Making the playoffs isn't that hard. Winning in the playoffs is and that has been the problem.

To trade a warm body &/or a draft pick for Colaros would be an insanely stupid move for all the obvious reasons. He may only last a single play like he did this season with the Riders. The risk is too high.

I'd take Franklin for a late late round draft pick. I'd only want him as a warm body in case of emergency. ZC is a useless move, the guy is one hit away from being completely scrambled. MBT while insane at least is healthy and at times can move the ball.

The challenge is not only having a good starting QB...it is also supplying your coaching staff depth across the roster and especially depth at QB.....and if you haven’t Got it you better figure out how to get it. That is the difference between being proactive and reactive. Did Sask and Hamilton just luck out st QB depth...maybe but the fact is they had it.

I completely disagree. I doubt he lost his touch in finding talent. The common denominator is the QB. I don’t care how good your supporting cast is. Without a really good QB. A good coach or GM can look like the 2nd coming of forest Greg.

After the Mack disaster.....3/4 of the people of this site could have rebuilt this team....but ultimately it is about can you take the team to the next level?

Hugh Campbell had Tom Wilkinson & Warren Moon playing for him & won 5 Grey Cups. Bud Grant had Ken Ploen. Frank Clair had Russ Jackson. Eagle Keys had Ron Lancaster. Great coaches had great players. Would Frank Clair have won 3 Grey Cups with Gary Wood? Eagle Keys never won in BC with Don Moorehead. Bud Grant never would have won with John Schneider. Hugh campbell never would have won with Don Trull or Corey Colehour. Winning championships go hand in hand with HOF qbs. All those coaches had multiple Hall Of Famers playing at other positions as well. Otherwise they never would have won.

Was the defence better in the last game due to Hall’s absence? Perhaps the bigger influence was having someone play safety that could actually make plays. My vote is a REAL Safety.

Why in the world is Walters trying to trade for Collaros? Is this all a scheme to get fired?

Can we now revise that in terms of playoff wins vs everyone else?

I'm not seeing a lot of love for OSH. Even some of his staunchest supporters are (finally) having doubts.

This is what Streveler could evolve into..just not under LaPolice. If they go after Masoli, it better not be with LaPo still on the staff.

that's a real stretch to make a connection......but if I had a single dream in life, it would be this happening.....

I'm certainly not taking the ball out of Streveler's hands on 2nd/3rd and short.

J5V got a reaction from Wanna-B-Fanboy in GDT: Bombers @ Asshats
Yup, noticed that as well. Was going to say something then realized that if the Bombers are going to play like this, we deserve it. There are consequences to losing. This is one of them. Had we won, Ripper would have stayed under the bridge.

It has been reported that Lapo has very upset at not being allowed the Sask interview. Very upset. He felt it was within his contract to be interviewed for other opportunities. What did we expect from a disgruntled employee?

I think we have to give him a chance with a different coach. Lapo is a QB killer. So is O'Shea.

Doesn't sound like a troll to me. Just a fan asking a question. Anyway, to specifically answer Old Bomber Fan's question, I think Mike O'Shea would say that Streveler gave them the best chance to win. Just like he would say the same thing if Nichols was playing... that Matt would give them the best chance to win. That in O'Shea's mind the game was not over. To admit that by playing MacGuire would mean admitting defeat. That's why a qb switch was never made. Yeah, yeah, I know...

As a student some of my favourite teachers were the ones that asked the least of me...that provided the least amount of pressure to excel and achieve...who cut me the most amount of slack.
The fact he is so universally liked may be a good indicator of just how little he demands from his players.

He had very few pass options to score in the redzone. He was trying to throw passes to score and we had 1 guy in end zone which makes it easy for the secondary to cheat.
QFT. And the run plays werent even good. If we gave him some power toss, counter traps, shovels etc he would have won the game for us with ease.
TBH, I would take him as a 3rd / 4th qb in the nfl in a heart beat. Hed be the guy to hold on kicks, run the goal line package, and be the scout team QB when prepping for mobile QBs. That alone, is enough to keep him employed. That said I dont think he will get the attention coming out of this year to get that role down south. I dont see him playing his way into a big contract right now, and that is a good thing for us. Itd be great if he was, but we want to keep him and keeping him fairly cheap at this age is pretty great long term.
When given the limited time to throw the ball down field, hes shown he can do it with authority. He isnt ricky ray, but hes a pretty good passer for a running qb. And that is a tremendous value as a back up. especially at reasonable back up qb money.
