People also need to remember that take what these articles being said if Nichols being upset or collaros being the front runner with a grain of salt. It’s media guys looking for buzz.

Shame, the Bombers or Collaros  do not win a G.C. without the leadership Nichols provided since arriving in 2015.  Colour your world with the shitty end of the stick if that's what you prefer.

It probably would be a negative reaction, so why not this. Have a mandatory 7 Canadian starters but take out the min of 21 Canadians on roster. This way we don’t have to watch guys like Jeff Hecht play

Its not just the younguns. I'm in my 60's and I'd watch the CFL even if they didn't have a ratio. It's the game that matters to me, not the birth certificates or however else they decide a player is 'Canadian'.
'No ratio' doesn't mean what a lot of folks think it does.
It doesn't mean no USports. Lots of folks play sports for the fun of it, not to get a job from it. Most USports players aren't making the CFL anyway.
It doesn't mean no Canadians on teams. 8 or 10 players on each team would still get a job, some as starters others as backups. Just like our best make the NFL, the best would still make it. The rest wouldn't.
It doesn't mean no home town hero's making the team. The marketing advantages alone would make sure that doesn't happen.
It doesn't mean a stronger CFL or the death of the CFL.

It’s like arguing with a kid. It’s not my wish for no canadian qbs to ever play.  And you are really over exaggerating. Coach’s will put in the player that gives them the best shot to win. I mean Canadians play in the nfl right? And I would think those coach’s are more biased then the coach’s in the cfl. If the goal of the cfl is to grow internationally, and nationally then I don’t believe this mandatory Canadians is going to work. The younger generation doesn’t care where the player is from, they want the best player available playing that will give them the most excitement. That player can be American canadian, global. You can’t say taking the minimum number of Canadians out will ruin football in Canada, because you don’t get to speak for the hundreds of thousands of kids and what motivates them.

So I’m anti Canadian qb bcuz I want the best of the best playing regardless if they are American Canadian global? And ya they should get developed, but that starts with better university programs.

True but I’m willing to bet he takes a practice roster spot and works his way on to it. With his talent I don’t think we see him in the cfl again

That’s a good point.  And Skywalker seems connected to TFA but not at all connected to TLJ.  You almost don’t need to see it.   Even then it doesn’t really feel in the same narrative universe as the first two trilogies.  But again I blame that on TLJ.

So I’m a big Star Wars fan, but not 100% sure if I wanna see this one because the last Jedi may have ruined my love for it. Yes I think it was that bad. Is the new one worth seeing?

To fix the Canadian ratio and keeping an all American dline, all that needs to be done is find a Starting Canadian safety. Then we don’t have to talk about stupid things like replacing Wilson.

The AVERAGE skill in import players is actually probably relatively close.  Average TEAM skill will have a greater disparity due to the fact that, on average, NATL players in the CFL are less skilled (because they are being chosen from a smaller talent pool).
Finally, the area IMO where the skill disparity is the MOST SIGNIFICANT is in the "Elite" players.  The fact is that the Hall of Fame quality NFL players are fairly significantly more skilled than equivalent Hall of Fame quality CFL players. There are some exceptions, of course, where an athlete who would have been a hall of famer NFL player ends up in the CFL due to politics and never heads south... but I'd say that's the exception rather than the rule.

I would also argue that the CFL probably has an edge in player skill for "unusually dimensioned" athletes (i.e. short middle linebackers) due to the fact that the CFL is less political in giving guys with good college histories who don't match up well with NFL expectations a shot.

I’m really Intrigued by ArDarius Stewart, big strong body, played at bama and reason he is out of the nfl is due to discipline and drug problem I believe. Kind of reminds me of a duke Williams

of the 3 guys available...excluding Masoli whomever we land we will be fine with Strev...and even with say just Strev...playing him as a QB first if he is our only option with McGuire behind him..we still have a good year and get in play-offs...I'm not worried one bit on the offensive side of the ball

I’m hoping you remember 2008 when we walked away from our veteran qb to go with the young guy right? I’d rather not go back into the years of having unproven qbs but that’s just me.

While you make some good points, you can’t compare his stats from a FCS college team to his current situation. If we start doing that, then we should take a look at Brian Brohm again. (Settle down its a joke). But by looking at his college stats, he is the second best qb to come out if Louisville, second to Lamar Jackson. Now this doesn’t mean I think we should give up on strev right now. I do think they should re-sign him. But we have to be real, how long do we hold onto the guy? If he can’t show any improvement on throwing, or show to be a starting qb, the team is doing more damage to itself in the long run.

100%! People go blind when talking about strev because he’s cool and parties and has the hearts of the fans. This tends to lead to them over looking that he isn’t starting material yet.
