I don't understand it. We've seen Buck call great games too, with a varied attack. Brain dead **** to try and re-invent the wheel like that

Game could have gone either way and we lost and  I don't have the feeling that we deserved to win either.  We'll be back next year.
Threepeat would have been pure gravy, but the Bombers sure didn't look like a dynasty today, so it is what it is.

Sheer stupidity lost us the game. How you have your backup quarterback, who has proven for years he doesn’t throw the ball with any skill or ability to read a defence whatsoever when you just took all the momentum with Grant's return is beyond me. That entire fourth quarter should have been Olivera and 5-7 yard passes. The deep opportunities weren't there all night and we kept trying to hammer a square peg into a round hole. Moronic display of coaching and scheming all night.

I think the sequence going with Grant getting the TD, missing the XP, letting the Argos drive for a FG and then that terrible Prukop arm punt was the turning point.
You have this amazing play that should tilt the field against the Argos but you let them chip back into the game.

If there is any silver lining, losing the game in such a manner might keep the team together more for next year. 3 straight and you might see some of the grizzled vets ride off into the sunset. Miserable end to the game might keep them wanting more!

Kicking game needs to be priority next year both ways.  In general Liegghio had a good punting year, even all-star level.  But I don't think you want to be -15 on kickoffs and -10 every punt exchange in the biggest games of the year.  That's basically why we lost.  QB play was awful both ways.
We also needed Oliviera to handle the ball 8-10 more times.

Never in my lifetime (and I'd suppose pretty much all of yours) have we had this matchup in the Grey Cup.
And if you, dear Bomberfan, could go back through your memory of all of your past teams and coaches and then select just one of them to be taking the field this Sunday for All The Marbles, I can't think that many of you would pick any other Bomber squad or Coach that you've ever personally witnessed above this one which you have.
Conversely, we the Argo Faithful, would be stretching the truth if we were to say the same. Indeed, most of us wouldn't have this year's incarnation of the Boatmen in our top 10.

Speaking for myself, I confess great sporting admiration for your current team, its coaches and its accomplishments. Having myself been spoiled by epic teams in the past, I remember well the great feeling it brings to have your spirits buoyed by witnessing a well-oiled machine, firing on all cylinders and sweeping all before them. It is a daunting prospect for any club to come up against such an animal - apologies for mixing metaphors - but as you well know, there's a reason why you don't just declare a winner before the ball gets kicked.
    Any Given Sunday.
This time honored maxim is a cliche for a very good reason: the team that is supposed to win, doesn't always win. Game of inches and such. I go into this matchup once again prepared for the emotional wound which losing The Big Dance can bring... But then, I have made this preparation for each of the last 3 of these games we were in and the outcome wasn't what it ought to have been. We were solid underdogs in all of them. We should have lost each of them. But we once again had our glorious name etched of the Cup because for each of these games we had a gameplan that worked, made fewer (or no) mistakes, and we had that one intangible that others will scoff at, but we, the True Double Blue know from the bottom of our hearts is real:
    The Argo Bounce.
It's a helluva thing, but time and again, year after year, decade after decade, The Argo Bounce has come from out of nowhere and given us Victory and Glory that just frankly and earnestly speaking should never have happened. Fumbles, Tips, Deflections, Slips, Bonehead Errors and yes, Bounces. They should not keep happening, and the younger Bomber supporters with less appreciation for the Storied History of a rival team may deride this as a bullshit thing that isn't real and that random acts of bounce happen for and against every team. Well, yes they do. But the grizzled veterans amongst you look back over the years and in some recessed corner of your memories do in fact recall a stupid amount of random events granting risibly improbable wins for the Toronto Argonaut Football Club. And you wonder, will The Argo Bounce show up? Can the nigh invincible Bombers be denied by The Football Gods showing their favour once again to the Mighty Scullers?
    Likely not.
This is probably the year where The Law of Averages catches up to us. When Lady Luck looks past us because we have just had it so damn good for so damn long. Maybe the Argos show up and have their best Gameplan, best Effort, make no mistakes and do everything right but still fall short because their opposition was just too much for them to overcome. The Blue Bombers should win this game. I can't fathom that you'd find many Argo fans who, if forced to bet everything they own on this game, would take the Argos to win it. If Winnipeg shows up and plays their best, it probably won't matter if Toronto can show up with their best. Winnipeg wins that matchup nine times out of ten... Or... maybe Any Given Sunday and The Argo Bounce happen.

Some of you have known me 20 years or close enough to it. You know that my wish of good luck to you is sincere and it is in the tradition of sporting competition that the better team on the day wins. I witnessed your years in the wilderness and the false dawns that ignited hope in you that never came to be. You are deserving of your time at the top spoke of fortune's wheel because you've known the bottom of it.

    Sincerely & Fraternally,
It's Go Time. I will look for you on the field of honour.

By losing to Hamilton we have now made it a bit harder for Saskatchewan to cross over. That’s the only silver lining I can take from this one. Hopefully this thought can help some of you feel better about today as well.

This game always scares me. There were too many years where we were significantly better than the Riders but still somehow lost (Rocky Butler and Michael Bishop games come to mind) and I'm still suffering PTSD. That said, we seem to have flipped the script in their new toilet bowl stadium and we definitely are a much better team, so I remain cautiously optimistic.

Mostly coaches jumping up and down and pointing to go forward down the field with a great deal of emphasis as opposed to the catch and kneel that they do to take a knee.
Think of the arm motion the fans use with the announcer goes "another first down" lots of that directed at the returner before the kick.

Any incomplete pass is whistled dead...immediately...always...u dont give a 3 count and then blow it just in case.
Everyone and their dog...commentators...and prob everyone watching thought it was an incomplete pass...until first replays were shown ...in slow mo was it realized...but was already whistled dead before an immediate recovery...and the 2 cgy players close botched it and didnt secure it...Grey was standing right over the ball almost and let up...at the whistle...he only reacted a bit when he saw the 2 cgy guys scrambling...so the call...review and result was as per rules...nothing to see here

This is wrong. The players on the field heard the whistle and stopped playing.
We don't know who might have got possession if the whistles were not blown.
The whistles were blown - appropriately in everyone's mind but yours - and nothing should have been done differently after that point.

On field officials are there to make the calls on the field. The CC is there to correct the ones that they miss. The CC can't correct the "I thought it was an incomplete pass when it was a fumble" unless the on field refs don't blow the whistle until the fumble is secured or get rid of the so called clean recovery. The current rule was applied properly, but the wrong team ended up with the ball and got 3 points they didn't deserve.
They were wrong. That's the point. Let me say it again... They were wrong in their call. The wrong team retained the ball. The wrong team got points. The team that should of got the ball was wronged.
The CFL needs to fix this issue. The only two things that can make that happen are: Don't blow the whistle until the fumble is secured OR Give the ball to the right team as long as they make any kind of recovery. Don't blow the whistle is really the only one that makes sense, because the CFL doesn't want players continuing plays after the whistle has sounded. We're not talking about every play, we're talking about fumble/forward pass plays. Maybe one a month over all the games.

They didn't think it was close live though. Incomplete passes they always blow the whistle. They don't wait and see.

If it's close, you don't blow the whistle. Players play to the whistle, so they are in no more danger than they would be in any play. It's ridiculous to say that the extra 2 or 3 seconds put players in danger.

Of the ref thinks the play is dead, they blow the whistle. You never “wait and see”, because then players could get hurt. It’s ridiculous to say they shouldn’t have stopped the play. The call on the field is incomplete pass, you blow the play dead.

The fumble/incomplete pass was called correct...whistled dead on the thought it was incomplete.
Review confirmd it was a fumble...but since no immediate possession it's not a turn over...its black and white...and rule is there as guys quit after whistle and it's also to avoid injury occurring...so not a gift to wpg..or theft from CGY...so that argument holds no weight that it was reason for outcome.
The rtp call tho...did not fit the rules...and result of it cause a 3 point lead become 2 point..and we could of lost on a late fg...

I probably shared this already but my buddy has two girls the same age as Dickenson's kids and they played on the same soccer team in Calgary.  We're talking 10 year old girls here.  And he would show up at games and scream at my buddy's kids and his own kids to run faster and to try harder.  He couldn't dial back the competitive nonsense even at a girls soccer game.  Guy has some serious problems.
