'm also not so sure about the "he was gone" argument because he still had one more cut to make from the sideline in and potentially could have been caught.
Personally I don't like those calls. They are so inconsistent on blocking penalties on returns.

Speaking of did you notice ..
Did anyone else happen to notice Hardrick picking Nichols up off the turf after getting rocked last night? It was one of those hits were you could tell Nichols really felt it but #51 was there hauling him off the turf like a rag doll.

Any time Adams has struggled with consistency (drops etc) it's the result of not involving him early. I don't know if he just checks out a bit or what the deal is but it's almost as if he gets 'disinterested' at times when the ball isn't coming his way.

We've been on the wrong side of plenty of bad calls. It's football. Stuff like that is going to happen. Sure, in the moment it's infuriating but at least we can take comfort in the fact that we're not in Saskatchewan. Can't put a price on that!

Too many errors are being made. The CFL has made it virtually impossible now for a game not to have at least 2 or 3 contraversial calls made. They had a chance to fix the PI & incidental contact rules this off season but shockingly chose to sit on their hands & do nothing when it should have been taken care of. They allow challenges now to be fishing expeditions by head coaches as in "The BC Lions are challenging pass interference on their receiver #87 by Alouettes defender #31. We will review the play", Even though the so called interference was on the opposite side of the field where the ball was thrown. IC called by a receiver simply targeting & running into a DB or they're hand fighting. Sorry, the CFL & Glenn Johnson caused this stinking pile of crap & the smell that's gone with it. Fans are being turned off, games are being affected. If Randy Ambrosie doesn't fix this after this season the CFL will be in big trouble if it isn't already. Again, I have absolutely no sympathy for the officials. I hold jeff Orridge responsible for letting Glenn Johnson run wild as Head of Officials as he was clueless as Commissioner. Johnson absolutely has to go as well as coaches challenges, PI & IC rules downfield need to be changed as well as replay reviews closely scrutinized this off season. The game has to be given back to the players & fans. In their effort to "make it right", the CFL has got it all wrong.

If you take out the emotion of the contest and just go by the ruling of the field, we're left with just the kind of result that shouldn't happen. Shouldn't, but does. The call was made in live action, and although it was a very weak call, I'm assuming the official saw a hand push the back of a player, and that player went down....Flag, righteous or not.
But who can challenge that? The C'Mon Centre? On whose authority? Remember, take the contest out of it, and what you have is another error, or a bad call, or more precisely, a weak call. And that happens all the time, in every sport.

How many times did they call an illegal block on the Bombers on Kevin fogg td returns last year, WAYYYY behind the play? Not the first time this has happened, just make a big deal because of the money and it's against the argos.

Loved the effort but I always cringe when I see receivers (especially rookie receivers) cutting back into traffic .. first thought that always goes through my mind is "Please hold onto the damn ball!"

Yes O'Shea always has his coaches' and players' backs in the media but I would wager that he is quite honest with them behind closed doors when he isn't happy with something.

Why would they have overturned Lankford's return (that was pretty clear cut by comparison)?

Have to give props to Alexander for keeping with the play when he was beaten soundly. Sometimes it's not just sound technique but hustle that can save the day in the end.
