New poster here, but have been reading these boards for a while - best place to find Bombers news!
Agree that Bighill was our best player. He was all over the field today (as per usual). One of the best tacklers to play the game and a sure hall of famer.
I have to say that I'm kind of concerned with Buck's calling of the games so far - I don't know what we're doing running up the gut so much with a banged up o-line. We should be running sweeps and play-action to keep teams honest until Couture is back (sorry Kolankowski - you're doing a serviceable job, but getting pushed around in there). A bunch of odd short yardage plays as well... are we having issues with receivers and their routes? It's strange.
Otherwise, I think I'm pretty close to done with the Oliveira experiment. I'm not seeing any improvement in his time here at all, and often when we call his number it results in a dead play.

Biggie was absolutely our best player tonight. In a year where, so far, Jefferson and Jeffcoat haven't been as dominant as they have been previously (but still damn good, don't get me wrong), Bighill has been the hammer on the defence so far.
Legs - Hey, looks like the kid settling in. The punting and kickoffs seem to be much improved, and the hashmarks being moved in has helped a lot too. Happy for him - hopefully it continues and we have a national kicker we can count on for years to come.
Yoshi - Gets rolled up on the first play of the game, then down the stretch in the clutch too but kept on going. Him, Big Stan and Neufeld are the vets holding the line together at the moment. Losing him would have been huge.
HH - McCrae. Nothing on the statsheet that will jump off the page, but as I mentioned in a previous topic, his reps in pass protection were outstanding which is great to see in a rookie RB

Bighill was noticeable too, nearly had a pick, tipped the ball on that big interception, all over the field making tackles, and got to MBT a few times.

Biggest take away for me... Andrew Harris is still much better than any RB we have... and most other RBs in the league... if he plays even 14 games this year, it'll be a miss by our management.

OL has been a factor.
but looks at Brady’s first run of the game. It was second down, we had a few yards to go, he gets the the outside, and he gets shut down after a yard.
if Brady isn’t a power guy that’s going to fall forward and get those couple extra yards, what is he?

Nothing wrong with the playcall. It was just like the Bombers to do that. Maybe should have thrown it away tho

Hope they don't pump whatever yards Harris has for more than what it is . Garbage yards that couldn't keep drives going...no TD's...and stuffed on a 3rd and short...same empty stats as a Trever Harris 23 for 30 game for 380 yards...a pick...no TD's and a loss

Maybe Jones wanted to convert him to punt returner and he refused?

So, I was thinking of a way to bring this thread back to discussing Monday night's game and I went to the Argo twitter account for some material.
They haven't sent a tweet since late Saturday night, early Sunday morning with the final score.
Nothing. How can their social media be so unengaged??
Hey, Tanenbaum, the problems are coming from inside your own house!!

Not sure why the hate on the dB's...played well...under 300 yards...no tds against...again ..tough crowd.
Looks like the defence is getting in it's groove finally ...kicking game might be on right path...now we gotta get the offence a bit more sorted out...and we should be just fine...man we 3-0...giving up less than 15 points a game...chill out

Where’s that guy who continually defends Liegghio? We were dominant enough that it didn’t cost us last year. Will have to win more close games this season and he needs to improve or we need to look elsewhere.

The Ottawa kicker missed a fg so... missing the XP in a monsoon at times considering leggs is 2 for 2 on FGs today isn't awful

Wtf are you talking about Suits? Doesn't matter if he got the first down if he fumbled before the end of the play idiot.

Brady’s looked much better, it’s Zach who can’t keep us on the field.

Alright… second worst statistically (among punters who actually played). And the eye test last year showed his directional punting was absolutely terrible. That being said I’m cheering for the dude and really hope he has a great season.
good win , good teams win the ugly ones.

1. Wilson
2. Ellingson
3. Nichols
HH: schoen
hope the poster above me was joking shouting out Liegghio… punting this game showed why he was worst in the league in the category last year, and almost lost the game with the miss. Hope he can turn it around.

Spud Grant reacted to Noeller in Top 5 Bomber QBs
According to 17to85, there's a discussion on CFL Reddit about top 5 QBs for each franchise, and this has led to discussion in our group chat about the Bombers Top 5 QBs all time.... And it's a tougher decision than you realize.
How do you rank sustained success vs short term? A guy like Collaros hasn't been here long but has had a lot of success. Khari and Dunigan had a ton of success but no cups. Glenn was a MOP until Eiben. Etc etc etc.
I think, for us, its:
Ploen
Jacobs
Brock
Khari
Collaros
(Clements, Burgess, Dunigan, Glenn all right there, too....)
